The first Jewel Grocery Store was opened in Chicago in 1899. Sixty-three years later, the first JEWEL-OSCO food-drug combination store opened. There are currently 188 stores in the chain. Jewel-Osco is a grocery, pharmacy, and general merchandise store on steroids. It is gigantic. There are employees, scattered throughout the store, to help you find what you're looking for. The store has complete meat, fish, produce markets, several deli shops, and dozens of checkout and self-serve registers. Starbucks has a large kiosk. Plenty of free wheelchair accessible parking. There's a covered patio to keep you safe from the elements.

Great sale prices and a huge ice cream selection

A very good grocery store. It is very well maintained. You can purchase verity of fresh vegetables and fruits. Good customer service. Starbuck store is inside the store too, it's another big plus.

I got the poke bowl from there. It's okay. The biggest issue with these grocery poke bowls is that their rice is cold and sort of hard-ish because they stayed in the fridge. It's convenient so it's acceptable.

I am in awe at each visit. The shortage in each department must be overwhelming, I applaud the teams positive attitude. On many occasions I have heard them be verbally abused. One example is the deli department. Maybe take some time to think about what they do on their shift, it’s not just the “counter”. The stockers, they don’t just fill our shelves they must rotate and look at each products expiration date. I could list more examples but I think you get my sentiment. Have some patients, thank a team member for being there. Kind words can change everyone’s day. Thank you Gurnee Jewel for all the great service you provide.

Gurnee Jewel/Osco is a great supermarket with nice employees. The deli is really good we love the hot chicken family meals also very nice bakery, floral department and pharmacy. They also have a Starbucks which is wonderful 😀 the bakery makes great birthday cakes which have become a tradition in our family. Thank you !!

-0 stars. I ordered 48pcs of the chicken from the deli for an event. I placed this order in person at the Gurnee, IL location way before the event was to take place- with a young lady. I wrote down all my details When I called to confirm 2 days before the event a gentleman on the phone, he stated there was no order and I probably ordered from another location which I DID NOT because I specifically placed my order IN PERSON. He was not compassionate at all or apologetic about this situation. I had to re-order another 48pcs via phone to pick up was not offered any sort of accommodation for their mistake. Chicken looked very distasteful and I did not receive all 48pcs. I know what 48pcs of fresh chicken is supposed to look like considering I've been ordering pans of chicken from other locations. Looked like something they took out the serving window and packaged up in a rush. They split up a small amount of chicken between 2 oversized aluminum pans to make it feel as if there was more than it really was. Very unprofessional, I am very disappointed at the lack of professionalism from all parties involved. JEWEL OSCO IN GURNEE, IL please do better !

The quality and variety is very good at Jewel! We've done our due diligence and this store has come out in front-you may pay some extra, but it's worth it!

Love Jewels and have for many years. Cleanliness and variety keep me going there. The bargains and coupons don't hurt either. It's only 2 blocks from home. So easy. Love it!

Really nice store everything you want you will find but unfortunately the customer service was not like what I expected I get in line the employee just scans my groceries doesn’t even tell me the total didn’t even bothered to say thank you i got in line and payed and not a single word I heard from him honestly I was very surprised what happened!!

Thank God for Marianos and even Aldi! Every time I try to give the Jewel in Gurnee another chance, they fail me! Horrible customer service and their shelves look like we are still in the pandemic! At least I know I can get the items I need from their competitors! Maybe Jewel will get better when Kroger buys them!

Too expensive.Noosa yogurt is $2.49..$1.99 at the big discount store.Thats just 1 example.Thats a 25% higher price alone.

I like my Jewel quite a bit. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because they leep moving stuff. I find this very irritating

Typical Jewel Osco. The stars of the show are Bibiana, Frank and Lisa in the pharmacy. As seniors, it is important that we are informed regarding our medications and no one does it better than these three.

This Jewel is great. Very friendly and helpful. Especially Kara, who helped bring my groceries out to my car.

I had a horrible experience today in Gurnee location on Grand avenue. Cashier name is Carol. Her behavior could be only compared to a prison employee, not a grocery store Cashier. She was extremely rood unprofessional, and just ghetto. I felt like was not in Jewel, but somewhere in county prison. Carol was the only cashier, so I had a very long wait, and on top of my long wait, I was heavily verbally abused. That unprofessional discussing behavior is completely unexceptional.

This store is starting to look worn and outdated. Staff is friendly enough most times. I only come here now since they have a few items meijer and walmart don't carry. The deli is better than the walmart deli also.

8:15am, shopping is complete and waiting on the bakery to put out a donut. Any donut. Apparently stocking a grocery store at night or early morning isn’t a thing anymore. Half the fresh ingredients we had on our list weren’t put out yet either. Now 8:30am. Just. Want. One. Donut.
