It was during the revolution I came by taxi from my hotel....the sculptor was quite surprised actually I was alone I walked with pleasure among the sculptures, the installations I really appreciated The owner came to meet me and invited me to his house. His lovely wife went to get tea and pastries. He told me about his journey in France and Switzerland......A delicious moment that I think about very often. Thank you both if you read me........

A wonderful place with very friendly residents! The son of the house leads visitors through the individual rooms and explains all of his father's works of art with attention to detail. In my opinion, this extraordinary museum is a must for anyone interested in art. Completely different and very special! Excellent!!!!!!

It is very impressive museum, I advise everyone visiting Soussa to visit this piece of art. The family are very helpful and source of information about each piece in the museum.

A unique collection of the lifetime's work of Tunisian artist Taieb Ben Hadi Ahmed installed in the home where he lived, worked, created and collected with his family for 45 years. A lot of the artworks are made from recycled and 'found' materials and it's great fun spotting the common objects and materials used. There are also many beautiful carved marble sculptures with a Henry Moore influence. The works are arranged in many rooms inside and outside of the building in a fantastic, haphazardly organised fashion. This guy was really prolific, there's enough here for several lifetimes! Sadly, he died last year and the family are deciding how best to curate and preserve the many, many examples of his work. There are also plans to rent apartments to other, visiting artists. This really is a 'must see' if you are visiting Sousse and was probably the most enjoyable visit we had during our nine days in Tunisia. It wasn't too busy when we were there and we were lucky enough to have the artist's son explain some of his father's techniques and methods and to tell us what it was like growing up in the house with him. An extraordinary experience, I only wish we hadn't discovered it on our last day as we definitely would have returned for another look.

This museum celebrates the artistic life of one man-- the artist Taieb Ben Hadi Ahmed. He built a rambling family home and filled it with his collections and art. His collections are hard to describe -- chairs, clocks, army helmets, animal skulls, fishing poles, something different everywhere you look-- and are artfully stuck on ceilings, walls, tables, shelves throughout the multilevel dwelling. His plans included an artist's colony, so it is a big, sprawling place. Am Taieb passed away earlier this year, so his family is keeping the museum going while deciding what to do with his legacy. This is a project worth supporting.

Don’t miss this incredible little museum. Art fills every nook of this house, and you’ll just find yourself wishing you could slow down and spend the day. Be sure to phone the number for the museum if there’s no one at the door, and the late artist’s son will show you around.

My daughter and I spent a very enjoyable hour as Am Taieb's son guided us through his father's fascinating artistic vision, which is expressed through a variety of different materials. Contemporary art lovers will appreciate this place which is quite unique in Tunisia.

A hidden gem in Sousse, fantastic museum. The family of the artist is running this private museum, there is lots of modern arts stuff, not the usual things you get to see in Sousse, but exceptional artworks, also you can see some workplaces of the artist. Just the results of a life of Art. The daughter of the artist, who also has a great singing voice, gave me an excellent tour of the different rooms. In my opinion, the Museum is a Highlight in Sousse. Well worth the entry of 10 Dinar, go visit it.

A fantastic visit even for those who don't necessarily like museums. We travel into the art and mind of a very philosophical and inspiring man. A timeless journey with a guide (the artist’s son) who pays a perfect tribute to the memory of his father! I recommend 100% for tourists and Tunisians!

A beautiful dive into the work of a prolific artist. We were able to enjoy the tour guided by the artist’s son. It is definitely worth a visit. Adults, children and teenagers have all found creations that speak to them. We left delighted! Don't let the photos stop you, which don't do full justice to the charming atmosphere of the place.
