Delicious!! Finally got around to trying Padbury's signature dish, the lemon curd, meringue pancakes- and now I know what all the fuss is about!!! Such a perfect combination, looks amazing and tastes amazing, not overly sweet either! Generous servings! Also...everything goes better with a glass of sparkling wine. 😁👌🏼 Beautiful spot (try get a window seat), great coffee, good service as well as being reasonably priced!! Definitely book ahead- online is easiest!

Nice cosy area. Love the pancakes. It doesn’t only looks good, it smells amazing and it taste great, a little too sweet for my liking, but the textures works really well together. The pancakes alone taste so good I’d actually love to have it plain. Crispy crepe is fantastic, the omelette is soft and fluffy, goes perfectly well with the crispy crepe and coriander, bean sprouts. I would definitely visit here again.

We had a weird experience here last week. 12 empty tables inside, but fully booked. No problem and we said we’d wait. Eventually we got a table outside and that was fine for us. The service wasn’t great after that though with ordering, the staff spent a lot of time standing around and chatting. Even half way during the order they’d stop to gossip about what customers were doing. We enjoyed the food overall despite this. Lots of dirty dishes laying all over the tables but too much chatting to clear them up. When we did leave, even more tables empty inside and still people waiting outside being told that there were too many bookings. They really need to consider cancelling reservations if people are late. Lots of customers who wanted to pay were turned away.

Amazing impromptu lunch while we were in a hike. I had the smashed avo- it was a really good sized portion and was delicious. My husband had the salmon Benedict- his only feedback was that it needed a bit more sauce. Great coffee too. Beautiful building and great atmosphere

First time here and will definitely be back! We came here for their famous Meringue pancakes, and it’s amazing! This is the BEST meringue I’ve ever had in my life (I’m still yang thanks 😛) I’m not a sweet tooth but I can have this pancakes by myself for sure. 😋 We ordered one hot dish and one pancake, they all came together and we had the crispy crepe first, by the time we were having the pancake as our dessert, it still warm, soft and fluffy! Usually when the pancake gets cold it will become hard, but not in this case. With the BEST meringue in my life, I felt like I was in the heaven and there are many angels around me. 🥰 Can’t find any words to describe my feelings. For the Crispy crepe with garlic prawns omelette, if you are not sure can handle the “very spicy chilli” or not, just ask their friendly staff to put on the side for ya while taking order. 😉 10/10 spot on! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Delicious food. You must try the signature pancakes! All dishes are well flavoured. The high tea is exceptional. Staff are always lovely to talk to and friendly. Service is excellent. Great location with good amount of parking spaces for cars. Very convenient to come here for a catch up with friends or quick bite to eat. Highly recommend!!

perfect for sunday brunch catch up with friends! the magic mushrooms dish was scrumptious and generously served. only recommendation would be to have table serve because there are long waits when lining up to order when it’s busy

Love linguine as always. Bagel with egg was good, but smoked salmon was not fresh by the look of colour. Pancake, which was well decorated and attractive but overly sweetened... And wish they prepare suitable sized straw for smoothies as pieces of granola got stuck at the end…

Came here for brunch. Amazing experience. Emma runs the show and ensures the quality is maintained. The other staff are also friendly and we did not mind the 20 min or so wait for the food. The ambiance is amazing, it has a rustic old world charm about it. And the food...simply glorious. We had the big breakfast, and the lemon pancakes, and Paddy's Benedict. All were superb. I was particularly impressed how juicy and succulent the tiny pork sausages were. The portions are satisfying without being overwhelming. Taste wise, easily 9 out of 10. The best secret are the softest cinnamon rolls in the Universe! We will certainly be back for more. Nash Bhullar on the 13th of July 2022

A very cosy place to spend some quality time with friends. Options to sit inside or outside. Tip. Book ahead to definitely secure yourself a seat as it is busy place. The portion sizes were good and the good presentation was great. Taste wise was also good! The food came out pretty quickly too, so the whole experience was good! We wanted to get the padburys hash and switch the bacon for something else to make it vegetarian. The man said he could take off the bacon but not add anything else and the price would not change. That was a bit off I reckon as the bacon would be the costly item of the dish. I questioned why this was and after talking to the manager, he came back and said he could add mushrooms. That was good, but still an odd thing that they wouldn't cater to a minor change that would be cheaper for them anyway AND at the bottom of the menu it says "vegetarian, vegan, gluten free poor just don't see anything you like? Please let us know."

