The Südbahnhof in Frankfurt am Main is one of four long-distance train stations in the city. It is located in the Sachsenhausen district of Frankfurt. It can be reached by bus, tram, subway and S-Bahn. In front of him is Diesterweg Square. A very well-attended weekly market takes place here on Tuesdays and Fridays. There are smaller shops in the lower area of ​​the station building. Here you can buy everyday goods, press articles and so on. There is a McDonalds restaurant in the direct entrance area. The public toilets are opposite. The station was opened in November 1873 and comprises 9 tracks with 5 platforms. The station appears clear, well signposted and, almost always, clean.

I have just come back from my vacation relaxed - this relaxation was immediately ruined by the DB when (what else) the train was delayed again. Otherwise I can say about the train station that it is dirty and confusing. Not recommendable.

I think the station is a very modern and well equipped terminal. There are numerous rail connections to the city of Frankfurt as well as to long-distance lines. There aren't many restaurants, just MC Donalds, two cake shops and a lottery. Very insufficient for this station, even outside there is nothing while several passengers pass through this station every day. Perhaps we need to invest more in this area.

Gleis 9 ist eine logistische Katastrophe. Hier haben Zugreisende keine Chance vernünftig Aus bzw Einzusteigen da sich absolut alles an dem einzigen Auf/Abgang staut.

Insanely bad DB switch! The DB employee was rude, unmotivated and nothing he said to me was true. Luckily, a woman who was standing behind me in line noticed this :-) She spoke to me and corrected the DB employee's mistakes. Unfortunately this nice woman doesn't work for the railway, so 0 stars for the railway.

ICEs werden mit Vorliebe über Ffm Süd umgeleitet und oh, welch schöne Überraschung, dort gibt es keinen Aufzug. Millionenmetropole Frankfurt und seit Jahren kein Aufzug am ICE-Gleis... Mehr braucht man nicht zu sagen.

This train station urgently needs modernization!!! It stinks on every corner, no elevators for bicycles and strollers, homeless people and beggars everywhere and not a single drugstore. The Südbahnhof finally has a toilet again. Beautifully designed. Whether one is happy about the lack of male/female separation is a matter of opinion these days. It would be great if the toilet facilities were handled with care, but I doubt that. You can see from the non-use of the trash cans throughout the station.

Übersichtlicher Bahnhof, alles da, was man braucht - außer Toiletten. Das sollte geändert werden!

I was on a trip to Frankfurt with my year group for history or something. When we were at the Südbahnhof, my friends and I bet who could spot a dealer the fastest. Less than a minute later a man came up the stairs on the opposite platform and I immediately showed my friends where he was. Just the way he walked and looked was so annoying. I'm only giving it 4 stars because we actually only saw one.
