An amazing experience we had here. Brian was so welcoming and gave us a private tour of his gardens which has an abundance of life. Brian and Lorna have so much knowledge to share about their gardens! So many fruits, vegetables & life.. Recommended for everyone that's keen to know a bit more about the fruits and plants of Jamaica. They also have a family of Hummingbirds which if you're lucky will come and drink water off your hand.

Highly highly recommend. We have two young kids (ages 2 and 5) and we hired Karandas tours to bring us to the plantation (highly recommend Adrian who was a wonderful driver.) It is a much better price than going through the resort itself for some reason. The plantation itself is teeming in so many species of fruits and plants. It was so interactive for the kids and they were using all their senses to see, touch, smell and eat the whole time. We tried so many fresh fruit, juices, coconut and sugarcane. Had a blast seeing so many hummingbirds as well. We couldn’t thank the owners enough (Brian took us around). One of our best experiences on the island for sure.

Best Tour in Jamaica - beautiful gardens, passionate and knowledgeable guides, and a hummingbird whisperer than can call hummingbirds by name to come to her! This tour was so interesting, educational, and fun! Lorna and Brian add so much to everything you get to see, taste, smell, and sample - it's a great value, and shouldn't be missed!

Wow, what a lovely tour of the farm! This is one of our favorite experiences on the island so far. Brian is very knowledgeable and taught us so much about the fruits and spices growing in Jamaica. We ate and smelled our way through the tour, then got to taste some more samplings of fruit the family had prepared for us. Brian is clearly so passionate about his work, as is his mom whom we briefly met. We also got to meet some hummingbirds, one of which came for a very close visit to dip into the feeder nearby.

A wonderful visit which included a short walk to the river with majestic bamboo on the bank. The garden has several ornamental and fruit trees, including giant lemon, tangerine, and cherry

One if the best activities to do in Jamaica! Very interesting tour, generous and lovely hosts. We had a very special experience here. Very reasonably priced too, compared to everything on the island.

We loved the plantation. It's a beautiful place full of subtropical fruit trees and vegetables. They have so many beautiful hummingbirds; each assigned to a different tree. We were able to feed them from our hand. The family that runs the place is lovely and very attentive

I had an incredible time on this tour. The bus ride from the resort was interesting- you get off of the main roads and see some interesting, lush neighborhoods. Brian, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and hilarious (and I'll forgive him for picking on New Jersey so much). Ate the most delicious pineapple I've ever had, and had some great fresh pressed juices. The hummingbirds were enchanting. Just go!

We did everything there is to do on the island and this tour is by far the best experience if you have any love for fruits. It was amazing! Brian knows everything about the plants and fruits, and was able to answer all of our questions. He is very entertaining, funny, and has a lot of knowledge of other stuff as well. Snacks of the fruits we saw and fresh Mango and Coconut juice were provided afterwards. I have been to other farm tours but this was by far the best. Extra bonus: Hummingbirds and Lizards! Must see location in Jamaica. We drove all the way from Montego Bay, and it was totally worth it!

You HAVE to come here i learned so much about the fruits and plants that grow in Jamaica, it has been my favorite experience yet and we are on day 3 of exploring the island! It was nice to pay for this service as it is family run and super friendly! I just can’t say enough, walked around their farm with Brian and at the end we got to sample all the fruits in season. PS hummingbirds are territorial so they all do live their and have name :)

Steven here! THIS PLACE, talk about magical. I've never been so pleased with a tour. This is by far the best tourist experience we had in our 14 days in Jamaica. We felt super welcomed by the owners (mother and Son-. I'm really sorry I forgot your names! :( ) and we learned so much! Super informative, fun, beautiful, fruits and juice ( all grown on the property), HUMMINGBIRDS. Really, a must visit if you're in the area. And even if your not, go there, haha. 15/10 see you next time! <3

Probably the best thing we did on Jamaica. Set in a former banana plantation, which now mainly grows coconuts, it contains a fascinating large collection of fruit, nut and spice trees local to Jamaica and from around the world. Also home to a large number of beautiful hummingbirds who dart around you. At the end you get to try a selection of the produce from the trees. What makes the visit so special is the knowledge and enthusiasm of the guides. Oliver our guide shared not only information about the plants and trees, but the history of Jamaica and the local area. We were also lucky to be joined by the proprietor, Lorna, who was simply the nicest and most interesting lady, full of knowledge, stories and passion for her home. $20 per person.

