Unique park... on Saturdays the goth and emo youth and people of Mexico gather, selling Unique items. On Saturday you can purchase many items of this sort, including clothing, paraphernalia, crystals, "special brownies".. and see many people publicly smoking Marijuana. It is an interesting visit. I recommend.

Of all the years coming to Guadalajara I can’t believe I never been here let alone knew of the super cool tiangis they put on every Saturday. It’s not your typical open market but if you’re a cool young adult like me, this is your happy place lol

On Saturdays there's so much sellers on the park, with a cool vibe all around.

Well I've lived here 11 years now and I have ran across all its ups and downs threw the years and since I also skateboard I see the growth in kids and teenagers come out more to use its center for skating. There's a section where kids ect. Do rap, they do yoga, rope balancing, breakdance, and many other fun things. I think it need more lighting in the night because it gets pretty dark and lighting that's there isn't enough and there's lots of movement with people seeing that it's also the start point to the line 1 Juarez trainstation. And being dark has led to more individuals having to stay there and sleep or can attract bad people to use this darkness as early as 7 or 8 pm to commit crime. So lighting really needs some improvement for the safety of everybody and so we can continue using this historical park in a more productive way and continue to grow history with lots of great fun times that you can enjoy at this park. Let's not forget that on Saturdays everybody is now using the park during the morning to noon for a flea market type thing where there's so much things to see and u just might like something you like. Thanks.

This park has great slides, swings and teeter totters. It also has really nice shaded tables and benches. There are also several busses that leave directly from the nearby streets.

Good place to hang out and watch the locals go about their daily business, the park is surrounded by a few bars and restaurants and you can also rent a bicycle to explore the surrounding neighborhoods, bikes are very inexpensive ($5/day) just slide your credit card and ride 30 minutes max at a time and do it again (300 bike stations throughout the city) Mayor Light rail underground station under the park.

Very airy, open space. Almost always something festive or interesting happening here. Easy to get to by car, bike, bus or plain ol' walking.

I visited "La Mercadita" and it was great! That safe space for women has s great vibe of security and partnership; plus, there are a lot of local entrepreneurship stores to support!

Every Sunday they have diverse events, music, dancing and socialization. Biking, skating, jogging, running and other activities. Mankind shows it's best side and nature.

My favorite park in GDL, the Saturday bazaars are great, it's also a good place for a picnic, there's a seven in front, and several food stores, the subway can easily take you to Zapopan. Also there are public benches and tables to eat

A place where a lot of protests happen. Not a safe place to be in for a long time. Definitely not family oriented.

  • 5/5 Ernes D. 1 year ago on Google
It's a very well known and busy place, from here you can take the light rail line 2 from Juarez station towards Tetlan, or take line 1 towards Periferico Sur or towards Auditorio; you can also take several bus routes; On the commercial side the park is surrounded by clothing stores, food stores, with street vendors, candy vendors and at night enjoying a nice view and now with the opening of bars near the area; there are many young people practicing skateboarding, urban cycling, freestyle, you can see adults enjoying the morning-afternoon-evening, families walking, children running

Did you know this park was designed by Luis Barragán and replaced an old penitentiary (and why one of the intersecting streets is called Penetenciaría)? It is worthwhile to sit and take in all of the design elements.

Great place to hang during Sundays for recreativa. Lots to see, from hula hooping to live drum circles.

  • 5/5 Antonio G. 1 year ago on Google
Very cool park that is especially worth a visit during the weekend. Especially on a Sunday the park will come more to life with locals doing many different activities like zumba lessons, hulahoop, volleyball, dancing, music, streetartists & food stands, second hand stalls and much more! Go and check it out!

It's a very iconic place to know in Guadalajara's downtown. When you get there, you'll understand why (unless you're upset XD).

  • 5/5 Francis L. 3 years ago on Google
Love how centrally located this park is. You have access to light rail station, and are within walking distance to main attractions. Good place to take a breather in between errands. Also main spot during the Via Recreativa.

Full of energy, lots of young and vibrate people walking and entertaining the tourist and the native people. I definitely recommend it very safe and great to sit and have lunch while taking the great weather and fresh air.
