I took an honoured salute while filing past the mortal remains of Ho Chi Minh. I must say, he truly was a hero and deserves all that patriotism and celebration.

Although I have not gone through the sightseeing because of our schedule there are a lot of tourist spots that i have noticed that they are near to each other so we covered a few to take photos and to visit as well. Hoping that i could go back and have at least a week of looking around what it is in Saigon.

I don’t understand why they don’t make this museum better. If they make the whole experience flow with information, rather than just put random things everywhere, then people would be able to learn a lot more about Ho Chi Minh.

About $2 entrance fee. There is a beautiful monument on the third floor and the life of Ho Chi Minh and the revolution.

Ladies will be asked to cover shoulder and get full pants or sarong to cover legs. So ladies please come covered or get something to cover your self. Great place showcasing Vietnamese history and the Ho chi min’s contribution. No tickets, the close from 12-2 pm in afternoon.

The museum was a worthwhile watch for the history lovers. But I had a bad experience there regarding the submission of our belongings there. They didn't allow me to take my camera inside (but after I went in all the others were taking their cameras inside). I have submitted my camera at the baggage collection counter. After I came back to the counter it was closed and they asked me to go to the other end of the premise to collect it. I went all over the premise asking for my camera . But they made me roam here and there. I walked for above 3 km searching for my cameras. At last I came back to the entrance and requested the officers to get my camera back. One Lady officer came with us and asked the security officer to bring it to us. (Don't remember her name, but I thank her for helping me) Then the security officer went to the other end and took my camera and other belongings to me. I was really worried because I have to leave soon and catch my flight. That was a really bad experience. They should have kept the belongings where it was collected. Otherwise the tourists will be confused.

This is perhaps the worst museum I have ever visited. 2 stars because it is a museum, but there is hardly any information about Ho himself. Some of the exhibits make no sense either. Someone explain the attached picture to me.

Best attraction in the city. However, museum is closed most of the time and no any advance guidelines are displayed.

Located near the rest of the attractions - E.g. presidential place. Quite a lot of things to see here e.g artifacts from the war and the resistance in vietnam. There is also a statue of Ho Chi Minh located at the centre of the museum. Overall good experience, you can walk around freely and the staff are pretty helpful

Really disappointing. I can easily spend 2-5 hours in a museum but wasn't even here for one whole hour. They also don't take student discounts, this was the only museum out of the many I went to in Hanoi that didn't. The building is incredible, and the displays look cool, but the information isn't well organized or clear. There are so many fascinating items, but it is so hard to go through the exhibit and get a clear picture. I know very little about this history and came hoping to learn more, but I didn't. The National Museum was better for learning but very stale compared to the aesthetic quality of this museum.

Stunning architecture & entrance. But very limited & incoherent information on HCM, random art installations with no explanations, random dark rooms...and so much effort made to direct us to multiple gift shops filled with meaningless plastic clutter... extremely disappointing.

Good museum, lots of information about Ho Chi Minh. I had some prior knowledge of his life. But if I hadnt know I would be a little lost as to understand the significance of a lot of the articles and artifacts. Lots of news paper 📝 clippings a and writings. The museum itself is very artisticly designed with lots of communist art.

