Tucked away in the picturesque town of Grundarfjörður, Iceland, lies a gem of a dining experience - the Harbour Cafe. Upon entering, you're immediately wrapped in a cozy embrace, with a rustic charm that whispers tales of the sea. The interior, a harmonious blend of comfort and style, features warm wooden accents and an open, welcoming layout. The soft, ambient lighting is just right, casting a gentle glow on the casual yet chic decor. Now, let's talk about the feast for the senses that is their menu. My wife and I, adventurers at heart and foodies by choice, decided to embark on a culinary journey starting with their salmon panini. Oh, what a delight! The panini was like the warm hug you need after a day out in the Icelandic breeze, perfectly grilled with a symphony of flavors that only fresh, local salmon can provide. The lamb soup, shared between us, was nothing short of amazing—a hearty embrace in a bowl, infused with the essence of Iceland's pristine pastures. It's the kind of soup that not only warms your belly but also your soul, leaving you in a state of content bliss. Our Americanos, robust and aromatic, were accompanied by a charming surprise - a tiny chocolate bar that was the proverbial cherry on top of a perfect dining experience. And let's not forget the ham and cheese croissant, a flaky, buttery masterpiece that we split, savoring each bite as if it were our first. The service? Impeccable! The staff was the epitome of friendliness, not only assisting us in navigating the menu but also teaching us the correct pronunciation of Grundarfjörður - a tongue twister for us foreigners but music to the ears when said right. Speedy service, food that's a cut above, and a vibe that makes you want to stay all day - the Harbour Cafe is a must-visit. It’s where the warmth of Icelandic hospitality meets the mastery of culinary delights. A resounding five stars!

Super cute cafe in town! The menu seems underwhelming but it's all you need. Best salmon I've probably ever had! It was seasoned very well w/ a delicious sauce -Would love the recipe! The lamb soup was decent -not the best I've had on the island.

How are we discovering this place only now? So cozy and beautiful inside, with attentive service and wonderful home-cooked meals! Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We enjoyed our lunch with baked lamb & roasted potatoes plus plokfiskar (baked cod & potatoes) and chocolate cake and berry cheese cake with coffee to top off the meal. It is our new favorite place!

Me and my brother stopped in for dinner this evening, and despite the quiet night it was in Grundarfjörður we were welcomed by a warm and cozy atmosphere with festive music and decor. We had amazing food and the server was a delight. He even got us to like fermented shark!

Only place around that was open for lunch so we popped in. Husband had the lamb soup which he enjoyed. I had the veggie soup. Cost us $41 USD. Hoping the bread that came with to the soup would’ve been rustic and crusty, however it was slice white bread.

Cozy restaurant on the harbor with excellent food. We tried the lamb chops and cod fish and both were really delicious. Service was slow and if you are in a hurry you have to keep that in mind.

What a GEM! We loved this cozy spot, had a delicious cod dinner sourced locally! We truly loved meeting the manager Danny, and learning more about Iceland from him! We adored this whole area and def recommend stopping here for a meal, a stay, or coffee!
