I
returned
to
Rhythms
on
25th
January
2022
with
my
wife
for
our
2nd
wedding
anniversary.
We
had
enjoyed
our
first
visit
in
February
2020
and
it
was
time
to
go
back.
Unfortunately
the
restaurant
has
not
maintained
its
high
standards
when
it
comes
to
the
menu
availability
and
the
quality
of
the
food
and
drinks.
When
we
arrived
the
staff
seated
us
and
gave
us
our
food
and
drinks
menus.
The
two
main
courses
that
my
wife
and
I
wanted
were
not
available
and
my
wife's
2nd
choice
was
not
available
either.
We
ordered
two
cuts
of
steak
instead,
one
rare
and
one
medium
rare.
We
then
ordered
a
glass
or
house
red
wine
each
but
it
was
unavailable
so
we
decided
to
order
a
bottle
of
wine.
Our
first
choice
bottle
of
Malbec
was
not
available
either.
The
manager
asked
if
she
could
help
us
choose
a
bottle
which
we
accepted.
We
told
her
we
wanted
something
light
and
fruity
and
that
we
did
not
like
dry
wines
like
Merlot
etc.
She
suggested
a
bottle
of
Chilean
Red
Cabernet
which
was
priced
at
1,400,000
VND,
one
of
the
more
expensive
red
wines
on
the
menu.
They
brought
the
bottle
and
I
tried
it.
It
was
a
very
dry
wine
(less
dry
than
a
Merlot
but
quite
similar)
which
my
wife
and
I
did
not
like.
I
had
one
small
glass
and
my
wife
had
two
small
glasses
before
she
had
enough.
The
steaks
arrived
and
they
had
cooked
my
steak
raw/
rare
(this
was
my
wife's
order)
and
my
wife's
steak
medium/medium
well
(i
had
ordered
medium
rare).
We
just
swapped
steaks
so
that
we
did
not
cause
a
fuss.
Due
to
the
meals
that
we
wanted
not
being
available,
my
wife
had
ordered
her
steak
based
on
the
side
dishes
that
came
with
it
but
there
was
no
asparagus
on
either
of
the
steaks
as
stated
in
the
menu.
When
we
asked,
a
member
of
staff
went
to
the
kitchen
and
the
chef
grilled
one
piece
of
asparagus
each.
The
steaks
were
not
well
seasoned
and
lacked
the
expected
meaty
flavour.
They
were
not
the
worst
steaks
we
have
had
in
Hanoi
but
are
definitely
not
in
the
top
10.
For
dessert
we
ordered
two
chocolate
lava
cakes.
We
were
told
it
would
take
15
minutes
to
prepare
them
which
was
fine
as
they
are
freshly
made.
When
they
arrived
to
our
table,
both
were
overcooked
with
no
gooey
chocolate
inside,
just
dry
chocolate
cake.
We
decided
not
to
say
anything
because
we
had
to
get
back
home
to
our
baby
as
it
was
8.15pm.
When
we
paid
the
bill
the
staff
brought
us
a
small
sample
of
a
cocktail
to
apologise
for
the
wine
although
we
still
had
to
pay
1,400,000
VND
(after
checking
online
you
can
buy
it
in
a
store
at
retail
price
for
450,000
VND)
for
3
small
glasses
(1/4
of
the
bottle)
and
we
took
the
bottle
home
so
that
we
can
use
it
in
some
cooking
at
some
point.
Overall
the
service
was
good
but
the
selection
of
foods,
as
well
as
the
quality
of
the
food
and
drinks,
are
now
well
below
expectations.
After
enjoying
our
first
visit
2
years
ago,
I
now
cannot
advise
anyone
to
go
to
The
Rhythms
Restaurant
any
more
and
I
feel
sorry
that
I
have
to
write
this.
