They have the softest pita bread ever! The hummus is also absolutely delicious. Love this place.

Worst chicken shawarma ever had. Ordered 4 shawarma plate. The guy who owns the restaurant trick us by filling the tray with lentil. Not reliable neither ethical. We throw the 4 boxes in food waste bin. Waste of money. Not recommended.

Not authentic food at all, no Fatayer at all available and uses dill pickles not tastey. Healthy appearance, undercooked chicken kabob taste like water. No season. Hummas is ok and the owner is super nice, so I couldnt complain about anything but I would not recommend ever.

Oh my goodness have I never felt so good after going out! The food is so clean and authentic that even with digestive issues it felt like I wasn't eating out after. Best pita bread in Halifax no question. Everything about it is perfect from the texture to the fresh steam blowing out when you take a bite. The plates are so filling, healthy, delicious, and the portions are great. As an Arab from Lebanon I can proudly say that the Man'oush is amazing beyond amazing and though I prefer cheese, they are all amazing. It's also the perfect restaurant for someone who is Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegetarian, or Vegan because of the plates. I don't care who you are, where you live, or what you like, go down to Saj House for a visit and you won't regret it, I promise.

If you want fresh food and quality this is the restaurant for you. Its so dam fresh and amazing. The food is delicious it will leave you speechless. The chicken shawarma is so good !!! The fresh made pita is so light and fluffy. This is the only Middle Eastern restaurant you should eat at. 10/10 food and service.

My wife and I tried this recently. We spent about 50$ on a couple different dishes. Wasn't our cup of tea and I did not feel the best after eating there. The food really wasn’t good at all. Very blend and tasteless. Nothing to do with being authentic food when it makes you sick and taste very badly.

Food and atomosphere was good, I asked the employee for a napkin and she handed me a paper bag, im not upset about it, and it’s okay, maybe she didn’t understand what I had said, still very great!

Outstanding food at a great price. I had the Chicken Shawarma plate, and it was very good. You could tell that it had fresh ingredients. Also had a Veggie Samosa, great value for the price. I will be ordering from here 3 times a week from now on. Thank you for your efforts!

Tried their chicken shawarma and Kafta wraps for the first time. They were amazing! We rarely eat outside because pretty hard to find consistent quality middle-eastern food around. Always miss and hit, so am hoping this isn’t the case here. So far 5/5 for sure! Also the freshly baked bread is amazing in the wrap. Definitely going to go back to try other items.

It's the most descent shawarma that I have had so far since I came to Halifax and it's all disappointing until I found this place. high quality ingredients.. the only thing is I wish they offer potatoes and not french fries.. that ruins it for me but other then that ---- its a 5 star shawarma. Hope you reconsider to change the fries. The man 'oush a must try!

Fresh, tasty food made with such care. Shawarma is one of my favourite foods and it has been missing in my life since moving home to the Valley. What a treat to have such fresh, house made pita. The service was excellent and the whole restaurant is absolutely spotless. They obviously really care about their product AND offering their customers a great experience. Can't wait to come back.

Pretty disappointing, took a while to order as there seem to be no staff present? sat around for about 30 mins waiting for my food to be cooked, I ate it about 5 minutes after receiving it, it was stone cold. Waste of $23 I ordered the chicken shawarma poutine, almost no fries, filler of cheese curds and gravy + garlic sauce, barely any chicken.

I will give a four star because the service is good. The Shawarmas and Falafel wraps are a little bland for my taste. Using Frank's Red Hot sauce isn't the best idea either. Go with more authentic spices.

Nice and clean. The best item on the plate was the bread. Salad is also good. The meat portion is very little compared to the price. Advice to the restaurant management that is to be more generous in their serving portion.

I've been here twice for lunch. The first time I had a small chicken shawarma wrap (all I needed for a lunch size portion), and the second time the chicken shawarma bowl (it's like a chicken shawarma salad). The food was great both times and the staff were pleasant. They gave us some samplers of the fresh falafel, and it was legit the best falafel I've ever had! I'll be getting the falafel plate for sure next time!

I ordered a chicken kebab bowl and I didn't realize it was a salad. The chicken tastes amazing, however, there is no rice and it doesn't come with a pita, so there are no carbs. I'm not really sure why it's marketed as a "bowl" because usually those come with some sort of rice or bread. I was very disappointed because I paid $17 for a salad, which was marketed as something different. Mezza's bowls includes rice, pita and salad for the same price. I saw on a sign that the restaurant makes its pita fresh, and was really looking forward to that, and sad the meal didn't include it.

