Wonderful place. You definitely have to stop there, enjoy amazing view of El Tejde and walk around. I would suggest trek staring from this place and go around Cueva Negra. You can see El Tejde from many places, various lava streams (so fascinating), ocean, Hiero and if you are lucky and visibility is good you could see Cumbre Vieja volcano eruption 🌋 on La Palma (we were that lucky, check photos 🧐). Highly recommended 👍🏻

Beautiful sunset above the clouds which were ever changing. They looked like a rolling ocean and so thick you felt you could stand on them

Watching the sunset above the clouds. A short climb from mirador de samara. Absolutely amazingly Beautiful views. Would recommend packing up a jacket as temperatures will go down by 20-30 degrees after sunset!!

Incredible views here! I highly recommend hike #13 which starts from here. It takes a little over an hr and has some beautiful views! A lot less crowded than other trails.

Mind blowing!! Literally just above cloud level! Driving through the cloud was such an extraordinary experience! The hiking trek looks very interesting, would love to come back for that in the future! Didn’t have time for hiking this time but the view was worth dropping by just to admire it.

Amazing place from where you can admire a beautiful sunset over Tenerife island. I recommend you to take with you a jacket and some gloves or something anti wind since the weather is pretty chilly and windy.

Nice trail walk. Be sure that you have enough water with you. It can be cold with low clouds but a few meters further the sun can shine and temperature is rising. Good shoes are important. Dogs are not allowed in the trails from National Park El Teide.

We hiked route 13 here. Absolutely stunning!. It took us about 1:40 to do the loop. Not difficult to hike, but it does have 250 meters of elevation difference to cover.

Beautiful hiking round (route 13). Takes around 2-2.5 hours. Little to no shadow, so think about sun protection and water. Good shoes highly recommend due volcanic soil. Just a few parking spots, so come early in high season.

Really good lookout point with views over alpine forest in the foreground and the huge volcano of pico teide in the background and also views out to see. There are also some excellent trails here that are far less busy than other parts of Teide, e.g. Teide summit route and Roques de Garcia

Incredibly beautiful and a stunning view of Teide. Wear grippy shoes if possible - the ground is quite slippy.

Lovely hike. It’s ~1,5h of easy walk with some accent. Great lava formations. Nice large pine cones foe souvenirs.

Great place to go for a hike up the Samara mountain. This place is always busy so keep in mind an alternative especially an hour before sunset.

Absolutely one of the best places where to take a hike on the vulcano slopes. The trail is pretty short and easy. Better take the trace on the right once you leave the parking place to avoid the only one steep part, so you can do it on the descent.

Stunning views looking back at El Teide complex and all of the lava flow, but also when you cross the road, you get a view of Cumbre Vieja smoke plume rising above the clouds on La Palma!

Good starting point for a hike + you can see Pico del Teide from there. Parking is not big.