Interesting, but with a skosh of unnecessary touch... To begin with, this museum is another exciting museum in the city, but this time with some additional ( and artificial ) objects/articles, which generally are not meant to be in such kinds of museums. The Museum has three floors. At the base, there are a plethora of wares. When I went here, there was an exhibition going on the second floor which was conducted in collaboration with another country's relevant authorities. About 2/5th of the boards ( on this floor ) were only in the local language. It was knowledgeable to know about the struggle, freedom movement, and action plans of the leaders back then i.a., and there is information available about plans, their implementation and after-effects during the early and mid-70s. There are also various quotes shown with the names of the leaders ( incl. photos in some cases ), and information about conferences, key strategic decisions and landmark movements/achievements i.a. There is also a succulent mention of the present global relations of the country. The second and largest floor of the museum has a lot. Due to the time constraint courtesy to their lunch break time, I couldn't get to see even half the museum properly, but based on what I saw, it was again very interesting. There is a collection of objects used during the War times ( like various types of arrows, and prisoner uniforms ), personal items used by popular personalities, some historical paintings, stuff about the life of the founder ( incl a statue ), i.a. And now the superfluous elements.  The most surprising thing was the presence of some totally unconnected/unrelated items like fake fruits, metal flowers and leaves, and fake masks, i.a. Surely they look more better when they are seen in other shops, but definitely not inside the historical sites like a museum. I am not sure why the organisers saw it worthwhile to have them here, and the same space would have been used for other apposite boards/articles. The entry ticket is VND 40,000, and like its counterparts, this museum too is closed for the lunch break and on Mon and Fri. There is also a cafeteria on the premises at the base near the exit. As for other museums in Hanoi, it would be in the good interest of the visitors if this lunch closing time is done away with. Surely, staff can go for lunch, but visitors should be allowed to continue to explore the museum. In the absence of the same, it becomes difficult for people who love history and museums to see the whole site in one visit given the timings.

This place used to be so good - now its different (maybe due to covid ?) - I arrived at the entrance on Ngoc Ha st to find it closed off by security and advised to go round via Le Hong Phong st - so i went round till I arrived at the entrance on Le Hong Phong st to find it closed off by security and advised to go round via Ong Ich Khiem st - so i went round till I arrived at the entrance on Ong Ich Khiem st which is the entrance to the Mausoleum. Security here however advised me i could access the museum from here - but i now had to double-back all the way back to get to the museum - which i did. I arrived at the imposing front entrance which you would have thought was the main way in, but a sign in front advised the ticket office was round to the left - so i went round to the left, but there was no office on this side - I continued round and there was no office on the back of the building - and continuing round there was no office on the third side of the building - and continuing brought me back to where i had started. So I tried the front door - but it was locked - and bringing my face right up to the glass i could see in the darkness of the hall within, a small sign that said 'closed' This museum was designed and built to give maximum access to the public which it used to do - its a shame to see this access is now severely constrained both physically and by time. I feel the story and legacy of Ho Chi Minh deserve much better

Whether or not you agree with all Ho Chi Minh's ideas, this place is an important part of any visit to Hanoi. It narrates Vietnam history through Minh's life and legacy. Though at times it seemed exaggerated or not necessarily accepted by all historians, the effort and work put into this narrative is remarkable. Please note that the museum closes at 4.30 on most days and you need at least 2 hours for a careful visit.

Very strange museum. We arrived expecting to learn more about Ho Chi Minh but left feeling like we knew less than before. Random collection of items, the significance of which is not explained at all. Maybe it’s simply a sort of tribute/patriotic place to him rather than a museum…. Would not recommend if you want to learn about Ho Chi Minh’s life/war etc.

This museum firstly is so immense. In the middle of Hanoi it must span over 6 hectares. The museum is an absolute gem of ho chi Minh's life from his childhood to his early years in Europe, America, Russia, and China. His incarceration in Hong Kong and China. The information on his life is so detailed to every single year. All the documents and archives on display are excellently presented in different key stages of his life. Amazing... The memorial and monument is really impressive and stands out so much in the complex. His house and the gardens and lake around his house are also equally impressive. Well worth he visit. Only 40.000bdong to enter the museum and 40.000 to enter his house complex. One off my bucket list and a worthy one.

A marvelous place designed to pay respect to the leader and founder of modern Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh had a massive amount of effect on everything that Vietnamese hold near and dear today. Through this museum, we get to know why he had this effect on his fellow countrymen and notable figures of the world. He was a larger than life personality rooted in humble ways of life. Must see this place.

