Beautiful place to spend a day. Not far off the M25 junction 9. Although it feels a million miles once you get in there. If you can go during the week it would be a lot quieter. They organise loads of activities it has changed so much since I was last there. Its a place that inspires and helps relax you.

What a stunning place! So worth doing the membership and visiting often, especially when then seasons change. There's also something new to see and explore. There are also plenty of cafes to choose from and the shop before leaving has everything you'll ever need. Amazing place for a family visit, a romantic stroll or a one time.

Had the best time wandering around Wisley for the afternoon. Food at the terrace was amazing and very impressed with the Vegan options available. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend visiting in October if you want to see the pumpkins grown in the garden. Ended our visit upgrading our ticket to an annual pass because we loved it so much!

I love visiting this garden. It's huge and there's so much to see and admire. Every season brings something new. This April we saw the pink blossoms and the millions of colourful tulips that were dotted all over the garden. The summer is very colourful with magnificent flowers of all varieties. The winter garden is just as amazing. It also has lovely restaurants and one is near the vegetable garden. You get to sit among the herbs, figs and the chillies with the bees buzzing around you. You can take long walks by the river or just laze around on the grass grounding yourself. You will not be disappointed. It caters for everybody.

We came to RHS Wisley for a family meet up, even though it was a quiet time in the growing season. In the relative quiet of a winter Sunday, it was a pleasant place to wander around. There was a plant life from the age of dinosaurs in the glasshouse which was very interesting and which was decorated with lots of dinosaur themed iron or plant decorations. The garden centre was very good and we were able to buy plants to go with those from our previous visit.

Amazing place to visit. You'll need more than just one day, bus it's more than worthy it, believe me. It's lovely specially during Spring, when almost everything is blossom; or when Autumn starts - you'll see those red/orange/yellow and all those different tones of green. There's swing benches towards the river, where you can have nice meals, plus many picnic tables across the park. Don't forget to visit the Greenhouse (please check the timetable before going). And the small, but very informative and with interactive activities for the children to learn more about how to keep taking care of our planet. Check their website for more

A lovely day out in beautiful settings. Lots to see and appreciate. Good restaurants and cafes for different tastes and price ranges. Free parking which is a bonus these days.

First visit. Possibly helped by the threat of bad weather, the gardens did not seem crowded. Nice large/expansive views of well managed lawns and borders. Individual gardens are thoughtfully arranged within themselves but also blending with the neighbouring areas. The main glasshouse is dense with plants but easy to wander around (paths clear for easy mobility). Large well stocked garden/gift shop.

Love this place!! 😍😍😍 Every visit you see something you hadn't seen before. A calming place to chill and wander. Great for kids. Just beautiful. Plenty of places to grab a drink. Massive place which you could spend all day there. Shop is a little pricey but lots of lovely items. On Saturdays they have a music event on the ground which yet to go to.

This was my first visit to RHS Garden Wisley. Although it was raining, it was still a pleasure to walk around this exciting place. RHS Wisley had an exhibition on the era of the dinosaurs . RHS Wisley exhibition is a marvellous place to visit with children too. The noises of the dinosaurs 🦕 and with their sound of their footsteps sounded amazing.

We popped in this afternoon for a wander before going to RHS Glow in the evening. Parking was very easy and will fit all sizes vehicles. The highlights were the alpine gardens, stunning at this time of year and our very warm welcome from Christopher. He truly made us feel at home and special at the same time. The Glow itself was spectacular although for those with sensory issues regarding bright lights, there are still some great places to view from. I highly recommend watching the lake installation from the bottom level of water lily pavilion (opposite the house, down after the slope) as you pass all the bright blue lights on the slope. Can't wait to come again in spring and see the new buds.

A must visit. Well maintained gardens with a good variety of areas to explore. You can walk all around in about 3 hrs. Green house has a waterfall and a large collection of orchids. Take the RHS bus from Worthy station (not sure about the spelling. Leaves the station on the hr, the Wisely Gardens on the half hr.

This wonderful light show in the gardens for young and old alike. Beautiful in the early darkened evening of English winter. With all the usual accompanying treats of a winter event the light show is truly something for the entire family. Great reason to see the gardens, in a different light... pun intended. Outside of the venue control is the road works and traffic on the A3 just outside, so a word of advice is to leave with loads of time.

