I wanted to like this hotel as it overlooks the river but if you are unlucky enough to get the room on the first floor, beware you will not sleep from all the noise - partying into the night on the street, boats passing, etc. In addition, there are floor to ceiling windows with no curtains and the light posts in the river stay on all night. The management was nice and the breakfast was lovely but the hotel was not a comfortable stay.

My daughter and I stayed here on January 29, 2021. We have been in Ecuador for 3 weeks and have stayed at many places. This place by far is the very best of them all including 5 star rated hotels. It’s incredibly classy impeccably managed and far surpasses any other place we have stayed both here and in the US. Communication from the property is excellent and the lemonade is absolutely wonderful. Booking anywhere else would be a mistake.

The suite with garden view I wouldn’t recommend. If you open the blinds you will see a few plants but other people will also be able to see you inside. At night, the artificial light still comes through the double blinds and you can hear any sound coming from the reception area. The bathroom is very small, you can barely sit on the toilet properly. What I loved about this place is the good service of everyone working there, nice attitudes, good enough breakfast, lovely rooftop and just a chill ambience. Wish we would have chosen a different room as we didn’t sleep well because of noise and light :/

We loved staying here! The hotel was beautiful and clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was very walkable! The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving us restaurant suggestions and setting up taxis. After a long plane ride, we were even greeted by the host with fresh fruit for us to enjoy as he checked us in. We will definitely stay here again if we are in Guayaquil!

The location can't be beat... roughly equidistant between the bars of Las Penas and the bars of Santa Anna neighborhood. It is very easy to walk down to either location and grab an Uber anywhere in the city. The staff is lovely. Izzy and Iker made sure we had everything we needed. They were friendly and helpful. The rooms show some age and aren't 5 star, but they have amazing space and the river view balcony is wonderful. This place would be wonderful to stay for weeks or months even... the storage is better than my home closets. Breakfast everyday was delicious and plentiful. If ever I return to Guayaquil, this will be at the top of my list to return.

My boyfriend and I stayed here one night after a late flight in to guayaquil, we were warmly welcomed and felt right at home! At the time guayaquil was experiencing a lockdown at 9pm so we weren’t able to go out to get dinner. Our host made us tomato egg and avocado sandwiches with fresh juice along with fresh fruit! The hospitality we experienced was unparalleled and we will definitely return the next time we are in guayaquil. The space is beautiful with a river view balcony that has a nice breeze. There is a beautiful garden in the center of the common area, our room was right next to it so we had some natural light but it wasn’t too bright so we could sleep in a bit after our travels. The room was large with a walk in closet beautiful bathroom and comfy bed. The breakfast was DELICIOUS! Fresh fruit, coffee, generous portions of juice, toasted bread and eggs or pancakes and bacon! Overall such a nice, safe and welcoming environment if you are looking for a short or longer term stay. Thank you so much! We hope to see you again soon!

Best location for a quiet stay in a chaotic city. Nice design, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the pool was nice, we had it to ourselves. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Amazing location, great staff and management, clean and beautiful. Tip about transfer: a bit of up hill walk ( so better communication for travelers with an Uber would be appreciated) you can get an Uber at the time (June 2022) from the airport at 4$!!! Just make sure u drop the pin correctly as a round about closest from airport would have you needing to walk to the hotel on a uneven uphill walkway which with a suitcase is very hard , do the extra loop and get dropped off infront The most delicious passion fruit drink! Make sure you try it, Will stay here again for sure , didn get a chance to try the pool but it looks amazing

A great place to stay by the river. The customer service was 10/10. The girl checking everyone in was very sweet and so friendly. She genuinely cared to make sure we were safe. Give her a raise!!! The place was very clean and the rooms were great. One of the best breakfasts I ever had! Go to plaza Largo for a fun evening and good meal.

Great place. Our room was on the 5th floor and overlooked the river and swimming pool. We needed to catch a 10 AM flight to Galapagos and they served our breakfast early so we had plenty of time. It is 15 minutes from the airport and great dining is only a short walk. The taxi/Uber will drop you off at the circle. The hotel door is locked so ring the buzzer which says RECEPTION. I wish we could have stayed longer. One comment, the neighborhood dogs did some barking at night but it wasn't too bad.

All aspects were seamless from the reservation to the airport transport arranged through the hotel, to the friendly staff and amazing breakfast each day. 'Iker' was especially helpful and friendly. All staff were also patient with my limited Spanish-speaking skills. Hotel is in a good location for walking to nearby restaurants, markets, etc. I would stay again.

We stayed here during our stay in Guayaquil and had a lovely time - rooms were clean, the staff was so courteous and accommodating, the rooftop pool was gorgeous and had a great view and the breakfast was delicious. It's in a fantastic location right in the historic district, walking distance from quite a few tourist-must-sees. Highly recommend!!