We went pass this place last year, and found out they didn’t accept walk in. Finally got to try it this year - after 7 months. I made a reservation for the sunroom, it is such a cozy place to dine in esp with the cold weather. The food was nice, the bread came with the garlic prawns was SUPER DELICIOUS!!! The prawns are fresh and the garlic sauce is perfect to go with the bread. The only thing I would criticise is the match latte, it was too weak. Service - staff were friendly, and promptly attended to our request. We were not informed that there was a dinning time limit, until a waiter came to tell us we had to leave in 10 mins but we had not finished our food yet. That’s where I minus 1 star.

Located in a beautiful historic building in Guildford the Padbury makes for a fantastic place to take the family for breakfast. All staff were very friendly and welcoming delivering fast service with both drinks and food coming out super quick. The Meringue Munro Pancakes were delicious, with the curd helping to cut through the overload of sugar of the meringue - I'm waiting for the sugar high to kick in :)

Love the food, Sunday arvo extremely busy but good company makes the wait for food easier. Very squishy inside with the line-up to order in the way of other diners. I understand how busy and stressful it must've been for the workers. Dogs allowed outside. Our first time guests were impressed and asked to come back again!

Yummy food, very delicious! Tried pancakes, mushroom magic, smashed avo, everything too good! Must try, always book in advance the place is very packed. The hash brown was also worth a try crispy from outside and soft from inside!

Very pleasant breakfast location. Centrally located in Guildford in a historic building. Staff were a little busy on a Monday morning, as there were just two on front of house. That said, the restaurant wasn’t too busy and the staff did the best they could. Food was well presented and tasted quite good. Coffee was also good.

went there for brunch. It was very busy but the service was prompt. The food was delicious. I had a famous pancake and my partner had a Vietnamese bread roll. My friend could not finish her pancakes cos too large.

Wow. Gorgeous heritage building and delicious food. I absolutely loved their Magic Mushrooms (on their Breakfast/Lunch menu). If you love mushrooms, you will not be disappointed. Guaranteed. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. My wife loved it too - but loved their famous Meringue Munro Pancakes 🥞 even more. I did too. But I’m more of a savoury kind of person. It was our first time at the Padbury’s Cafe Restaurant and we will be back. We took the opportunity after lunch to walk one of Guilford’s heritage trails. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the perfect way to cap off a gorgeous, sunny April Sunday afternoon.

Lunch at this cafe. Nice environment with a nostalgic touch reminding me of places I visited in the 70s. The food was good and the servers were friendly. However, there we too few servers to cater to the lunch crowd. Also had to wait for 45 minutes before the food came out.

Had breakfast in here some time ago and I find it average. I had the meringue pancake which I find too sweet for me and something I wouldn’t have for breakfast as an adult. My partner had the crepe which he was happy with. We went in on a Saturday morning and it was packed and had to wait for almost an hour. We never went back since.

It's a nice little cozy place, maybe too cozy. When it's busy, it is pretty tight inside. Service was good and the food was good. I found it strange that they don't substitute. I ordered eggs beni on a bagel, comes with salmon, but can't substitute it with anything. They dont have ham apparently for any of their dishes. I had to push to change it to bacon when I noticed that on other dishes. Regardless I would still come back. Would live to try all the things on the menu as the food is quite good.

Okay look.... i was very excited to try this place due to my fav breakky spot was closed on a Monday. Not gonna lie, the building! Wow. I'm a fans of the set up. Here's the down part, service was way out of standards. Just not friendly. Did not repeat my order to check on me, I swear I asked my poached eggs to be runny. See pics i have provided, presentation was sweet but then! Look at my eggs! No! That aint runny Yall! Cant blame it on kitchen team, I was not even sure how my server took my order on her mind! Just show us a better show next time! You cant please everyone in the game, but damn it just repeat the order make sure it's right! Got you 2 stars cos i bloody love the building!

Unfortunately didn’t deliver well on the big breakfast. The pancakes were delicious however only lemon pallet on the dish made it very plain over all. Potential to be an amazing place. I loved the coffee 💕

A little surprised. The battered crab slider had a dry bun and a crab with a lot more batter than crab and refreshing vegetables. This is the same with the chicken slider with the chicken being flavourful and dry. I had high expectations of this place and I'm sure there are many wonderful items I would enjoy but this dish was disappointing. If you are to come here, be prepared when it's busy! We waited up to 20 minutes for food.

  • 3/5 Geraldine M. 3 years ago on Google
Over crowded, noisy and service was a little slow. After 20 minutes finally got water for the table and 20 minutes after that our coffee's and not long after, our breakfast. Food was fine but I don't think I'll be back in a hurry.