One of the many amazing things about Wisley Garden (RHS) is the constant blossom somewhere, at any day of the year. Even in the mid Winter- and not just inside the tropical house, but also outside - whether it’s crocuses, snowdrops, Camellias, tulips, daffodils, roses… and thousands of other annuals and perennials. Each visit is full of new seasonal surprises and beauty. Another thing is the precision and masterful design with which each little corner is developed into a unique place- there isn’t a square meter unattended. The imaginative design and thoughtful planning gone into creating and sustaining Wisley gardens is to be admired. The land was gifted to RHS in 1905, and ever since the creative development has not stopped! Each walk is a sensory discovery of a new life, new aroma, a new colour. My favourites? The Bonsai walk, the Horses head statue, the magnificent Tropical house, the Hilltop view educational centre with wonderful free lectures and gardening courses, the river and rockery walks, the orchard, the ever-changing colours and aromas of the bulbs plants, the variety of the immaculate green houses, the beautifully designed garden shop (one can spend a small fortune each visit), the restaurants, the hidden paths in the Oak wood, and many more. There is plenty to see, plenty to walk, plenty to breathe, and plenty to learn. And all of it is topped with a fantastically helpful army of staff and volunteers, always in a marvellously friendly mood and with a great helpful attitude! Must mention that almost all of the garden has been made accessible for disabled people via wide paths and alleys, by providing motor scooters which can be pre-booked. A brilliant, refreshing and stress-relieving experience!

They have art exhibitions by famous artist such as Turner that you might only see in London. It is a little known jewel for the people of Woking and Surrey. Just have a look at their Web site and be amazed.

Wisley is a very special place! Lovely to visit in all the seasons! Lots of new additions since we went last , around 4/5 years ago! Particularly loved the vegetable garden where you can sit with a drink and admire all the beautiful vegetables! So much to see and photograph, lovely walks and vista's! Want to go back in autumn🍂

A beautiful visit once again! A large place to explore and get lost in the beauty of nature. So many sunny spots but there are shaded areas and places for a picnic too. Would highly recommend for all ages. The glasshouses remain my favourite part - gorgeous succulents and tropical plants. Cafes offer a selection of delicious food and the garden centre is worth a visit on the way out.

Superb! I wasn't expecting a tropical plant house! great setting, great restaurants, amazing plants (of course); a truly fantastic day. We visited on the RHS show day and it was _quite_ busy but didn't feel packed like Chelsea... loved it and will return.

This place is lovely, a great day out. So much to see. And they have few areas where you can stop to have food and drink. Highly recommended. Perhaps Spring and summer time is the best time to visit to see all.flowers and different colours.

For those of us in landscape and garden academia, this is a fabulous place dedicated to education. But if you are not in academia looking for something different to do on a day out, RHS Wisley is for you, too. What impressed me most is that the gardens are atypical. Sure, there is a rose garden, perennial border, and other elements commonly found in the best gardens, but the site also hosts some dynamic modern designs as well as test gardens. The overall experience was inspiring, and the garden ideas are scalable from grand estates to small, urban garden plots. If I'm fortunate to visit the UK again, RHS Wisley is on the top of my list for a revisit. Friendly, professional staff, too. For travelers, taking the courtesy shuttle from the train station is essential, but the directions on the website to find the bus is a little confusing (for me). The train from London arrives on the back side of the station, so make sure you make your way to the station's main entrance where most of the busses park. For me, I exited the station on the wrong side, and after a helpful call to the garden office, I found the under crossing to the main entrance. The bus arrives on the hour, but sometimes traffic can cause some delays. Otherwise, a wonderful experience.

Really lovely day out at the flower show. Blessed with beautiful weather which helped. Busy around the displays especially as it was the first show day but quieter if you went away from the show area. Lots of benches for a sit down. Gorgeous well maintained gardens. Aim to go back as couldn't get round it all in one go.

RHS Wisley- what an incredibly delightful and amazing visitor attraction to look around if you are a keen horticulturalist. The gardens are well kept, interesting and designed to be cosmetically pleasing to the eye. Having the names of the various plants / flowers on small signs positioned next to each floral specimen makes it really interesting as well as educational. Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all the way! Well worth a visit if your a keen gardener as their garden centre was out of this world!

