I recommend you should only eat here if you hate yourself or hate food. There was only about 4 different selections in the smorgasbord. The food is bland and overcooked beyond belief. The vegetables were mush and could have been fed to an infant. It's surprising something so overcooked was able to be served lukewarm but to my surprise they managed that too. The wontons are not even a wonton but a flat piece of pastry with a tiny piece of meat in it (see if you can spot the meat in my picture.) The wonton meat was so overcooked it had managed to become rock hard. Me and my partner ate half our meal and threw the rest out as it had become some kind of a flavourless soup that could not be eaten as leftovers. I wouldn't go back if it was offered for free so don't be conned into paying for this rubbish.

Do not buy foods here . The worst we have ever eat . It’s disgusting and terrible. Our family of 4 we ate some foods from here we all got vomiting and tummy ache after 1 hour . The foods is too soft and I feel like they must keep it for days to days and still served to customers. Please do not eat or try this …. If I could give 0 star I would be happy more

Honestly the WORST food i have ever eaten! The "Fried Rice" was a boiled watery sludge that has never seen the inside of a wok. The Wontons contain a piece of meat the size of a pea (no exaggeration) The chicken and vege is a slimy mess with the consistency of mucus. The sweet and Sour pork was a soggy , gluggy mess with an extremely concerning metallic after taste. No pork in sight, just battered off cuts of pork fat The cost cutting used by this place is disgusting.

The worst chinese food I have had. Very runny & soggy. No meat as such in a limited selection. Very poor, i will never go there again.

The chicken chow mein was slimy and had a strange off taste to it. The sauce was old and scungy looking as though they had used weeks worth of old unsold chow mein and just added to it each day, give it a stir and serve it up. It was an old rotting chicken smell and taste. I have eaten at two other hungry wok in christchurch many times with absolutely no issues and food was always fresh so I do know when something isn’t right. This was my first and last time at hungry wok riccarton

Check ratings before order. If I had a choice I’d rate -0 if possible. Arrogant staff, poor customer service, delayed service and finally an incorrect order. Not worth it steer clear. Opt for several others if hungry😊
