Cathedral Cave

Tourist attraction

👍👍 Beautiful swimming hole located within Grotto Bay resort. Be careful due to slippery stairs and limestone walkway. and remember to not have on sunscreen, makeup or perfumes to preserve the cavern. We went at 5pm on a Saturday and there was no one else in the cave! People often mention cave, Grotto, swim, Bermuda, free, Cave, water, swimming, Resort, worth,

Gorgeous cave! A hidden pearl in Bermuda, like a secluded wonderland, highly recommended come here enjoy the swim when you're in Bermuda. This cave is in Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa property, come here couple time absolutely no people, also it's free! free! absolutely free for resort guests, but well worth to stay here. looking forward to come back again! The Blue hole park and Crystal Cave just few minutes away!

Went here before I went to the admission cave and enjoyed a quick 5 minutes checking it out! If I didn’t have to take a bus to the other side, I would have loved the once in a lifetime swimming experience here!

Great little (free) side quest but not worth a trip from other parts of the island on its own. If you’re going to Baileys for ice cream, the swizzle inn, or Blue Hole Watersports (which I TOTALLY recommend) it’s definitely worth the quick, very minor detour.

Great free side adventure for the whole family. The cave is a nice cool rest from hot summer days.

All inclusive but lacking a personal touch. It just seems so corporate.

This was great. First time at Bermuda...and have to say one of the best highlights at the Grotto.

Cathedral Cave in Grotto Bay, Bermuda, is a breathtaking natural wonder that offers visitors a mesmerizing experience. The cave's stunning limestone formations create a cathedral-like atmosphere that is both awe-inspiring and serene. As you explore the cave, you'll be surrounded by shimmering crystal-clear waters and intricate stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over thousands of years. The ethereal beauty of Cathedral Cave in Grotto Bay Resort makes it a must-visit attraction for anyone looking to marvel at the wonders of nature in Bermuda.

Cathedral Cave is located on Grotto Bay Resort property. You'll notice that the entire island of Bermuda is a very at your own risk place. So, proceed with caution. Once you park, walk towards the water and stay towards the left. You’ll eventually see a small warning sign, that's the entrance. Walk down the steps and hang out in the cave for a bit. The water can be a bit chilly but go for it, have some fun, take a dip. Blue Hole Water Sports rental is also on the property where you can rent out a boat or set up dives.

A cave with a beautiful swimming hole that you can access (technically for free) through the Grotto Bay Hotel grounds. Not 100% sure if external visitors are meant to be able to access... The cave itself is reached via a set of narrow and steep stairs (not too far down though) and it doesn't go too far in. May take your eyes a few moments to adjust to the relative darkness. The cave is nice and cool compared to the heat of Bermuda outside :)

Absolutely amazing! There was a group of 9 of us who went for a swim and we were completely alone. Can't believe this place is free... it's so stunning.

What an amazing place! A definite 'must see' in my view. Why? Well, although it's a fairly small cave, it has all the features and feel of the commercial caves, but this one is free. And best of all, you can safely enter and swim in the amazing natural pool. It's rare for tourist attractions to be free and also then allow you to swim. The cave is on the grounds of the Grotto Bay Beach Resort, so go through and find the cave at the back. Says it closes at 5pm, but we found it open at 5.30pm and swam in there. Tip: bring your swimming gear and a towel and you won't regret it. This place is only a short walk from Tom Moores Jungle - another cave worth diving into but not as interesting as this Cathedral Cave in my view. We then had a meal at the Grotto Beach Hotel which was not only delicious but very reasonably priced considering some of the prices we have paid at other less nice eateries. In fact we liked the Groto so much we cut short our Air B and B for for night and booked our last night here and did not regret it.

Back in 1988 when I was stationed at the Naval Air Staation I came here with my friends when there was a nightclub and bar in this cave and it was freaking awesome. Lighting installed all through out including underwater. And dance floor was over the water.

Breath Taking! Beautiful, peaceful and serene.... a must see when staying on Bermuda! @ Grotto Bay Resort

If you come to Bermuda this is a must see place! Bring Snorkeling Equipment and a waterproof flashlight. There is light inside the cave enough not to trip over anything once you go past the entrance, but getting in the water and enjoying its clarity can be enjoyed using a flashlight. Also, take it easy coming down the stairs. It takes some time for your eyes to adjust to the Initial Darkness and hold onto the rope on your LEFT hand side. Also Note: Its Completely Free to visit this cave!!

Go for a swim, not as cold as you might think, especially if you go under water. Brink goggles.

A must see…. Our Canadian Guide/Firefighter was extremely well informed and provided an accurate historical perspective with a bunch of fun thrown in. Well Done!!

Not many place left like this that don't have a million people queuing to get access and exorbitant ticket prices. It was peaceful and even quite magical. The swim was something special. Long may it remain (although I get the irony in posting to social media).

Cathedral Cave has been closed during our stay and we only chose this hotel to see this Cave. Very disappointing. Best to find out if open before traveling to see it