Nice hotel with good views in a safe area with a lot of restaurants nearby, you also have a private parking, breakfast on 4th floor was also nice and good but rooms are a little too small and the biggest problem is karaoke just on the other side of your window that plays very loud until 3 am. We nearly didn't sleep at all, so this destroyed our stay.

First, the welcoming staff, Egor?, was wonderful. He spoked English very well and made us feel welcome. He ensured we had everything we needed and gave all the necessary information. Second, we were blown away by the room, just the sheer size of it, the walk in closet, the 12+ feet ceiling, the full window with the river view, were all fantastic. The next morning, we had a great breakfast of egg, fruits, bread, juices, coffee and they also made great looking and delicious pancakes for my son. It was perfect. Egor also recommended Mercado Artesanal shopping within walking distance which we love and shopped until we dropped and ate at Mami T that was 2 min walk away. Egor's sister, Izzy?, was on duty next day and she was equally amazing with her welcoming smile and great English. The hotel is on a cobble stoned street that was guarded by security and police every few hundred yards. You can walk safely down one direction to La Perla (giant ferris wheel) and Malecon or walk the other direction where Wyndham and Mami T are. The swimming pool on the fifth floor with river view and hammocks was great too. The modern place has multi floors but gave you homely feel because of the staff and it is tastefully decorated. Disliked · No stairs to get in and out of the pool. That's a bit challenging if you are not fit.

Be aware that the suite with garden view is not really a view to any garden, it doesn’t have windows, it has glass doors to a hallway that everyone transit and in front of that there is a small garden, but if you want to see the “garden” basically you will make yourself and your privacy totally exposed. The worst part was today’s breakfast, they didn’t have sugar free juice and there was a very long hair in the middle of my omelette, when I told them they asked me if I wanted another one, I wouldn’t ask, I would have just done it without ask me since they saw that I barely touched it. Now that I think about it, they didn’t even apologize for the issue. Sadly it wasn’t the only hair a found, yesterday when we received the room there was also a long hair in the bathroom sink, makes you wonder about the hygiene. Finally, two lights didn’t work in the room, I told the staff and they only fixed one.

Staff are attentive and helpful. Good breakfast and coffee. Incredible view from lobby/dining area and rooms with “river view”. “Garden view” rooms are generally a bit larger and quieter. There is construction going on across the street during daylight hours. The Las Peñas neighborhood is incredible!

Great hotel in the middle of the old town but very modern with a swimming pool on top. It would have had five star with a little more upkeep. The shower was cold but staff are very friendly. Can be difficult if you stay on the reception floor as you have to call the reception in the lift to get to that floor and the staff are not always listening

We only spent one night in this hotel but it was amazing. The hotel itself is so beautiful, the rooms are spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast in the morning was also very delicious with various options to choose from. Special thanks to Iker for all his help. He made sure we had a very good stay. We can totally recommend this hotel if you are staying in Guayaquil.

Hotel Casa Las Peñas Siglo XXI is a hidden treasure in Guayaquil. We had such a lovely experience in our three-day stay that we decided to come back after our trip to the Galapagos. Our four kids agree that this place is a favorite of their as well! This boutique hotel is situated on a quaint cobblestone street. The hotel is classy, updated, comfortable, and very clean. It has high internet, lovely huge windows, an indoor fountain and is simply quaint. Breakfast was delicious and worthy of a high-end restaurant both in taste and presentation. It has a beautiful lap pool and a greenery garden area, several terraces to sit and enjoy the beautiful view. It is situated in a great location, close to coffee shops and restaurants at the Malecon. We met interesting people from all over the world here, and everyone seemed to enjoy their stay. Some of them so much, that they were returning guests as well. The staff is superb. They paid special attention to details and offered us fresh drinks all day long and went out of their way to make us (and every guest) feel at home. They remembered our preferences at breakfast and offered us laundry service for our family of six! It has large rooms, comfortable beds, a spacious living room/sitting area, and classy decor. We cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. You will be pleasantly surprised at how lovely your stay here will be. We will make it our "home away from home" in Guayaquil.

By far the best place we have stayed in Guayaquil. The staff and owners are very friendly and make you feel at home. Isra, one of the owners, went above and beyond to help us in anything we needed. Not only are they genuinely nice people; they are also very knowledgeable about the area and more than happy to help you with attractions, restaurants, bars, flights, transportation, etc... We can not say enough good things about this place and would recommend it to all travelers. The exceptionally clean rooms, delicious breakfast , complementary coffee and juice, coupled with the safety and great location, make this place a unique find in Guayaquil.
