Galley Hatch has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. After introducing my entire family to their menu, we have all developed a shared love of their dishes. The atmosphere is relaxing and not uptight. Every room has different types of seating. We personally prefer the lounge and outdoor deck. During our most recent visit, on Mother's Day, we had a phenomenal; meal. The Baked Feta Dip & Calamari is a must try; you will end up making repeat trips just for these bad boys. The specials menu also had various options for the holiday. The Swordfish was priced right for a huge portion. Shout out to the hostess for making sure we got prime seating on the outdoor deck. If you are ever in the area, stop here, the menu has something for everyone.

I've been going to the Galley Hatch since I was a kid, and eaten there literally hundreds of times. The food is consistently good. Delicious actually, and large portions. The service is always really good too with friendly servers. But, today for lunch I had the best server that has ever waited on me. Owen was attentive, friendly, prompt and had a great sense of humor. It is unusual to find that combination in a restaurant server in a major city, let alone a small New Hampshire town. He brought my experience at the venerable Galley Hatch to a new level. Don't take my word for it. Go try the excellent cuisine and ask for Owen to be your server.

The Galley Hatch restaurant was definitely a favourite on our visit! The aroma that filled the air was both clean, as well as delicious smelling, the temperature was just right, not too hot, not too cold. We were seated in an indoor patio which was absolutely beautiful and perfect for the day we had. We had a lovely fire pit table. We were all quite cold from being out and about on the gloomy, rainy day, it was such a warm and inviting atmosphere. There was a group of 6 of us, so we were lucky enough to try many different dishes; prime rib, steak tips, seafood casserole, lamb burger, fresh catch pasta, all different sides across the board, and absolutely everything was cooked to perfection. Each person asked for their food cooked differently and everyone got exactly what they asked for. The flavours were so complementary of each other, everything was delivered hot and the servers were pleasant. The restaurant was quite clean! The washrooms were very well maintained, the tables were quickly turned around. We took forever to decide what we wanted to eat, (because everything on the menu looked incredible) and the servers we kind and patient.

Galley Hatch seafood is excellent! I had the Fisherman's Platter, and it exceeded my expectations for flavor and portion size. The fried clams were outstanding! The right size, juicy, not chewy, and fried to perfection. The scallops were flavorful, moist, and delicious. The haddock, shrimp, and fries were all great. My friends had the Seafood Newburg In A Popover. Lots of seafood, great newburg sauce, served in a great popover. I was impressed, and will be back.

I've never had a bad experience at Galley Hatch. This particular day I was there for lunch with a large group, 16 of us to be exact! The restaurant easily accommodated us and was also able to give us separate checks! None of our orders got messed up or confused. Excellent experience!

I went to Galley Hatch last night (Tuesday) with my husband and daughter. There was about a half hour wait so we just sat in the little cafe in the lobby while we waited. The decor was cute and all of the staff was very friendly. I’m not sure if their kitchen was maybe short staffed or what the issue was but to get our meals felt like an eternity. Our waiter wasn’t great, he was nice but would disappear for long periods of time. To even get a bread basket took awhile. We didn’t get the usual water refills, he’d come by when our cups were already empty and asked if we wanted more water(why not just fill them?). My husband asked had asked him a question about what type of stuffing was in the seafood, he didn’t know and said he’d ask but didn’t come back with an answer. My husband ended up ordering a steak instead which was missing the sauce he asked for; the waiter tried to tell him it was “melted” on top - there was no way. It was a thick creamy sauce with chunks of mushrooms in it, he did bring out a bowl of the sauce when we asked him to get some as we paid extra for it. So overall the food was great but bad service left us a bit annoyed by the end. When we wanted our check the waiter had disappeared (again) so we got stuck waiting awhile for him to return.

We had an excellent Mom's night out here. Our waitress Paula was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She put up with our shenanigans and shared a laugh or two with us. We had an assortment of dinners from prime rib, steak tips, lettuce wedges etc. Multiple appetizers and drinks. Everything was perfection! Deb from the bakery was amazing and so sweet! It was clear she loved being a part of this company. Highly recommend.
