Found this place while on a cross country road trip and it is easily one of the nicest hostels I stayed at and the price easily makes it my favorite hostel of our whole trip. Wanderlust hostel had a full kitchen where guests can prepare their own food. Bathrooms are very clean and nice to use. Beds and rooms were very comfortable and privacy curtain was much appreciated. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone traveling through the Rocky's. Check in and check out was super easy. I will definitely be returning.

Found this place online while planning our Colorado adventures that took us through Gunnison for one night. I was intrigued and thought the kids would enjoy staying in a hostel. We were not disappointed. A little bit quirky, and very homey and comfortable. Becca was a wonderful host, and we thoroughly enjoyed interacting with other guests. And the price can't be beat. I highly recommend staying here just for the experience. It was fun and one of the highlights of our trip!

Very cozy hostel, always kept clean, and the staff is warm and welcoming. It's pricing is on par with other hostels in the USA, so it's a bit more expensive than European hostels, but it's still reasonable and excellent compared to other vacation rentals in the area. The kitchen is organized and easy to use, which is another huge plus.

I love this place so much. Very chill vibes. Amy and her staff are great. They really make you feel at home here. My brother and I enjoyed our stay! Definitely stay here if you are going to CB , there is a bus that leaves right around the hostel too which is nice. Definitely coming back, thanks !!

I was pleasantly surprised as I have not stayed in a place like this in many years. I needed a place to sleep for the night while traveling through and they were great. Easy to find, parking not a big issue, the beds were clean and comfortable, the staff was welcoming and informative. The fellow travelers were respectful.

This place was so cute, eclectic, cozy, funky and fun. Lots of personality. I stayed one night. It had all I needed. Cozy warm bed. Extra linens provided. Ear plugs which was a great touch. I like white noice and air blowing and I have fans at home and was like man let me get up and ask the office if they have one but it was already in my room. The shower is communal and shared with everyone. There is a half bath too. They had towels. This was really all I utilized. They have a kitchen to cook and fridge to store food. Share dining space and common area inside and out for hanging out. If I come back to gunnison I would stay again. I would recommend.

Cute decor, cozy, comfortable, and within walking distance to nearby restaurants! Reminded me of expat hostels I've stayed at in SE Asia. Next time I'll plan to stay for longer and take advantage of all the amenities while working remotely.

This is my first stay at a hostel outside of Europe. I found Wanderlust very conveniently located within easy walking distance of downtown Gunnison. The rates were competitive. The place was very comfortable, clean, and a welcoming place for all guests to gather and connect in the evenings. My bunk bed was comfortable. I looked at one of the private rooms. I look forward to trying this upon my next visit to Gunnison with my better half. Thank you for the hospitality.

Nice small hostel. I was in a dorm bunk and it was very inexpensive. Seemed like a good place to relax if I had more time. A strong hippy vibe, but not overpowering or weird. I hope I didn't snore...

Great place to stay!!! The owners are incredible people and they make you feel right at home. My room was cozy and the bed was sooo comfortable. Hung out in the nicely lit courtyard and drank a few beers. It was great. This place brought me back to life after getting off the trail!!

My husband and I love the Wanderlust Hostel. It is a homey hostel. We have stayed in both the dorms and private rooms, which are both great. There are shared bathrooms and a cozy living room. It definitely tends to have a pretty chill crowd. It is a great base for exploring Crested Butte, with the free bus stop really close. I used to do a lot of solo travel and would totally stay here as a solo traveler. Crested Butte is so expensive - this is a great deal.

My family and I had a wonderful, cozy night's stay here, this Summer.

Amy and her staff are super friendly, professional and accommodating. I have a CPAP (sleep apnea) machine and they made sure I had easy access to an electrical outlet in the men's dorm room. The hostel itself is clean, neat, and funky (in the best sense of that word: vibrant colors, cool decorations). Within walking distance of everything in downtown Gunnison. Highly recommend. And the adorable house cats are an added bonus!

The Wanderlust is a beautiful, cozy hostel. Amy and her staff are warm, knowledgeable and welcoming. I loved my stay - I met people from Boston, St. Louis, Germany and Australia - in Gunnison. Wonderful!

What a beautiful wonderful space. As a CDT hiker, it was such a nice place to come and rest and reset. Conveniently located with access to groceries, restaurants, etc. The owner even gave a ride out of town for an easier hitch out of town! Love this place!

The place is in a convenient location and I was able to easily catch the free shuttle to Crested Butte to go hiking. Customer service was excellent. I take my Austraulian Sheppard everywhere with me and the staff worked to help get us both accommodated. It made for the best hiking trip me and my dog ever had and appreciate the great service and clean and comfortable accommodations. Was a perfect for for the both of us and we will be back sooner then later hopefully. Ty:)

I just stayed one short night there and I liked the place. Everybody was friendly and respectful. The hostel is clean and access to showers and bathroom was easy and they were clean. Great place to stay and great common/community areas to relax or work.

Great location, clean with a warm homey feel. Close to the supermarket, an outfitter and Taco Bell; what more can a Colorado Trail hiker need?

We stayed at Wanderlust in the midst of a big road trip to see several National Parks. Definitely a welcoming place, and as always it was fun to meet some fellow travelers. They even had a costume closet which my kids were encouraged to make use of. Enthusiastic thumbs up!

I had an excellent stay at the Wanderlust Hostel this weekend - exceptionally clean, friendly staff and guests, and very good value. It was my first time staying in a hostel, and I worry that the experience was SO good that no other hostel could compare... I'll be back, thanks!

Staying here was 100% the highlight of my trip to Gunnison. I was visiting for a quick overnight work trip. For less that $35 I got a comfortable bed, a warm shower, a full kitchen, a great space to work in, free wifi, a fun bike ride, amazing hospitality, and great company. I felt at home, relaxed, and extremely comfortable. Next time I'm in town I won't even think of staying anywhere else.

We're on a 10 day camping trip and I desperately needed a shower 4 days in. We found Wanderlust Hostel and I am SO grateful for their hospitality. $7 for a shower, the hot water was amazing, the water pressure was great, and the bathroom was clean.

Security could use improving. The doors into the building are left unlocked overnight and I wasn't Carded. However, the town appears safe and the other guests were pleasant. The rooms have a great vibe. They are clean, there are three bathrooms to share amongst guests. If you are looking for a cheap stay and not super concerned about privacy, The Wanderlust is your best bet in this area.

Great little hostel, super friendly staff, very clean place. We rented the large private (1 adult, 2 kids) and were just there to sleep. The futon is hard as a rock, so we put an air mattress on top and that made it perfect for the kids.

A great budget friendly place to stay. Very chill and relaxed like most hostels! You can meet plenty of friendly travelers. Lots of helpful guides and pamphlets everywhere. Bathrooms were clean. The decor is eccentric but very comfy. Kitchen is spacious and easy to navigate. Free coffee and tea. Free street parking between the yellow poles out front and some others on the side. Beds fairly comfortable. Rooms had cubbies/cabinets which you could use and bring your own locks. There was no AC in our room though during the summer, only a loud fan which made sleeping kind of hard. Definitely be prepared if you run hot. The jar of earplugs were a nice touch!
