Noi Bai International Airport is the airport serving domestic and international flights to and from Hanoi, Vietnam. It has two terminals: T1 serves domestic flights. and T2 serves international flights. I visited both international and domestic terminals. Airport is quite spacious and comfortable. The view from international departure was amazing with rows of mountains. Toilets were clean. Trolleys are numerous for passengers usage. Check in rows and baggage collection bays are numerous. Queue are expected at the check in at several airlines. Immigration queue is expected but not so long for departure. Departing passengers are expecting high security level which every passenger needs to take off shoes for clearance. They were few food and beverages outlets available. But, they should be more international fast food outlets at the international terminal. Sim card and money changer outlets are also available here. Taxi and bus services are available for arriving passengers. For international passengers, as there are few issues on scam drivers, I booked airport transfer service from online travel portal and the service was good and safe. There is also sleeping pods (transit hotel) for transit passengers at international terminal level 2. Transit passengers may get rest here. The minus part is that there is no bathroom at the transit hotel. Location is at the corner so it is comfortable for short rest.

We are visiting this very first time and it is neat and clean. Immigration process took only 2 min and we are out with out luggage. We got some card and got exchange as well. Got the same rate as per google. Overall it was nice experience.

What could be a great airport, is ruined by their pretty bad airport security. Add in a slow terminal shuttle bus to the mix. Visited this airport 3 times. 1 departing experience, and 2 arrivals. There is no option to walk between the domestic & the international terminals. There is a paid shuttle service, or you can wait on the free one. The distance isn’t that far either. A train between them would be best. Security here is dumb, and inefficient. There is a security line to get to immigration, where they check your ID and boarding pass. Immigration will also confirm your boarding pass and ID. Then right after that slow process, you will immediately go to the screening area where they asked for boarding pass and ID. 1 too many checks. Apparently they also do not accept electronic boarding passes and require a paper one. It’s 2023. How is this still a thing. Security also has no idea what they’re doing as they closed and open lines, without realizing they don’t have enough staff to handle another line. This allowed around 50 people to budge in front of us and others as we were at the wrong part of the line. I’ll avoid this airport in the future to fly out of internationally as that terminal is a clusterfudge.

Quiet spacious easy access airport. No complex security check or immigration process. However the immigration officers are bit rude . If there is a hesitation for communication they just behave rudely and throw the passport during arrival. Rest all is smooth and superb.

Not a bad airport, but nothing impressive. The lounges are very nice, but the stores seem to all have the same stuff. Be aware that security is very strict: they confiscated a nail file, a wine opener, and a pair of children's scissors (blunt tip, 3 inches long). In addition, you cannot check in and drop your bags off until 3 hours prior to your flight (at least for Korean Air and Asiana), so don't get there too early.

Collection of very overpriced (that is given at airports but this one especially) extremely low quality food and drinks. Baggage carousel information is non existent on domestic when you come through. International is slightly better but sings aren’t clear, bad placement of the signs for gates, security and everything.

A sleek and new terminal with a plethora of duty-free shops, including Japanese and Korean items. The best part? It’s not overly crowded. I breezed through check-in, security, and immigration in under 20 minutes for my flight back to Bangkok. 🌐✈️ #AirportEase #DutyFreeDelights #EfficientTravel

Decent drop off, quick & easy. Big, spacious modernized airport. Outbound immigrants did take a while to clear each pax. Security screen was relatively smooth. Airport F&B is very costly compared to KLIA, Bangkok, Denpasar, Melbourne, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Singapore, LAX, Orlando, Chicago Midway, Denver, Las Vegas, etc … strange because the tourist food in Old Quarter in Hanoi City and other parts of Vietnam are relatively much cheaper 🤷🏻‍♂️ Yes, airport F&B generally commands a high cost, loading of 20% to 60%. But almost double or triple the cost? 🤔 Hence a mid-level 4 star.

Landed nearly morning! It’s a clean and simple airport. Not too busy! Maybe because it’s too early in the morning. However easy checkout at visa lines! Edit: the departure 🛫 gates are clean and well equipped. Toilets are clean and lot of eating options. Duty free is huge as well.

Be aware if no power/charging port is available in the lounge/waiting areas. You can ask for it in some shops/coffee/stalls, but it's incredibly rare. This should be on the list of administration improvements if they want to reach a higher level of customer service and satisfaction.