My first visit since becoming a member of the RHS. This is the jewel in the crown of the RHS Gardens. A very well laid out, thoughtfully landscaped garden with a Glasshouse and various buildings dotted around the site. There are beautiful places to sit and relax , a lake with a fountain and self sustaining water storage for irrigation. All the areas are well signposted. There is an area where they trial planting, a related science lab, A world Food cafe and roof terrace garden. Getting around is easy using a map or signage and electric buggy transport. You can hire mobility scooters. The garden centre is very good. Wisley is a centre of gardening knowledge so for anyone needing to learn about this, they should definitely visit. Members go free with one guest.

A place that showcases seasonal beauty all year round! This is my go to day out if I want to walk and grab a coffee with my young Son. Parking is easy and the gardens and eateries are accessible for prams. Our favourite spot is the Pinetum and then up to the glasshouse or the Hilltop for a coffee and some food. When my son is older, I'm sure he will love the wooden play area, it has a great sand pit. It is a joy all year round and the team work very hard to showcase nature and the seasonal flowers and plants. The shop is beautiful too and great for purchasing gifts. Well worth the membership

beautiful i every respect. Gardens are well planned to ensure the visitor can see the ordinary alongside the spectacular. A great and inexpensive way of spending a day relaxing amongst the best nature has to offer The photo of the snowdrop shows a plant of which one single bulb is worth £1000

I always love going to Wisley Gardens. Great place to take the kids. We did the Carnival trail which was quite easy but definitely gave them a good walk. Really enjoyed the new science centre. Lots of interactive activities and a stunning view from the top. The new play area is excellent. Swings, slide, mini trampolines, lots of climbing and places to sit plus a small coffee and tea hut...perfect!!

Just dropped by to drop off some books (The LightBox are upcycling second hand books at the moment) and stopped in the cafe for a hot chocolate. Excellent. Parking limited on site but there is a pay car park about 200m away.

Another fantastic evening spent walking around the gardens. Extremely friendly and helpful staff too...both leading up to the night, and on it (they helped us move our booking to a later date due to family illness). You can clearly see the effort and thought that has gone into creating a magical garden to explore - the lights, fire-show and atmosphere kept our family entertained despite the bitter night air... Will be back again next year!

Really lovely gardens and our 2 year old is a huge fan of the kids park. There's sand, things to climb and a slide, plus loads more. There are lots of nice areas to sit for a coffee, including the new Hilltop area, which has been really well done.

I’ve not been to the gardens of the RHS for many years, so was excited to get tickets as a birthday gift to see how much it’s changed? As one would expect from the RHS Flagship garden, it’s very well represented, with many varied and unusual specimens of the plant world, and the gardens are (on the whole) very well presented. We visited on a dry, warm summers day, and although not overly crowded, it was very busy, with people making the most of the good weather with picnics and children running about on the many lawned areas. There are some great water features dotted around, with an impressive waterfall in the glasshouse. Although (thankfully) we don’t require their use, the gardens are pretty wheelchair friendly, with many of the areas accessible via steps also having sloping pathways, giving their less fortunate guests equal access without detracting from the layout of the gardens. Our only criticism was a distinct lack of clear signposts, and the map we were given not representing clearly, how to navigate from one point to another (the site can be quite disorientating!) and considering the amount of seats, benches and tables, there are no bins around the gardens, so litter has been allowed to blow into the ponds and water features (although this doesn’t seem to be evident in the flower beds and borders, as I guess they are patrolled fairly regularly? (Why people can’t take their rubbish home with them is beyond me??) The garden Centre and shop are the only way out, so you’ve no option but to browse on your way out, and we thought the prices were considerably higher than that of general “town” garden centres, and the restaurants were well stocked but expensive. With these points in mind, I would still highly recommend visiting, but wear sensible clothing, and prepare for a lot of walking if you want to see the best parts! Well worth the visit, and in different times, I would’ve seriously considered joining the RHS just to make use of a gem on our doorstep!!

