Pretty disappointed in our highly anticipated visit. My husband and I are in Munich for one night on our European Honeymoon vacation, we booked our reservation at the Mahjong Rooftop months ago directly through the hotel. We were looking forward to the amazing view (which was incredible) and the delicious looking menu, and had planned our entire evening around our reservation. When we first sat down and looked at the menu we found that only a small sushi menu was being offered now, rather than the decent sized menu I had looked at previously ( that we had already chosen meals from because we were so excited!). A male server came over right away and was enthusiastic, got us our first drink within a few minutes. That was the last time we ever saw him, or was visited by any other server. It seemed that perhaps our male server had gone home for the evening and didn't tell anyone about us so no one knew to come over to us or continue our service. We let our drinks run fully dry and waited for at least 15 minutes, if not longer, before we finally had to flag down a female server to ask for another drink. We had determined that we would get our second drink and perhaps order some sushi for just my husband (as i am not a seafood eater) when we got our drinks. After waiting at least another 15 minutes, at least, I eventually went up and had to flag down the same female server again and just ask for our bill because we felt again that we had been completely forgotten, and didnt even know if our second round had been rang in or even made by the bar. We also had now been here for a full 60 minutes without being offered any food to eat, and with being forgotten twice it felt, we weren't going to wait around for food to see if we would be forgotten again. When I asked for the bill, the same female server didn't know who we were and it looked like she had forgotten to ring in our drinks because she went and talked to the bar and quickly got them brought over to us. After leaving cash for our bill we left and received no goodbye or thank you from anyone....it was quite anticlimactic and disappointing. For 44€ for two beer and two mocktails (which is $70 CAD to us), it was completely not worth the effort, the hype, or the money we spent to enjoy this experience.

I always wanted to go to this terrace and finally I found time. I was amazed by the spectacular view of München, which is the best thing in this place. Unfortunately, there are some things, which were not that high 5 Stars level. We were lucky enough to come earlier for sunset and we got in without reservation, because around 10 pm the place was already crowded, with sophisticated people :) Space is tiny, tables and chairs are very close to each other, so not much personal space. No complains about drinks, just delivery took a bit longer. Here comes the funniest part about service - as we were waiting to be seated the administrator warned us that „do you know that here is expensive“ 😂 This comment challenged me to overspend 😉 It looks to me that we knew better where we came to instead of stuff knowing where they work at 😂 I have been in 5 stars hotels not only in Europe, I could not believe people working here could even start the price topic when there are no any issues with payments at all. My honest recommendation to train stuff to the certain level not to get further shamed about reputation. Anyway, enjoyed the evening, was worth to check, but will check other roof tops before deciding if it is worth to come back here again.

Let's start with the good. The Food was delicious. I had the Octopus & Sea Bass for a starter. Ordered it again because it was so tasty. Music was fine and amenities were also good. Sadly there wasn't anything else standing out positively. When we arrived to our spot, there was one very small table prepared. Not really enough for a group of 8 people, but we made it work. During our stay the waiters weren't really available. Sometimes we had to get up ourselves to order. When waiters were available, they forgot what we ordered. Multiple times. Before we were able order all our meals, the kitchen closed. To be fair, it's stated clearly that the kitchen is only open until 9:30pm, but a notice would've been good. Well, on to deserts and drinks then. At least that's what we thought. One of the two deserts wasn't available. The other desert was short on ingredients thus not available for all of us. Ordering Espresso Martini wasn't possible either since they run out of Espresso. Well we ordered other drinks which were hard to enjoy since there was no lights available at our spot. Complete darkness. We had to use our own flashlights in order to see each other. And that basically wraps it up... The Manager seemed cool though and got us a place at the hotel bar downstairs. Props for that! Overall a very disappointing experience. Can't recommend for a group that plans to spend 4 figures.

Stunning view of a beautiful city. We turned up without booking to see the sunset and were accommodated by the loveliest staff despite it being very busy. We only stopped for a few drinks, but couldn't recommend it enough if you want the best view of Munich in a serene, friendly atmosphere.

Great location and atmosphere but unfortunately service seemed overwhelmed, it took ages to order drinks, for the food ordered the waitress informed us after 45min waiting that the kitchen did not have it and closed in the meantime. Not sure we'll come back

Make a reservation and make sure you come in time otherwise your table is getting cancelled automatically. If you are lucky you can get a table by not prebooking. The view is stunning and so ist the Ambiente. The cocktails are very nice. Food is very pricy. I was having prawns with quinoa ans my friend a duck was good, special but ok. I liked the desert but also the flavour of it is not usual. The service is ok but slow with the food I found. The seating took a little longer and there the service was so so. I expected it to be more like a 5 star ⭐️ for this place is was more beach feeling. Love the music still nice to chit chatting and watching the surrounding

As a member of MO fans, tots dissapointed with the service from the concierge that was bias and rude not allowing our friends to the Mahjong bar indirectly, saying they were under dress that Mahjong bar is closed due to the weather whilst we were already sat there having our drinks. Btw they were dress smart casual just not as fancy as they're on holiday hoping to catch up with some friends who happen to be in Munich. This shouldn't be happening from a 5 star hotel acclaimed of the best hospitality around the world. We'll be spreading our words to all our friends around the world about this uncalled door hospitality!

Romantic, amazing views, great cocktails and amazing food. But quite on the expensive side

We decided to go here spontaneously on a Sunday evening. Went around 19:30 and even though they were booked fully for reservations they still gave us a spot at the bar which ended up being very comfortable as we enjoyed the sun in our faces. We ordered a bottle of white wine (60€) first and then asked if they had Liquor 43* which they didn’t but the bar tender suggested drinking Frangelico which we even liked better. The sunset was beautiful, there was great music and it was quite busy. We also loved the view and the decoration. Recommend!

The location helps create a romantic, calm atmosphere. Although the service is slow at times, it doesn't take away from the incredible view and the general vibe.

I only had cocktails here and they were good. The view is stunning, ambiance was nice🫶🏼

It was OK.....lots of bees buzzing around. Expensive a tad bid in need of a carpet cleaning. Sysff was great.

Heard it was the best rooftop view in the city. Well, I can’t say it is, but it sure has a very nice 360* view on Munich old town! Cool vibe, nice terrace, but the drinks were way too sweat, even if we asked to be less sweat when we ordered. Lastly I was surprise to see the staffs’ (very) casual outfits… since I’m a regular in many MO in the world, and I happen to work with a MO as well, this is not something I usually see in this hotel group.

Top: - location in the city center - fantastic view - friendly staff To improve: - offer (food and drinks). Choice is limited. - quality. Only had drinks. Prosecco, Sprizz, mineral waiter. Really disappointed about the quality of the Prosecco and Sprizz. Especially paying €21,- for a Sprizz. - prices even tho I understand it’s mandarin hotel. The quality just doesn’t match. - cleaning. Toilets and entrance of the rooftop dirty and smelling. - decoration. Can do much more of this location but probably not needed since always well visited and hyped. I cannot recommend this place.

It’s the best spot to watch a sunset here in Munich. Nice atmosphere and good food. Don’t miss your chance to try a tuna bowl. But I think, the prices are all jacked up.
