This food is made with the freshest ingredients. I ordered a burrito locos. You could actually see the pieces of cilantro, onion, tomato, peppers, rice, lettuce, etc. I have included a picture of the center for detail.

What an awesome little place. First time here and it won't be our last. We went around 4pm on a Saturday and there was absolutely no wait. Around 4:45 there were 5 other families seated. Service was fast and very attentive. Elizabeth did an amazing job with recommendations and was very attentive to my family. We ordered beef tacos with fries, two sides of rice and beans, veggie borreto and what I like to call a giant meat and cheese bowl sampler. 5 meats, cactus and a sweet pepper. Everything was cooked perfect. My son said it was the best rice and beans he has ever had. My wife said it was best veggie borreto she has ever had. Price is very reasonable for the portion. Parking is limited but street parking is available. Within walking distance of all downtown Hanover. Giving them a rare 5 star. Hope they keep the business and customers keep coming back to keep this place running. Update 9-19-23 lunch at 3pm and food was still top notch.

Great place to eat! The inside is decorated beautifully and the food was great!! I definitely want to go back again and try more items on the menu! Everything seems to be made from scratch, so it'll have a longer waiting time, but it's totally worth it! Can't wait to come again!

Very authentic food. Pleasant attentive service. Minimal yet colorful and pleasant decor. They have quite a decent sized menu w lots of choices. There are number of different meats to choose from for on your tacos, sopes, burritos, fajitas etc. My wife had steak fajitas. They were nicely seasoned and came out sizzling and delicious. Portion size is very generous and accompanied by tortillas, rice and beans it was more than she could eat. I wanted to have Chiles Rellenos but unfortunately we were having a later dinner, so they were sold out. The waitress told us that they are so good that they sell quickly. Well, ya snooze, ya lose, I'll just have to get there earlier next time. I decided to settle with the Huaraches con chorizo. Again, big portion of two large Huaraches. They were delicious and I couldn't eat them all so both my wife and I had dinner and took home a light lunch. I had to get a side of guacamole because it's one of my favorite things. Theirs is fresh and chunky. It was very lime and cilantro forward, almost too much for my taste, but maybe that's just the thing for you. Prices are very reasonable considering the portion sizes and food quality. Our server was pleasant and helpful. We were too full for dessert but they have a variety of churros to choose from. We had a lovely meal and will definitely go back. Update..went back and got the Chiles Rellenos they were excellent.

To the chagrin of many Central PA local restaurant owners, I very rarely rate a restaurant with 5 stars, but Mexican Restaurant La Libertad absolutely has earned my respect as a top notch Mexican restaurant. Immediately upon entering this establishment it was apparent that the owner and employees take much pride in providing a spic-n-span clean and well organized dining room for their customers. We arrived during the busy lunch hour, yet we were pleasantly greeted at the door and were quickly escorted to a booth, given menus and had our drink orders placed. I was amazed that our server actually knew what mica is, AND they had it available. This is the only Mexican restaurant in Central PA that we've been to that has real mica (agua de Jamaica/hibiscus tea). It's just one of those things we took for granted while living in SoCal. The tortilla chips were freshly prepared, and the tomatillo salsa verde was very well seasoned with a good bite but not overwhelming. When our food orders were delivered to our table they had been plated beautifully. All of the ingredients that went into my carne asada burrito and my wife's chicken tacos tasted fresh and bold. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our server had warned us that the salsa rojo was hot. My wife double dog dared me to try it. WARNING! This stuff is muy caliente and is NOT for gringos. It took over 20 minutes for my tongue and throat to stop burning. Throughout the meal our server was absolutely dynamite. She was super friendly and attentive without being over bearing. It was an absolute pleasure to dine here at Mexican Restaurant La Libertad.

We ordered take-out & the food is outstanding! We got Birria tacos, and a Birria quesadilla with grilled onions and peppers. The stew that comes with is absolutely delicious, I could drink it by itself. Food was amazing, restaurant is super dope, workers are friendly. Highly recommend.

I've lived in Hanover most of my life and have seen many Mexican restaurants come and go. I think this one is here to stay. My wife and travel quite a bit and have dined at many Mexican restaurants. The food here was outstanding, the service fantastic. My wife actually said the Vegetarian burrito was the best she ever had. My Shrimp enchiladas were amazing, and the tomatillo sauce honestly seemed like it was literally made for me (I don't like a lot of spice). They make everything from scratch onsite and it shows not only in the presentation but in the taste of the food. My only recommendation would be to ask if they are out of anything before ordering. But, I can say, I hope this one sticks around because they are doing it right.

If you want the "real deal" this is the place. Food portions and quality were great. Anna, our server was very pleasant and friendly. Lots of take out orders happening while we're there. We went based on all the positive reviews and very much agree. Don't judge it by the outside as it is in an old building but nicely renovated inside. We had tacos with beans and rice AND quesadillas Mole Verde. Both very good.

If you haven't found this place yet... You NEED to! We were in Hanover for the afternoon and just looking for a place to get out of the rain and grab some good nachos. Ended up ordering a full dinner because it smelled so good. The food was Fantastic. Nicely seasoned with a great mix of flavors. Very authentic. Great portion sizes. Great prices. Probably the best meal I've had since moving to York county. The molcajete was simply awesome. I bought a gift certificate for some of my guys at work to try it and I will happily drive the hour to come back myself. Makes me happy to see people taking pride in what they serve and how the serve it. A great little hidden jem!

Great food. The home made tortillas are great! The fajita vegetables were cooked just right, not over cooked. Portions are large.

We visited La Libertad for the first time today, and it exceeded all expectations! The atmosphere is clean and fun. It is not a quiet place, but a joyous atmosphere. There is lots of friendly staff, all very helpful. But the star is the food! Authentic dishes with fresh handmade tortillas, slow-roasted meats…all fresh ingredients. I ordered the Tacos de Birria and they were amazing! The spices and smoky flavor of the meat was exceptional. We also got a sample of a new β€˜pizza’ they are adding to the menu that uses the same meat. I am already thinking of coming back and just ordering that pizza! It was that good. My husband ordered the Al Pastor burrito. It was huge and flavorful, filled with pork. His was served with a side of rice and beans that were tasty. There are so many other items we want to come back and try, including their desserts! We are now officially β€˜fans’ and will be repeat customers!