Easy to get to from London via M25 & A3. There is a Glow light show currently running. Loads of places to eat. Great glass house. It's rather small though and an easy walk round. No need for walking shoes and hikers will find boring.

A fantastic day out. We were there from 10.30 till 5 ish and think we just about saw everything in terms of areas but there were lots of little paths off where we couldn't explore all of them. Great play area for kids, plenty of benches an be obviously lots of interesting plants and flowers.

Visited the grounds last Monday and from the get go, first impressions was space, space, beautiful grounds and so much more. I didn't get to go through the actual gardens as I wasn't a member and I was only passing through but the little I explored was gorgeous. The food hall and shopping halls, cafe and market stalls were all good. Caught a glimpse of a small part of the garden and it looked spectacular. There were some outbuildings that were grand and huge...loads of free parking which is well sectioned. Really nice things to buy at affordable prices, overall I would recommend and I look forward to seeing the actual gardens themselves as I imagine they would be amazing.

Being a member means you can drop in for brunch and a quick visit without feeling obliged to stay all day to get your money’s worth. It is so worth it. It’s a beautiful place for walking in all seasons with so much to enjoy. Plenty of parking. Extensive gardens to walk around with many different planting areas - orchards, shaded areas, bonsai, rockeries, sensory gardens, small lakes and streams, forest areas and super large greenhouses with tropical plants

  • 3/5 Andra V. 1 year ago on Google
Is a very nice place for walks unfortunately some areas were closed and especially being winter I had the feeling I could've spent better almost £50 we paid for the tickets. The playground area for children was also closed. Fortunately the glass house was open but with some restricted areas. We still have some pretty amazing pictures taken on a cold, foggy-sunny day. Best to visit in spring - summer.

Beautiful place to visit, some really interesting plants in the glasshouse too! It was quite busy (to be expected on a Saturday!) but it didn't dampen the experience at all. The staff were super friendly and lovely. They make a great cup of coffee too! Will definitely be back! :)

  • 5/5 Kerry C. 9 months ago on Google
Definitely need a few trips to see it all - incredibly busy car park, but the gardens were not too busy. Unfortunately the cafe was, so maybe a picnic would be a better idea. Gardens are widespread, so consider accessibility requirements if need be.

I visited RHS Wisley for the first time a few weeks ago for a wedding I was photographing. I've never been to a place quite like it- the beautiful glass house that we all ate in and danced in was filled with plants and a waterfall! The grounds were stunning with all the plants and rockeries. The staff were so lovely and positive and made the day really enjoyable. I'm very grateful to now be recommended as a Photographer here and I can't wait to return both in a professional capacity but also with my family! Thanks so much, Olly (Olly Knight Photography)

Really spectacular place; I think quite comparable to Kew Gardens. Obviously a lot of money has been poured into the place, but it was money well spent. It is a victim of its own success, in that it has several huge car parks, which often fill up. Several refreshment areas. A striking horse sculpture. Beautiful flower displays, which, obviously, change with the seasons. A giant glasshouse; several waterfalls; several lakes. I recommend this place for a day out.

Wisley is truly amazing. The pinetum is fascinating. So many different varieties of evergreens. The glass house is not very old, but it is exceptionally well designed and planted. The rose garden was in bloom and it was lovely. The shuttle ride from the train doesn’t take long and it was convenient. The garden center at Wisley is the largest and best stocked that I have ever seen. This is a must see gardens

Would be a great spot to spend a weekend with family or those who love plants. The recent new addition of the library and cafe makes it even better to spend more time. The activity based displays in the library building are very good for engaging kids towards nature and plants.

It's been 5 or 6 years since we last came here and it was lovely to be back! Wish it wasn't so far from where we live! I had forgotten my walking stick but there were some wheelchairs available so I used one of those and saw so much more than if I'd have walked. (There are also mobility scooters available but must be booked in advance). It was a lovely sunny day so we saw everything at its best! After reading reviews of how expensive the food was we took our own but did buy an ice cream! We didn't manage to see everything even though we were there from 10:15 to 6:00 so that means we'll have to visit again!!

RHS Glow At Wisely was fantastic. Spectacular lighting displays and light shows, also extremely organised walking routes and well laid out with pathways which allow people to easily move through the event to watch the displays and take photos without causing inconvenience to others. Disappointingly the garden centre and store were not open which is contrary to what was stated on their website, however well worth a visit next year if you didn't get tickets for this year. Well done Wisely.

