This was really neat and a good place to stretch your legs and take in a little bit of history. I also found amazing to actually walk where the wagons had made a smooth path in the stone. There are two ways up to see it, both are pretty steep, make sure to take your time if inclines are hard on you.

Wow! These are some of the best ruts I’ve seen along the entire trail. Also if you move past the main ruts at the top of the hill and go to the right, there’s a second set of ruts by the small bridge. It’s just a 30 second walk down the path. If you keep your eyes open beyond that, you’ll see the cut in the earth from where the trail led to those ruts. Watch out for cactus if you decide to walk that portion though! My dog got stuck with a Prickly Pear in his belly.

What a interesting place to visit, rich with history on the pioneers of our past. It’s simply amazing how they made their way across this country.

Great place to see history. It is amazing that you can still see the ruts left so long ago. Fairly easy walk around this loop.

Nice quick stop and a short hike to stretch your legs! It was awesome to see ruts from wagons that were on the Oregon Trail! We have done several stops at various sites on our trip and this was an Awesome stop!

The trail ruts are really amazing. When your standing in the ruts you get a perspective of the number of travelers, wagons, and goods that came through there. Today, the area probably looks a lot like it did when the settlers came through. After we visited, we went to register cliff as a close by side trip. After that we went to Fort Laramie. Also, a very good stop in the area. These three sites are must see locations for American history buffs. Highly recommend.

Ok, this was much more interesting than I thought it would be. I do love history and I’ve heard of the Oregon Trail ruts before, butI had no idea these were so pronounced where you could see the the indentation of thousands of wagons that made there way over these rocks. All I can say is that I hope they had good cushions to sit on because that much have been pretty bumpy! It is back a gravel road, but we took our rental sports car back there with no problem. Not sure what that would be like in wet conditions though. There are two sets of ruts, the main set at the top of the rocks and another one on the way down, so walk the entire loop.

This is a historical site off the main road. There are outhouses and a pavilion/picnic area. The trail is paved and less than half a mile. It's a very short visit. There are some displays explaining the history. We encountered many military vehicles on our way to the site from the main road. The road is gravel and rough. Watch for rattlesnakes.

Nice quick stop and loop. Worked great to stretch legs and get a bit of history in. We’d done the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center in Casper, WY so it was cool to see the trail.

A few minutes drive from Guernsey. Worth the stop to see preserved wagon trail ruts from Oregon Trail. No cost to visit.

Cool spot for a short walk to stretch out your legs and learn a little bit about the history of America. Only a few blocks off the main highway too. The trail to the left is a little steep in spots, but the trail on the right is more gradual and better for those with mobility limitations. Both go to the same spot.

I stopped here on a road trip out of curiosity, a cute little trail with a number of plaques explaining the significance. Nothing shocking, but for those that spent years studying the Oregon trail a nice walk about to see history for ones self.

For those of you who are enamored with the western tide of settlers who set out on that perilous journey in the 1800s in covered wagons, this is a must see! I must have passed by this place 10 times, heading north on I-25, before I finally hit that exit and made the side trip to see it. I’m so glad I did! What a cool way to step back in time! Also see register cliff while you are here!

Interesting bit of history along the Oregon Trail

Best preserved ruts along the Oregon Trail. Must-see if you're interested in the Trail. Mind blowing how many wagons it must have taken to leave such a permanent mark on the landscape.

Fantastic! There are multiple stretches and you can actually walk around in. Walk in the tracks of those following the Oregon Trail. We have not seen other “ruts” this clear and accessible.

It is very humbling to realize the determination and sacrifice that our pioneering ancestors mustered to find new beginnings, never forgetting the promise of new devastated cultures of old.

Interesting from a historical point of view. When you think about how people traveled across the US and how many wagons it took to wear down the stones, it is amazing. Truly a testament to the human spirit.

Not a high glamour stop, but historically interesting. Definitely not crowded. Interesting visual to think about and compare the 1800s settlers, iron wheels, no suspension, heat and bugs with our current cars that insulate us for the environment.

This is a must visit, and the extremely easy walk! Slight slight uphill grade, but if you take your time there's plenty of benches to rest on your way there!

Good experience to be able to see the trail ruts from wagon trains embedded into the stone at this location. Great history from both the Oregon, California, and Mormon Trail exodus westward in the 1800s.

Free. A great spot to stop and stretch your legs and see/touch an important part of American history. The trail is probably .5 mile. Clean bathrooms (pit toilets) and a covered picnic area.