Such an incredible place, everything is fresh from the coconut water, to the hummingbirds coming to drink off your hand, to the natural grown fruits/vegetables, historical stories behind everything around you( cocoa, coffee, nutmeg, grapefruit, neasberry apples, star fruit, etc)

An extremely and enjoyable way to spend a few hours! Brian was a charming and informative host! While the property covers 30 plus acres, you’ll spend time in a close in circle viewing, smelling and tasting the many wonderful things growing on the property. Brian talks about the history of the property, once a banana plantation exporting exclusively to Great Britain and how and why things changed over the years. You’ll learn about the uses of various plants by the locals, see some native lizards and hummingbirds among other things. And you’ll be treated to some wonderful juices and fruits as part of the experience. Well worth the $20 requested for the tour.

I had a wonderful time during my visit to Sun Valley Plantation in Jamaica. This excursion took us to a banana plantation and offered a pleasant experience that highlighted the beauty of the land and the local culture. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at ease. The tour began with a leisurely stroll through the plantation's lush landscapes, where rows of banana trees created a serene atmosphere. A delightful aspect of the visit was the chance to taste a variety of native fruits. The freshness and flavors of the fruits were a true delight, offering a genuine glimpse into Jamaican culinary traditions. The guided tour was both informative and entertaining. The guides, with their humorous anecdotes and local insights, made the experience engaging and enjoyable. Their passion for the plantation and its history was evident, adding a personal touch to the excursion. At the end of the tour, a simple meal was provided, showcasing the flavors of Jamaican cuisine. It was a pleasant way to conclude our time at Sun Valley Plantation. In summary, my visit to Sun Valley Plantation provided an enjoyable and educational opportunity to explore a banana plantation in Jamaica. The serene surroundings, native fruit tastings, and friendly guides made for a pleasant outing that I would recommend to others looking for a relaxed and authentic experience.

Such a great tour! The amount of different fruit trees on this one property is amazing! I can bet there will be at least one plant/fruit there you’ve never heard of before or have been able to taste before. Lorna gave us our tour. She’s so pleasant and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot from her. We were treated well, from start to finish. I would 10/10 definitely recommend !!

This is an excellent tour worth every minute of the time spent, I went with a friend and we are both Jamaicans and this tour brought back several childhood memories. The diversity of the fruits and flora was astounding. The interaction with our guide was excellent we could talk about the history and the seasons of the plants. She spent time to explain the history of the plants how they arrived on the island. The feasting of fresh fruits in season was very refreshing. The humming birds have names and personality lol. I would encourage tourist and local to add this tour to your list you will come away relishing the experience thanks Nolly and Lorna.

Such a wonderful experience in Jamaica. Before I came to this country this is exactly what I was dreaming of seeing. This is my dream "garden", to see all the different vegetation and get to taste freah fruits and juices. We learned so much from Oliver, he is such a kind and friendly person, very knowledgeable when it comes to the plants, their usage and history. He is so patient and he does the tour with no rush and takes time so we can experience, enjoy and understand the nature around us! I loved hearing his stories about the plants, how Jamaican people use them as a medicine and in cuisine. A lot of plants I saw for the first time in my life, but many of them I saw for the first time in their natural habitat and that's not comparable as seeing them in botanical gardens! I loved smelling cinnamon, bay leave, vanilla, lemon grass, coffee beans, peppermint... Fresh mammee and guava juice and coconut water were to die for as well as fried plantains, breadfruit chips, coconut meat (both, jelly and mature) and sugar cane sticks- these are some of the nutritive and delicious treats we were served with. I have huge respect for people who treat nature in such a way, with a lot of care and giving it priority!

Definitely worth a visit. Educational and entertaining. After having seen them on the trees, you get to taste an assortment of tropical fruits. If you are already a botany expert, let them know in advance and they may be able to select a guide accordingly.