Amazing. Food was absolutely delicious. Fresh produce and cooked perfectly! The Prawns were juicy and the vegetables crunchy. Baramundi was Crispy and succulent, Lamb shank was falling off the bone. Our waitress was so cool! And we have already booked in for breakfast for tomorrow morning to try the pancakes!

Booked through the web and was seated on time, the staff were attentive and the food came out in a reasonable time. All the meals were of a good size and make fresh. The all day brunch menu is an eclectic mix of Aus+Asia fusion. The pancake stack was a real treat. Enjoy!!

The foods were really great but they have problem with food safety and the attitude of the store manager and owner let every one down. My friend finished her drink and found something metal in her cup. We instantly told the staff there and she was not taking it seriously. We didn’t hear a sorry at first. She acted like this was just a casual issue and we all overreacted. When we asked to see the manager, we were told she was the manager there. No wonder most of the waitresses there were ignorant and arrogant. They offered a 15%off the meal which we didn’t ask for. We would rather receive a better service and a sincere apology then the discount.

Had a very enjoyable lunch here last week. The breakfast/lunch menu wasn’t huge but everyone was able to find something to eat. I had the chicken sliders. They were delicious. It located in a lovely old and very interesting building. It did take a while for our orders to be taken but it was quite busy. We found parking in the street. The staff were very friendly.

I had a Chai Latte and the double sliders with fries for brunch yesterday. (I am a healthy person with no underlying illnesses). I had a lethargic dragging feeling throughout the day. Come evening, I had the worst stomach ache in decades and was nauseated.... I thought I was going to die last night. I will not come back to this place. This place has destroyed my confidence in eating out for a long time. Seven weeks later.. today is (26/12/2020). I did make contact with the restaurant with the supplied address with all the relevant information. I did not receive an apology or even an acknowledgement. I am not looking for compensation in any way. It appears the owner/manager is just trying to tick boxes on a public platform for a one star rating - that they really do care - NOT.

That between-Christmas-and-New-Year period means that the relatively few places open for lunch on a Tuesday get hammered with Customer bookings and walk-ins. This, combined with some unskilled staff and staff who would rather be elsewhere meant our visit to Padbury's was disappointing. We let a staff member know we were there waiting at the door on arrival. That staff member then started serving another Customer who came in later, ignoring us. After getting pointed to a table we had to get our own menus and then had to go to the serving counter to ask if it was table service (which it was) because no staff came near us. We got our own napkins. We had to ask for water twice. Our drinks came 20 minutes after ordering them. The first meal arrived about 5 to 10 minutes before the others. No cutlery was offered - we had to ask. The hot meal I ordered came out cool. One meal came out incorrect. The meals were tasty in spite of the above. Customers with prams couldn't get in or out of the main door without bending down to floor level to undo the bolt on the other door. One Customer with a pram asked a staff member if it was OK to unbolt the door. That staff member said it was OK but stood 1m away at the computer and didn't offer to assist - a small gesture that wouldn't have taken long and been an example of good Customer service. The interior of the restored heritage building was nicely decorated, the air-conditioning was very welcome on a stinking hot day and when we mentioned the cold meal a discount was offered, so thumbs up for that. I understand that hosting a full house during the Christmas break can put pressure on a cafe, but I won't be going back to Padbury's in a hurry

  • 3/5 Ashley W. 3 years ago on Google
The coffee was good and came out pretty fast. The girl on the door was quite abrupt about making bookings and being busy (at 7am with two other patrons) and her attitude almost put me off instantly, but we decided to give it a go because it looked cute. However the breakfast was pretty average tbh. My boyfriend got the big breakfast and the toast was undercooked, the eggs had no flavour (just tasted like water) and the bacon was not really cooked, really limp and sad. For the first time ever I witnessed him stop halfway! I had the pancakes which were a novelty in terms of how they looked, but also were fairly average in terms of taste (sooooo sweet though- like sickly). Overall we were keen to get out and have noted it as a ‘no return’ venue. I think it’s at least a star overrated.

Oh Em Geeee! Great food here, just so tasty! Not a scrap left on all 4 of our plates today. Grilled chicken & roast pumpkin salad with candied walnuts for my 2 friends, Magic Mushroom on sour dough toast with poached egg & hollandaise for another & Crispy Crepe shrimp omelette for me! Yummy 👍👍👍👍 But what we really came for was the souffle pancakes with gooey meringue, lemon curd, honey comb & fig granola (see my pics). Shared between all 4 of us, we all had to dab away the drool 🤤🤤🤤🤤 Service was friendly & layed-back (maybe a touch too casual at times but only after main meals were served) Would highly recommend & will be back to introduce others. Thanks!
