I’ve been 21 for about a month. I was excited to have a good time and play some pool. The second I walked in a was instantly given a hard time about looking young. She came up rude without even seeing my ID. I showed it to her along with my buddies who were also recently 21. She picked at us about our height and weight and just was not welcoming at all. Had she been polite about it all, I would not be writing this. I now understand florida law says you MAY be denied with a vertical style ID, but how am I supposed to know that? I just turned 21. I’ve been in florida a few days now and have bought drinks at other places a handful of times with no issues. The same lady gave a friend of ours trouble about the liquor store next door about opening the door to it. This lady seems to be mad that she has to do the job she’s paid to do. We’ve been coming to Mexico beach for years and this leaves a bad taste in our mouths.

Horribly rude girl working the bar! Evidently tourist are NOT welcome. We were a party of 9 who would’v spent a LOT of money but the girl at the bar was so nasty we immediately left. She didn’t bother asking for IDs for the younger people in our group but rather walked up to us and said “they have to leave”. They were 21 but maybe there’s a min age of 50 at this place as that looked to be the average age group present that night. The whole town is still reeling from hurricane Michael so you would think they would welcome tourists money. Not at this place. As I went to write this review, I saw another poor customer was treated the exact same way just a month before. If the owner wants to prosper he might need to rethink this chick working there. We will be sure to tell everyone we know to steer clear of this place. I will also be informing the rental company we used as they listed it as a place to go. So pathetic.

Great spot for a beer (or three!). Nice sitting area outside. Inside roomy but cozy. Pool tables, electronic darts and a small stage for music. It’s a mix of locals / tourists. They have a fully stocked bar and a package store. They don’t serve food but food trucks park there from time to time. Def worth a stop!

Lookout has some of the rudest bartenders in town. I stood in line for a drink last night, and a guy walks up beside me and the bartender looks over and helps him. When she finally gets back to me she looks straight past me and asked the guy behind me what he needed. It was a single file line and she acted like I wasn’t standing there. My guess is because I’m a women and she only cared about helping the men. My husband walked up a few minutes later and had no trouble getting her attention. This is the second time I’ve been here where bartenders are ridiculously rude! Do y’all forget the biggest part of your pay is tips?!?!

Last night was completely awful.. the bartender with short blonde hair was very rude when asking if we could start a tab, she refused saying that they close in 30 mins.. however, the website states 2am. Also, there was a heavy set female standing at the bar who chimed in staying she worked there, (was obviously off last night) basically verbally attacking the customers. We will never go back there. Spread the word. If you like a little rudeness with some rough around the edges kinda folk.. this is your place! Should be called the lookout for trailer park trash lounge ..

Lookout lounge is gone for now but they will rebuild and we will be there next year. Today we went to a white tent beach party across the street. Folks from Apalachicola brought a slow boil dinner, a keg and local musicians. We met lots of wonderful people here. Mary, Lindsey, Chris and Alex. All local folks. Enjoyed our day so much. God bless you all as you rebuild in Mexico beach. See you next year

The little dive bar that welcomes all guests. From locals to tourists. The only package liquour store that is open late and roattating food trucks daily. Must place to hang out and do some Karoke.

They will rebuild again this beach is even beautiful after a Hurricane has come through there please visit when you get a chance . I love to watch the 🌇 on the beach. We also walked the beach 🏖 it will be cleaned up and be beautiful. I think it was beautiful even with the damage and little bit of debris from the Hurricane.

I spent the weekend in sjb and decided to visit good old lookout lounge Friday night. It was such a blast. A mix of regulars and travelers fantastic service and the best place to drink on the beach. However about 30 mins before closing a group of young drunk entitled ladies and a couple wasted guys showed up and started arguing with the bartender and a few patrons about the company policies. This was quite unpleasant as it delayed my next beverage. Kudos to the bartenders and regulars at the bar who tried to diffuse the belligerent tourists who obviously weren't raised to respect others. Don't miss out on this gem. If the locals are there that should tell you why you should be there too. Remember anyone can leave a review. Even the Karens.

Always a good place to hang out. Fair prices on alcohol and a very friendly staff. Full bar with pool tables and a front deck to watch the road and a little bit of the Gulf water.

Cool neighborhood bar, not very crowded when we were there but a nice group of people.
