I booked a wheelchair accessible room for two nights in July 2023. When we arrived we discovered that the room was not accessible at all. There were three stairs up to the check in desk which I could not get to. The room was across the grass and up a 12” step with no ramp. They said other wheelchair users had accessed it. They were going to try and lift my chair which is 250 lbs with me in it into the room (one person) was going to then every time I wanted to leave or enter the room they were going to lift me again. We refused and cancelled our stay. They have refused to refund our money, over 500.00, and will not answer my phone calls. They said they would refund our money. Essentially they have stolen the money from us and they do not care. DO NOT trust these people. Run fast away from them.

The lodge has been recently updated. Room was nice, clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom upgraded as well. The location is convenient and close to the highways and up the road from the water. BUT it was $350 for the night. We booked a room in July 2023 not realizing this lodge does not have air conditioning. It was so hot in the room. There was a fan I put by the open patio door hoping for a cool night, but that did not happen. Also, no complimentary water in the rooms or a mini coffee maker. I would not stay there again knowing for that money I could find a place that offered everything.

Good budget friendly no frills hotel. The attached restaurant is good and reasonably priced. Rooms have been recently renovated and less than a 5 minute walk from the public beach. The room was not cleaned during our 3 night stay. It's not a big deal for us, but it might be for some. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back.

We stayed here for the long weekend and we enjoyed our stay. The room is spacious clean and the washrooms are also clean (which is very important to us). The bed was their best feature. Mattress and comforter was soo comfortable and cozy and we had a great sleep everyday. I even asked where they got their comforter set because I want one for my home. Another plus is they they were walking distance to the beach which we loved. We had a full Beach Day and enjoyed it a lot. The couple downsides are: there’s no full length mirror in the room. (It’s an easy fix with putting on the wall) and there’s no outlets next to the bed. Also the flight of stairs was not fun considering we had luggage to carry. We didn’t eat anything at the restaurant so can’t comment on it. Overall the stay was fine.

Had reservations there last night for a goodbye dinner for a friend. In all consideration, I believe they did exceptionally well for only having 3 staff members and a full restaurant. There were a few food items that were not given to us(mistakes happen, no worries). I do believe with more staff that they will do very well as a business in the future. I will return with my own family as I quite enjoyed the wing choices. Thank you! 😁

A motel at best (check trip advisor), not trusting the Google reviews? Not worth $350+ a night. Pluses are great water pressure, hot water. The only staff member we saw (who was manning the front desk, the bartender, and the maintenance person) was very nice and helpful. They fixed a broken screen door (the room had no air conditioning, but a fan was provided), thank goodness, as the room was warm. The Wi-Fi (quite necessary, as there is poor cell reception) was down for a while (again, the helpful innkeeper was busy fixing that too). The motel is going for a boutique hotel feel, but it is still a work in progress. The on-site restaurant wasn’t open, the “bar” consisted of a couple of beers, begrudgingly served. The breakfast was minimal, similar to a low end chain motel free breakfast. The motel is within walking distance to the beach, but no view and not waterfront. The outdoor fire pit was full of garbage and cigarette butts. The paper thin rooms transferred noise easily, but the fan drowned it out. The balcony was run down, do not drink the water. They should be charging $150 at best. The innkeeper offered to reduce/comp our stay for the trouble, but my credit card was still charged the full $350…(see photos!).

NEW OWNER as of July 2023 - DISREGARD OLD REVIEWS Most rooms are not air conditioned - the Google description is inaccurate. It was hot and stuffy and had we not been able to switch to a room with AC, we would have left immediately. Do not expect any service. For a week-long stay for two guests we were provided two towels and no housekeeping. No one was ever at the desk nor was the phone consistently answered when we called the number provided. I eventually met the housekeeper and was able to get fresh towels and refill our soap, etc but it took several days. We bought an extra towel. Only one hard wooden chair in the room - with website descriptions suggesting one enjoy restaurant room service, we'd expect two. We bought a folding chair so my husband and I could both sit down to eat in our room. No microwave in rooms - we were told this was to promote the restaurant. The restaurant is not open. We were told at least three times that it would be opening later in the week; it did not. There is a small one in the common area. Wifi is inconsistent. Overall the property is run down - the roof is damaged, there is litter around the grounds, cigarette butts everywhere, broken plastic furniture. Not as pleasant an environment as we hoped for. Positives - the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. It is a very short walk to a pleasant public beach in Port Sydney.

This place is amazing! It is in a quiet area which we personally prefer. We stayed in their loft for a night and it was nice and clean. The breakfast was good with a bunch of options but just wish they had eggs as I like to start my day with some good scrambles eggs. Overall nice and affordable accommodation.

Excellent location for the weeding we went too this past Thanksgiving Weekend. All of the family members enjoyed there stay. Everything exceeded our expectations. Service could not have been better. Chris, the owner, and the house keeper went above and beyond to make our stay welcome. The lobby area is a great space to hang out, play games and to meet other family member's for a nice relaxing talk or watch TV. The morning continental breakfast made for a great start to each day we were there. The restaurant was an added addition to our stay as we didn't have to leave the resort for dinner if we didn't want too. Food was priced good and it was great. I will share with friends and family about our stay. Definitely will return.

This was overpriced. No one at front desk. The walls are paper thin. Balcony was in rough shape. Tile coming off on the shower. Old carpet. The one good thing was that the bed and linen were comfortable. Breakfast, cold "hot" water for the tea and no one around to ask to get it heated. The bread to make your own toast had mold all over it. There were apples, processed pieces of pound cake, cookies and that was it. I do not recommend. October 2023