Save your money, stingy place sprinkle of ground beef on my manoush🙂

I was very impressed by this little hole in the wall! The falafel burger was amazing but the lemon potatoes and salad really stole the show. They're famous for their flatbreads which also look really good. It's tough to find quick, affordable lunches that are vegan and delicious so I'll definitely be back.

I've never left a restaurant review, but I think I need to in this case. Everything I've had there has been exceedingly fresh and delicious. Their man'ouche offerings are great, and always generously topped. My go-to order is their shawarma bowl. As a huge shawarma fan, I have tried my fair share of shawarma offerings around the HRM. This place stands out. The bowl contains a significant amount of food... I can eat a lot, but I typically have leftovers when I order this. It definitely feels like a good value for the cost. The chicken is tasty, and is not overly thin or crumbly, or greasy, as some shawarma shops offer. The salad is particularly note-worthy. It's called a "garden salad" on the menu, but is much more similar to a Persian salad. There is no lettuce in it, which I really appreciate. It's small cubes of cucumber, tomato, green bell pepper, and thinly sliced radish, lightly dressed with a vinaigrette-seeming dressing. The veggies are always fresh. I typically order this with a pita on the side, and they are likewise impressive! They are made in-house, and are always fresh. They are more billowy/thick than a store-bought pita, but are soft and delicious in their own right. I also love the hummus here. It's thick and smooth, and is not made with canned chickpeas (as is common-place) but rather, through cooking and processing dried chickpeas in-house. This extra effort makes for a noticable difference in overall taste. The attention to small details in quality and production techniques are very evident here. As well, the staff are always efficient and friendly.

First time there and I had the vegan dish. I enjoyed it very much. Clean and friendly. The pita bread was freshly baked. Try it 😉

**edit: August.20th/2023: Ordered a later take out through uber, at no fault at all of the restaurant it took long because the driver didn't arrive. I had problems with my cell phone and ended up missing a few calls from the restaurant, I ended up getting one once adjusting my settings and b/c they were closing and no driver was yet to be assigned, the worker offered to deliver my food. That was very sweet, and appreciated. It was ~15 minutes so I said no and went and got it myself. The workers waiting after close were super friendly and did not make me uncomfortable for ordering close to closing. Despite the errors with uber the food still tasted hot and fresh, thank you Saj House! The best food I swear I have ever purchased in my life. Fresh, tasty, good temperature (I got takeout) food. The garlic sauce and tzatziki is to die for, the pitas are SO delicious, fresh and soft, and as someone who also works in the food industry service I appreciate an owner who stands up for themselves when other people try to tear down the hard work, referencing to a rather negative review I seen earlier. After tasting it, I am even more bewildered to anyone saying anything negative about this place! Go support this lovely restaurant!

Have only ordered their hummus & beet hummus & fresh, hot pita for a snack in at Village Taphouse, but it was all delicious, so I'm anxious to order more & it will be soon. If I may suggest, in order to take advantage of folks in the Taphouse looking for snack food: Saj House owners might want to add to menu a take out mid-east snack option of hummus, cheese, pita bread, olives, etc. I think this would be a big hit for patrons of Village Taphouse & Saj could make a mint on it!

I’m already looking forward to eating there again! They just opened in my neighbourhood and will probably be my go to takeout spot. The shawarma wrap was great, super fresh and the pita bread was delicious. Highly recommended!

I was a regular but that seemingly becomes a problem after a while? Management became cold to deal with. At first very very nice, than not so much?? I asked for something extra on my food, assuming I would be charged of course, wasn't looking for anything free but I was promptly told not to ask for that lol. I spent a lot of money here and I never even ate in the restaurant once. Not even making a mess inside that place once, I always grabbed to go just being considerate and still had these experiences. Interesting place/vibe however, that being said the food is incredible and highly recommended.

Delicious Maneesh (flatbread). Loved the BBQ chicken, and LahemAjeen. Huge servings, and everything we tried exceeded expectations... The flatbread itself is so soft and delicious, and the toppings and spicing are done to perfection. Now that I've read the other reviews on here, can't wait to go back and try their other menu items!!

ordered a chicken shawarma plate and the majority of the plate was lentils and then a few pieces of shawarma on top. We did not order lentils!!! Wasn't impressed at all and won't be coming back to the place .

I visited this place 4yrs ago and it was fantastic. Unfortunately, it has lost all character and the food was quite bland. The lettuce was definitely a few days old as it was brown and soggy. The falafel were disappointing.

If you want authentic lebanese food this is definitely the spot for it! Homemade pita bread was my favorite thing about the place. Literally made right in front of you! The food is something you will never find anywhere else.
