😐 It was okay but not more. Told us general facts that we could have found in any guide book, no story telling or many cool facts about local life there. But it depends which guide you get I suppose! People often mention Hanoi, tour, guide, great, walking, tours, city, good, coffee,

First time in Hanoi and decided to join one of these on my first day because they are my go-to when traveling in Europe and they tend to give me a great orientation of the city. Everything went smooth -- met Emma at the statue whom later brought us around Hoan Kiem lake, and then through beer street (which looked absolutely different from last night), Dong Xuan Market, Long Bien train station (and bridge) and then stopping at a cafe where I tried the city/nation's famous Ca Phe Trung (egg coffee). Not my favorite thing in the world (it's fine, and probably what I expected of egg coffee, just not something I would order over my typical coconut coffee or just blain ol' black coffee or occasional mocha) but glad I tried it. Emma was fluent in English and helped communicate a lot of the nuances that might have been lost on non-Asian tourists. She was hard working and took care of everyone really well, and had a really positive and fun energy about her. Towards the end, she also gave us a lot of recommendations, including for the vegan/vegetarian tourists. I took one of her recommended cafes for train-spotting on Train Street a few days later and had a great evening being intimidated yet fascinated by the passing steel behemoth so close to my face. All in all, I would recommend this; Emma was great!

This tour really learned us a lot about the green lake, temple, statue from the liberty of the French colony and how the people used to live here. Next to this Sara, a real local, showed us too how people live right now which was very impressive. Also the food market with the living animals she really gave us a feel how life is. Definitely a recommendation.

Sara did an amazing job showing us around Hanoi! We ate different street food, explored markets, temples, tiny streets and ended up in old Town, watching the train going by while drinking a coffee. It was the perfect start into Vietnam. Thank you so much, Sara! You can text the company on the website or sara directly: +84 96 704 79 25

The guide was chatty and doesn’t know how to story tell. Stop us and talk in middle of crazy traffic and showed us to a stall that sold dog meat with no warning …. Probably one of my least favorite walking tours. It was also impossibly hot and a 2.5 hour trek. Not worth it.

Free walking tours are always nice to get a good overview in a city. This one in Hanoi was great! We met our guide and started the tour with the focus on the old quarter. You need to calculate 30k entrance fee for the temple, your drinks and the tip for your guide in the end. Shaw was the best tour guide we ever had! The tour was about 3 hours and at the end we stopped at a cafe to try the famous egg-coffee and to have a nice chat. Shaw answered all our questions during and after the tour and knew a lot about the places we went to and about Vietnamese culture/lifestyle in general. It was so informative and also very funny. Great humour, great tour! Thank you so much! It has exceeded our expectations, very recommendable!

Superb Guide. Extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. We saw parts of Hanoi that we would’ve never otherwise seen and learned so much about the history and culture of Vietnam.

Emma was a nice guide! Very spontaneous and made good contact with everyone. Her English is also very good. Nice that she also shares the photos privately with you afterwards via WhatsApp!

Vian is an excellent guide. For a very young person, she has a lot of knowledge and a lot of courage. Fluent English. No question was left unanswered. I have been on many walking tours and this was definitely one of the best. I hope to only be guided by people like Vian. After the tour she also shared a list of her favorite food options in Hanoi. What more can you expect?

We've done more of these around the world and it's commen that you give a tip at the end. Normaly you deside. But this time first they emailed a confirmation in wich they said they expect you to pay between 10 and 13 dollars. And when you haven't read it they point it out at litterly ask for more. This is not my definition of a free walking tour. As well we've had better ones.

Fantastic morning exploring the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Sarah was very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. She gave us great insights into the history, culture, and everyday life of Hanoi. A highlight was trying special treats like jelly desserts, candied fruits, and sweet donuts. Thank you Sarah!

I usually find walking tours to be a quick way to get to know a city. This one was fantastic, educational and never felt too touristy. Great thank you Sara.
