Enjoyable to know about opera art through here, i think anyone interested to chinese opera should try the costume and take photo here. There are so much things we learn about this Cantonese art here, especially the connection with Perak to the art. So proud to see 4 out of 10 photos on the wall were from Perak, Malaysia.

The museum is a contemporary complex designed for comfort, but visually it seems much more classical. A perfect mixture of new and old. They have put together an array of exhibits that give the patron a better understanding of Cantonese operatic history and it's influence on the region. Highly recommended.

This area is definitely worth seeking out. We had to ask a few people as the entrance we'd identified was blocked by building work. The opera is just one part of a reconstruction the old city, and the whole area is fascinating. The delicate ornate buildings in a forest of brutalist communist era apartment blocks makes for some very interesting photographs. We were lucky to see a performance as we wandered around. It's seems to be all free and there's a lot going on, it's just hard to figure out exactly what. Very popular with the locals.

The place was crowded but worth the walk. Outside the museum you can take pictures of the canals and bridges.

A friend brought me to this museum dedicated to Cantonese Opera. Besides the comprehensive, detailed description at the exhibition I'm even more impressed by the architecture of the whole museum and the ambience, using a combination of landscaped gardens and water features. A little oasis.

The museum is located in YongQingFang old town in Guangzhou, which is a popular attraction recently as it keeps the traditional Cantonese architectures. In the Opera Art Museum, there are nice gardens in the yard, and exhibitions about the Canton opera. In addtion, the museum is free of charge to visit but you need to carry your ID. Moreover, there are many interesting shops here, so you can wander around, then taste the local snacks or drink coffee at local cafe.
