They have a multi million dollar collection of all sorts of things from automobile to saddles to telephone equipment to trains and more! There is so much history to see there, it's hard to see it all in one visit. We've been to other historical museums with homes and buildings but weren't allowed inside them. Here, you are encouraged to go inside and explore them. Our only disappointment was most of the items are in non climate controlled environments and will deteriorate faster. The next time we are in the area, we will definitely go visit again.

This place is really a must see! I dare to say one of the greatest in the country? They have something for everyone in the amazing collection of items of the past. From tractors, war artifacts, dolls, collector cars, a train, buildings from the area, school houses, old wagons, cowboy hats, and much much much more! Really incredible to have it all in one place. We spent about 2 hours with a 5 year old and 9 year old. Had we really looked at everything could take days. They have golf carts even for people to drive in to go to each building.

My husband and I travel and work in Colorado 9 months out of the year. We’ve traveled through Gunnison several times and this museum is a must see. Probably one of the largest collections of west slope material we’ve seen. Little gals at the front desk are great and it’s only $10 per adult. We like to give more in their little donation boxes throughout the grounds. It’s a must see!

A fine museum! There is nothing there that is not incredible! The train is in amazing condition as are the classic cars... and there's a lot of them! There is also a considerable amount of war memorabilia of both world wars. The original buildings are amazing too. The grounds are enormous so if you want to see it all, don't wait until late in the day. They even have the old complete collection of 1976 bicentennial 7up cans I collected as a kid! Absolutely worth seeing!

Great place to visit and learn about the pioneer life. We brought 65 scouts out west and this was one of the stops. More than enough to keep them engaged. Well worth the stop if you are driving nearby.

Words cannot begin to fully describe how amazing this museum is. Do not be fooled by thinking it is only the large white building. There are nearly 30 well organized and spectacularly decorated buildings that make this the best $10 you can spend. One of the best museums I have ever visited. The antique car exhibit is worth the trip by itself! Amazing array of Colorado artifacts and exhibits. Give yourself a minimum of three hours to take it all in but DO NOT miss this place.

35 buildings on something like 6 acres. You can't see it all in a day! It was amazing. Really nifty collection of items. We found a picture of my great great grandma and her daughter, my great aunt. The old steam train was an eye opener. How tiny the living quarters were and no room for the engineer to hardly stand, forget sitting! Worth the 19 bucks and definitely worth a visit.

This museum is an absolute delight, stuffed with tons and tons of antiques of all kinds! Such cool collection, that have been curated very well. Very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful staff! They even have golf carts to help get around the vast property! Such a good way to spend a day!

You need a few hours, good walking shoes, and affection for old stuff. So much to see and there has to be something of interest if you have a varied group. My husband loved the cars, I enjoyed the check printer used by the city Fo Gunnison until 2012!

Great collections help bring the local heritage alive. Plan to spent many hours to see it all. They do offer rain-checks for multi-day visits.

Great museum but I think it will take 2 days see everything. Nothing seems to be too trivial to have been saved. Beautiful cars and so many.

Acres of early life in Gunnison. Old 2 story furnished home that is very well displayed. Dozens of antique cars, trucks, mining equipment. Old saddles with a cool hat collection. A doll collection, old trains on display, you name it this place has it. Our group loved every bit of the walk at your own pace museum.