A museum dedicated to Ho Chih Minh and his lifetime achievements. There are many preserved artefacts that gives you a glimpse of his life and his lifetime vision for Vietnam. Hoewever, the layout is quite chaotic with a sprinkling of art thrown here and there. For those who are not aware, do wear clothes that cover your shoulders and knees as you are entering a place of respect

President Ho Chi Minh - Vietnamese hero of national liberation and great man of culture. After he passed away on September 2nd 1969, in compliance with the Vietnamese people’s aspiration, the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Politburo decided to build the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Ho Chi Minh Museum. After 20 years of preparing and building, the Ho Chi Minh Museum was inaugurated on September 2nd 1990, on the occasion of the 100th birthday of the President. Ho Chi Minh Museum has more than 170,000 decuments, objects and films about President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary work. They are invaluable assets of the Vietnamese people in educating patriotism, studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thought and moral quallties; and encouraging the Vietnamese generations to succeed failthfully and excellently his great revolutionary work. Entry ticket price is cheap. It’s very long queues on public holidays. Food stalls are available for refreshments. Recommended.

An incredible museum, really creative and fascinating displays. I agree with past reviews that the museum lacks strong exposition or storytelling flow. Therefore when I got there I asked about a tour guide (after seeing a sign) and a volunteer guide gave me a great tour, told me the whole fascinating history of uncle Ho’s life, explained stuff you definitely miss especially if you don’t speak Vietnamese. Highly recommend this and don’t forget to tip!

You don't get a chance to see the museum because you are surrounded by a horde of screaming and raging children. The noise level is unbearable, which is why you want to leave the museum immediately. In this respect, I can say little about the actual museum and the information presented.

This museum, dedicated to Ho Chi Minh, is really big and loaded with valuable information about his life. Unfortunately, the information is not delivered to the visitors properly, the museum seems a bit chaotic. Therefore, it may happen that you will wander aimlessly among the exhibits, with no real perception of information.

The garden around the museum was beautiful. The exhibitions also but not in a chronological order. So if u wish to know about Ho Chi Minh and his and Vietnam’s history I would recommend doing your homework at home the night before, cus u won’t get much from the museum. In order to get in you need to be dressed modestly, so women do bring a jacket and something to cover your legs. Personally i think the garden around are beautiful (and FREE of charge)- so it’s a great place to sit with some ice tea and read a book or just enjoy the silence.

The Ho Chi Minh Museum is located in Hanoi, Vietnam. Constructed in the 1990s, it is dedicated to the late Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam's revolutionary struggle against foreign powers. The museum consists of a collection of artifacts, miniatures, and various gifts gathered nationally and internationally. In addition to Vietnamese, the museum also provides descriptions written in English as well as French. Guided tours are also available upon request.

Low entry fee (< $2US), clean, closed for lunch and some weekdays. Limited information outside of building the Ho Chi Minh legend and art. This museum is a strange combination of propaganda & hagiography (for the eponymous Ho Chi Minh), advertising for a visit to China, loosely connected art rooms (pop culture photos, war sculptures &/pictures, hell room), more Ho Chi Minh background (recreation of his supposed childhood hut), and some interesting photos and letters in battered flipbooks. Not a lot going on here, even with all of that. I love history and learning about other cultures but the only lesson here seems to be how to create a deity from a man. I wonder, as I travel this beautiful country and learn its history, how all the others who worked so hard for the freedom and culture of the Vietnamese people must feel about Ho Chi getting all the credit?

This museum is a little out of the box but really interesting - it feels like a cross between a gallery and a cultural heritage site, as the retelling if ho chi minh’s life is done quite creatively, including some artwork and sculpture to bring the story to life. Unconventional but interesting! There is also a themed exhibition about war veterans on the 2nd floor which is a bit dry and text heavy, but if you can get through all the reading, it’s actually quite inspiring. The building itself is interesting and grandiose - my favourite was all the older people that gather and hang out together by the doors under the shade of the building - seems like a cool hangout spot for them, super cute!
