This lighthouse is simply adorable! It's exactly what you picture when you think of a lighthouse! The views are amazing from every side. I definitely recommend making the trip to see this fantastic lighthouse if you're visiting Brier Island. It is easily one of my top lighthouses of Nova Scotia!

This is also known as the Western Light and the most westerly spot in Nova Scotia. A great place to jump on the rocks and breathe in the fresh air of the ocean. There are a lot of crevices to explore and the rocks are 'grippy'. However, it is highly recommended that you stay off the black rocks as this indicates that those rocks are slippery and/or could experience unexpected waves. The lighthouse itself is almost 60 feet tall but not much to get excited over.

Actually been here before, a long, long time ago. Not much has changed - which is good. Only a few other cars and we barely saw another person. Peaceful. Quiet. Cool ocean breezes. Nice!

Visiting Brier Island Lighthouse was an unforgettable experience that left my partner and me in awe of nature's splendor. Nestled on this remote island, the lighthouse offered an enchanting escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From the moment we arrived, the panoramic views stole our hearts. The sight of the lighthouse perched atop the rugged cliffs, overlooking the vast expanse of the ocean, was simply mesmerizing. The hues of blue merging with the sky and sea created a picture-perfect canvas that seemed almost surreal. The refreshing sea mist that gently kissed our faces as we stood on the property was a revitalizing experience. It brought a sense of tranquility and connectedness to the natural world around us. The sounds of crashing waves against the rocks below acted as a soothing symphony, allowing us to momentarily forget our worries and immerse ourselves in the present moment. The atmosphere at Brier Island Lighthouse was nothing short of rejuvenating. The peacefulness of the location allowed us to unwind and appreciate the simple pleasures of life. Watching seabirds gracefully glide through the air and hearing their calls added to the serene ambiance. The lighthouse's accessibility was also a pleasant surprise. A short, scenic 10-minute drive from the main road led us to this hidden gem. The journey itself was a delightful exploration of the island's natural beauty, making the destination even more rewarding. As we prepared to head out on our Brier Island whale watching tour, the beauty of the lighthouse remained etched in our minds. It truly set the tone for the rest of our adventure, leaving us with memories we'll cherish forever. If you're seeking a destination that embodies the breathtaking beauty of the maritime region, Brier Island Lighthouse is an absolute must-visit. Prepare to be captivated by the unspoiled coastal charm, the calming sea breeze, and the enchanting allure of this picturesque spot.

Beautiful. Gravel road out there, but well maintained. The only knocks are 5 are no plaques or other signage talking about the history of lighthouse, and you can't go in. The latter makes sense since you would need someone staffed there, and I imagine it isn't very busy. At least it wasn't the day I was there. I was waiting for family on the whale watch tour and figured something named Lighthouse Road might have a lighthouse, and I was right. I just wish there was more info about the place. It is a great view and a great place to take pictures. There are hiking trails that start or end at the Lighthouse.

Whenever I start to feel anxious I head to the island. I've walked many of trails and always see something new. I love every place from Digby to all the little coves. This is one of 11 trips I make yearly including 2 Whale watching 👀

a good place to see whales. the staff is helpful and friendly. the boat is comfortable, there were a lot of whales. add at least an hour and a half to the time due to ferries. it is better to arrive early, you can see a lot of things on the island itself. the nature is very beautiful.

This is a lovely little lighthouse in the classic Nova Scotia style, however it only gets 4 stars because of the lack of signage.