  • 5/5 John 4 months ago on Google
Well, what can I say. I don't like walking, I don't particularly fond of flowers and trees... But I manage to regularly spend 3.5-4hrs there right throughout the year. It's more annoying with the A3/M25 roadworks now. Nevertheless, there's always something new going on at Wisley. Thank you for your efforts to make it entertaining to visit regardless of weather or season.

Absolutely wonderful time spent at Wisley RHS Gardens evening “Glow” event - on this period until January 2nd. Superbly staged garden illuminations, laser light shows and much, much more. Follow the level walkway all the way round, including the beautiful glasshouse and lake. Afterwards there is a great gift shop and cafeteria etc., and plenty of parking. This is one Christmas event you will thoroughly enjoy.

This gallery has small but beautifully curated exhibitions. Since discovering it we've seen Turner, Cyril Mann, the Scottish Colourists and Hockney. Unlike many bigger galleries it isn't a scrum to get close to the exhibits. The local history section, and the cafe, are great too. Can't believe people complain about the parking. If you're not on Southwestern, I suggest you park somewhere else and take the train to Woking. There's public art in the town (including a War of the Worlds' tripod) on the way from station to the Lightbox. You can enjoy a stroll along the Basingstoke Canal to either Brookwood or West Byfleet station for your return trip to wherever you parked.

Husband's dad got the whole family tickets to go see the lights a few days after Christmas. It was stunning, lots to see and the kids did enjoy it for the most part. It took us about 1 hr to walk around. I especially enjoyed the green house and the fire display. Afterwards we needed to refuel before a long drive home, luckily there's a lovely cafe on site. There's hot drinks, soft drinks, sandwiches, cakes etc. Bathroom facilities were clean and wheel chair friendly. We had a great time, might even pop back in spring to the garden center.

Another wonderful day here always something new to see. This was our first time walking around the new nature garden up by the new laboratory. Really interesting and something different again to see. We also spotted a new (well at least for us) sculpture of some frogs on big leaves in the tropical garden really great. I also have to add that the sculptures that are up for the current Alice in Wonderland event are very impressive and you can see the time and effort that has gone into them. Love coming here and look forward to next time already.

Loved it! Very tranquil place, so many different borders, styles, formal, informal, cozy nooks, trickling water features and woodland walks. Only visited once, so still have some corners left to explore. Can't wait until my next visit!

After ‘hectic frenetic’ afternoon/night in Wimbledon very happy to drop off at RHS Garden Wisley on the way home. Opens at 10:00am booked online at the cafe whilst waiting to open. An amazing place at any and every time of the year. Relatively quiet outside of school holidays. Lots of café and coffee places onsite. Simply stunning, and ‘gold standard’ Garden Centre. Must go back soon.

Fantastic day out at the flower shower. Well organised. We need to go back as we didn't get round the whole of the gardens, just where the flower show was being held. I'd recommend taking a picnic with you as food and drink is quite pricey. But overall a great day out

RHS Wisley has changed - and is improved by those changes - to an enormous amount. It is even more wonderful than ever. Just go!

A most beautiful garden. They had an Alice in Wonderland trail for the children which was an absolute delight. The variety of plants and flowers is enormous and the hothouse was beautiful. A nice shop, cafe and garden centre complete a wonderful day out. Plenty of parking with a section with disabled bays. I can't wait to go back again!

Beautiful gardens, very accessible grounds for buggies and wheelchairs. The toddler loved the open spaces and glass house in particular, and our favourite was the heather gardens and bird spotting in the woods on the far side, it was so peaceful. Loads of cafes within the grounds and the garden centre was enormous! We'll be back soon hopefully. (Visited on 13/01/22)

Nice building, interesting exhibition (Scottish Colourists) but small. Why 3 stars? Parking. There isn't any in Woking at the moment. Look at the Surrey Council website where they have live updates. We went on Wednesday morning outside the holidays and we were very lucky to find a space having tried 3 carparks. I asked the staff about parking and they just yes the carparks are always full! So we won't be going again until the Council puts some of the parking back!!!
