Currently, this place has been included in the list of 23 special national relics by the Prime Minister of Vietnam. distinct. This land is originally the northwestern part of the Imperial Citadel of the ancient Thang Long Citadel. When France invaded Vietnam, after occupying the North, Hanoi was selected as the center of all Indochina and the Governor General of Indochina was built on this land. After the end of the anti-French resistance war, this place was chosen to be the workplace of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the State, and also the residence and working place of President Ho Chi Minh. This is also the place where Ho Chi Minh passed away. At the Presidential Palace, President Ho Chi Minh has met many delegations who are representatives of political parties, unions and religions; representatives of workers, peasants, intellectuals, the army; representatives of ethnic minorities; representatives of the people of South Vietnam and soldiers of the South Vietnamese Liberation Army (in Vietnam referred to as "fellow soldiers of the South") At the same place, he also welcomed people who were representatives of Vietnamese living abroad to visit Vietnam; representatives of youth teams, youth unions, women's associations ... On February 9, 1955, the Presidential Palace door opened for young people to come and play, from which the children had many opportunities to visit him here. He also holds many children's art exhibitions here. Beautiful area in its own right which you come to after following the path from the mausoleum. Good to see how living was back then for a man of this stature and how his environment was adapted with age. Again walk around given path, no real waiting but you can take photos.

So much waste of money and not worth visiting. Everyone is getting in for free but the security guard only requested us to pay for the tickets. 40,000k just to see a few chairs and home facilities. The park is a tiny radom park. You can basically see everything within 5 mins. We though we missed some attractions as the place is so small. Walking back to the way to the main entrance is not even allowed. The security guard scolded at us for walking on the "opposite direction". Such a bad experience and it has completed ruin my impression to Hanoi.

Growing up I heard so much about Ho Chi Minh so it was rather special to visit this incredibly humble house. It says a lot about the man. The house is a simple wooden stilt house, reflecting Ho Chi Minh's modest lifestyle. It has been preserved as a museum, allowing visitors to see the living quarters and personal belongings of Ho Chi Minh. The Stilt House is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is part of the larger Presidential Palace complex, which includes other historical buildings and structures.

After Ho left the palace he moved into a little house. He then went out of the country and while he was away they built him the stilt house which was more humble for him. It really wasn't anything fancy but he lived there until his health declined.

Situated in the Presidential Palace ( review available separately ), with views of a pond on one side, and gardens on the other sides, the stilt house is the only spot inside the palace having the security personnel, and the house can not be entered, but seen from outside. Photography is allowed. The two-storey house has a bedroom, a kitchen, a meeting room, et al and the items used by the founder, and also a book collection. It seems to be painted recently and has a proper finishing ( otherwise it wouldn't look half-sparking and good coated, and would have obviously been off-coloured after decades ) ( no criticism intended by saying this ).

It is an extra option of 40,000 VND (~1.65 USD) for visiting Ho Chi Minh’s working place and his house. There is not much besides old house and his personal belonging. For Vietnamese it’s free I guess. Well if you already flew here why not spend a little more money to see historical place and take some photo for whatever.

We went there around 3 pm-ish, it was very long walk to the entrance and a bit complicated for us that went there by ourselves (not accompanied by a local tour guide). The place was okey. But it would be more great if we had a local tour guide to explain everything about the house.

Uncle lake floor This is the place where Uncle Ho lived and worked for the longest time in his life of revolutionary activities, from May 17, 1958 to his death (1969). The house is not only imbued with history but also an architectural and cultural heritage of Vietnam. Uncle Ho's stilt house is also the place to welcome many delegations of politicians, heads of state of many countries around the world and millions of compatriots across the country, expatriates or foreign tourists to visit him in Hanoi.

Walked all the way from the entrance to be told by an officer that it was closed (although it's website said it was open). When asked when it would open, the officers walked away ignoring us and would not allow us to take photo or see the outside. Can't see anything of this site if it's closed.

The tranquil garden surrounding the house is also a popular spot for both tourists and locals, and features a pond and many ornamental flowers and trees. Throughout its history, the Stilt House has been well-maintained and preserved, ensuring that future generations can learn from its significance. While it may not be as grand as other presidential residences around the world, the Stilt House carries a special meaning and importance for the Vietnamese people.

It was nice to see the history from a Vietnamese perspective (rather than the western one we were taught in school) and how Ho Chi Minh lived. However we were unaware it closed at 11:00am (nor did they tell us when we got tickets around 10:30) and we were rushed onwards by staff so were not able to spend as much time here as we would have liked. However the price for a ticket is very reasonable (we were able to see the museum next door without paying, so that was kind of the staff, although the museum also closed quite soon after we entered which may have been why we were allowed to go in for free).