We were at the Domestic Side at Terminal 1 which houses Gate 1-17. The lounges between Gate 4-9 were great. However, from gate 12-17 which is a 5 minute walk from the “main” building via a connector. From you get Gate 12-17, its feels like hell. The “AC” were “running”, but its just warm air. The outside temperature was 35c whereas inside… 30c. Neglect of these gates should render them inoperable.

Decent airport with adequate amenities such as charging ports, drinking fountains and clean toilets. Standard overpriced and mediocre eateries. The souvenir shops in the international airport are very expensive with goods priced in USD. The international and domestic terminals are entirely different buildings and might be quite confusing if such details are not checked thoroughly. Also, not all flight information and changes are updated on the billboards in a timely fashion. So do be proactive to seek out information from airport staff / online sources to avoid complications!

The airport is amazingly clean and spotless. The staff are friendly and helpful. The process of immigration and checkin takes less time and are extremely convenient. Love the airport. The duty free shop looks so plush and luxurious. They have developed an amazing airport.

Neat clean and functional. Good mix of local and English language - very helpful staff. The luggage comes in only one belt it seems and flight was not mentioned on the belt. May be signs of scaled down operations post covid but it’s inconvenient. Taxis outside were helpful and convenient. Overall enjoyable experience

Hanoi's airport feels fresh and calm. Big windows let in lots of light, and there's plenty of room to sit. You can shop for last-minute gifts, relax in cozy chairs, or catch some sleep in little private pods. It's a nice spot for a layover, with easy walks to gates.

The airport is lovely, striking a good balance between being spacious without being overwhelming. There are several food options available in the morning, although some of them are on the pricey side. The check-in process was relatively quick, and the immigration on the right side was also efficient. It takes approximately 30-40 minutes to reach the old quarter from the airport.

Today (4/10/2023 at 18h10) I was very very badly received by a rude lady working in the shop. I am a little surprised because during my one week stay in Vietnam everyone has been extremely nice and helpful . This kind of attitude gives a bad image of the shop and the airport. I suggest the owner of the shop to be more careful about his / her working staff. Best regards

The only International Airport in Hanoi, quite far from the downtown, but since the NHAT TAN bridge and the highway have only 30 minutes. The airport is expanding year by year, after Terminal T2, was preparing to build Terminal T3. The plus is toilets are available in many places and are very clean. Duty-free commodities are not a lot of options, as are food and drinks and their prices are quite high.

not well done. You need a printed ticket from the counter. So an online check-in is worthless! The gate was simply moved shortly before boarding, even though one of the airline's planes was there. (Maybe fault by flightcompany) The only plus is the cleanliness. The toilet was really very clean. There is no outside money changer. But after security check

The busiest and largest airport in the North of Vietnam, always crowded. Passangers should be arrive this airport at least 1 hour prior to departure time. Restrooms are clean, there’re many cafes and restaurants inside, but they’re expensive.

Nice big airport with sufficient amenities, lot of shops , limited coffee shops , sat at Big Bowl , I would say it’s not very expensive as one meal( vegetarian pho ) and a coffee cost approximately USD 10/- , yes drinking water could have been cheaper but there is kiosk for free water available, don’t forget to bring your own bottle . Very smooth transfer connectivity .

The terminals are spacious and convenient to clients. The security guys should keep the scam taxis off the wings to remain a good image of Vietnam upon arrival.

Very nice airport. It has 4 floors. Departures is 4th floor and arrival on first floor. Arrival is very crowded. There are shops and restaurants on level 1,2 and 3. Food is reasonably priced. Very well organized.

It's a good airport! But it's far from the city center, biggest bummer. We had a good efficient experience. Still had a lot of things closed but it's worth mentioning that prices are quite expensive past the gate & labeled in Us dollars. Had a very good pho though, and a good caphe den. Retail staff were good at making ax deal to get rid of extra VND!

Long queues formed at Immigration check during arrival. But they quickly opened more counters. We arrived early for departure so that we have time to look around Nou Bai airport. Souvenirs were sold in US$ with better exchange rate than hotel in Old Quarters. Plenty of cafe & restaurants. Vietnamese are very friendly and courteous. Hope to visit again.

A small airport. Items sold at the departure hall are at least 2-3 times more than what is available in town. So try to get them in town before coming to the airport. We went to Bow cafe for a quick bite. It is located at one end of the airport opposite gate 36. Very quiet with free wifi. Good place to get some work done before flying out.

