We found a couple of coins in a house that we bought. Never having experienced buying or selling gold or silver in my life we went with the nearest shop closest to us. We got an estimate on our small bundle and decided to get a second opinion. That second opinion gave us quite a bit less than Harbor coin. Needless to say we went back and this dealt with the lady which was also very pleasant. Definitely going back as now we found hobby of collecting little gold and silver bars

The trouble started when I was told near the beginning of my visit that ALL coins in the “bargain bins” were 50% off the prices marked. After spending 2 hours of my time rummaging through and picking out about 40-50 coins , I was then told that the prices of most of the coins in my pile needed to be adjusted for the current price of Silver, and were thus not actually “half off” - I was expecting maybe 1$ at most per coin. Instead, 5$ was added to all but 1 of the half dollars resulting in a 30-35% increase. The junk Silver quarters were repriced from $4.00 to $7.50 - well above spot for a quarter. In a couple cases, the adjusted price was more than what was written on the coin holder. My feedback to the store: If you can’t offer silver coins at half off - that’s fine- but then don’t turn around and say you can when you actually can’t. Signage regarding this matter needs to be more clearly displayed- close to or on the bargain bins. Also, please post clearer payment policies on your website. I drove 45 minutes to the store each way thinking I could pay by check based on the website- only to be told that my coins would be held for up to 2 weeks - admittedly, I could have done my due diligence and called to confirm the payment methods- but the store made no effort to take partial responsibility for the confusion. My bank is out of state, so I am subject to atm fees. As an out of state visitor, I don’t have the option to have my coins held. Overall , i lost a lot of time out of my day over promises that the shopkeepers were unable to keep. I plan on taking my money that I would have spent today to a different coin shop tomorrow . Charge whatever you want for your coins - double the price of everything. Just don’t mislead people !

Not a doubt in my mind that this is the best coin shop in the area. Their service is friendly and informative. They have a very wide variety of different coins from wheat pennies to slabbed Barber proofs! Their inventory is truly impressive. In my experience, it is hard to find an honest shop, that won't take advantage. Highly recommended, you won't be sorry you visited!

Brought in a coin recently purchased from the US Mint that a gentleman took a look at, and we agreed on a pre-determined price we talked about over the phone. A quick, smooth payout and I will definitely be coming back to sell should I get more coins. 100% recommend this shop!

Bottom line: Extremely trustworthy and they pay top dollar compared to other dealers!! I had to sell my parents extensive coin collection (my late father was a coin dealer, I am a novice). My mom was being placed under guardianship and I had to select a Coin Dealer to sell off all the assets. The challenge I chose to select an honest coin dealer was to take 11 graded coins to 3 dealers, compare prices and choose who would get my business. None of the coin dealers knew I had an entire estate that had to be sold. Harbor coin was $2,000 above one dealer and $4,000 above the other dealer. Decision was easy – Harbor coin got the entire Estate. It took over a month to get everything documented and appraised. I would drop off thousands of dollars of inventory at a time to Angela at Harbor coin. I would leave the store and wait until they appraised everything and come and get the coins and appraisals for the lawyers and judge. After the Judge accepted the appraisals, I had to take everything back again to collect the money. Everyone at Harbor Coins was trustworthy ( I did test a few items again). I Cannot stress enough how satisfied I was. I got the absolute best prices for the coins I submitted. My mom can live comfortably in her memory care facility now. Highly recommend them for anyone wanting to sell individual coins or entire estates. The Estate Collection also included Jewelry, stamps, gold watches and a lot of miscellaneous items - Harbor Coin bought it all.

Do not trust these guys!! Went in with 11.02 gram of gold shot which was at 23.8 k on his machine. Except 0.5 that was 22k I think. He weighed it at penny weight and gave me gram spot price for 22k instead of the 985 he should've.. paid $475 instead of $661 spot price for the 985 gold and $28 for the 21.8k.. 28% take for buying gold is not anywhere near the 2% to 4% or the highest being 20%. I feel robbed. In short, they're hustlers no better then the hole in the wall pawn shops in the hood!