A well maintain facility and was very convenient to move around. Layout was straight forward upon arrival just proceed to the immigration and the baggage pick up area was just after that. Book an ehailing vehicle to the city Hanoi was a breeze and very convenient. The traffic flow in the city is exciting. Anyone with a weak heart will probably get a heart attack looking at how all the car zigzag with tonnes of honking.

Not as huge as other airport terminals in Southeast Asia, but it also means you won’t need to take long walks to your gate. There are a few stores outside and more inside. It’s about a 30-minute ride from the main district of Hanoi. Also pictured is the ACV Business Lounge.

  • 4/5 James Wernicke S. 8 months ago on Google
Nice airport with plenty of counter space. Lots of restaurants after security. Immigration when leaving was very fast but on arrival expect it to be very slow. Be sure your visa name and passport name match exactly, including any middle names.

Nice and Clean Airport! Descent facilities. I had a Good experience here. Nice view of Aero Planes from Departure Lounges! There is a Cheap and Good air conditioned public bus from Noi Bai International airport to City Centre. Grab costs around 240K Vietnamese Dong from Hanoi Old Quarter.

Located c 15 miles from the city centre, Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi is one of the two busiest airports in Vietnam. There are two terminals, and the bus services to the city centre are available regularly from ~6 am to ~10 pm which costs ~VND 40,000. Taxis to the city centre will cost ~ VND 350,000. The airport has flights to almost all the other airports in the country, and also to many other international destinations. The airport area is not very big. When I landed ( and departed from ) here, both at midnight, the duty-free shop and all the restaurants were closed. However, sim shops and money exchange shops were open. Needless to say, at the airport both of these are going to be more expensive than elsewhere in the city. At the airport, SIM plans start at VND 325,000 ( in the city one could get at half this price ), and the exchange commission is ~5.5% ( in the city it's ideally 3% ). There is a business lounge too. The immigration process didn't take much time. Given that the airport sleeps for only 2.5hrs every day ( in the sense, no take-off or landing in that period, ~3am to ~5:30am) ( this context may be applicable to only Terminal 2 which I have experienced ), meaning that it's operational for a large part of the day ( and night ), consideration must be given to keeping at least some restaurants/other shops operational in the premises in the midnight since there is a customer footfall. Similarly, given the above, bus timings ( connectivity to the city-centre) should be extended.

Airport is small but it’s very beautiful but not very option in the food and food is very expensive. Many senior shops you can buy the seniors in very nominal price and there is also many duty-free shop so you can buy the cosmetic perfume in good price only here is problem. Food is very expensive. You need to buy 1 mile. Then you have to pay minimum $10. If you buy the cold drink from some senior shops, you can pay $1.5 for Coke cans.

Noi Bai International Airport is a major airport located in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. It serves as the primary gateway to the northern region of the country. The airport's history dates back to the early 2000s when the construction of a new international terminal began to accommodate the growing air traffic. Noi Bai Airport was officially opened on December 2, 2001, replacing the old Gia Lam Airport that had served as Hanoi's main airport since the 1950s. The new airport was designed to handle both domestic and international flights, and its location, about 45 kilometers from the city center, provided ample space for expansion. Over the years, Noi Bai International Airport has undergone several expansions and upgrades to meet the increasing demand for air travel. These developments included the construction of a second terminal, Terminal T2, which was completed in 2014. The new terminal significantly increased the airport's capacity and enhanced passenger facilities. Today, Noi Bai International Airport is a modern and bustling aviation hub, serving millions of passengers annually. It offers a wide range of domestic and international flights, connecting Hanoi with various destinations worldwide. The airport plays a vital role in facilitating tourism, business, and trade in the northern region of Vietnam. Noi Bai, where journeys take to the sky, A traveler's haven, as planes soar high. With hope in my heart and dreams in my hand, I embark on adventures across the land. Your gates welcome me with promises untold, As I explore new horizons, stories unfold.

Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport is Certified as a 3-Star Airport for facilities, comfort and cleanliness, shopping, food & beverages and staff service. The airport is modern, allows excellent natural light and a very organised check-in area for international Flights. Immigration and security are largely efficient here. Shopping lacks variety and food & beverages can feel a bit of expensive

Arrival and Departure are smooth. (For international) Friends and families can come into the airport upto security to send you off at departure. The airport is clean and restrooms are well maintained. The counters of all flights are easy to find. The immigration officers are generally decent and friendly.

The small international terminal make it so easy and fast to proceed through the immigration, baggage collecting, through the front. The toilete was so clean. Exchange booths and sim card store are handy. Bus stop to the city and taxi rank are just infront of the terminal.
