I've had phenomenal Thai food in Thailand, excellent Thai food in Queens, NY and really good Thai in Toronto, Ontario Canada however today, I had mind blowing, super nasty-bad Thai in Harker Heights, TX! I entered Grandma's with a friend hoping to have a taste similar if not as good as what I've had in the past only to have my pallet assaulted! I explained to the staffer who serviced my table that I would like to have a spicy prawn soup, steamed dumplings and chicken satay with a peanut sauce on the side. What came first was a over deep fried skewer of chicken with a peanut butter flavored thick textured sauce that tasted so nasty!! I took only one bite because I don't generally like to self punish. Next came the rest of the order. The soup as you can see in the provided images looked nice. We where dooped! This soup I tell you was sickening and sour. Tomatoes as many people are aware can be acidic, the tomatoes in this soup where not cooked. The tomatoes where simply blanched from the heat and gave a very strong flavor that was unpleasant. Their was no potato in the soup, only a pinch of vegetables and large shrimp but, the shrimp where over cooked, thus a bit hard. The dumplings where strange so, we didn't finish those as well. We ordered one additional item, Crab Rangoon and this was the only palletable item. Crab Rangoon $6.95 Satay Chicken $7.95 Thom Yum w/ Shrimp $11.95 x2 Plus tax we paid $42.- total because the staff at this place didn't have the decency to remove the chicken satay from the bill when we sent it back because it was over cooked. At the end of this horrid culinary disaster, the wait staffer had the audacity to ask if we wanted to go packaging for all the horrible food that he saw that we where not eating!! This was truly the worst Thai food that I've to date encountered. Just to be clear incase I haven't been already, when we left there we had a strong sour taste gripping our throats so, we headed to Freddie's to get vanilla custard with chocolate sauce to help cleanse our pallets however, even after having finished the custard;.the sour taste remained... It took a long while for that disgusting sour taste to dissipate.

Excellent meal! Many meals I have had say they are spicy but lack any real flavor. The owner explained and then recommended a spice level that was just right! There was enough food for two meals, and if I had just the Stir Fry Vegetables without Shrimp, it would have been just as good! I will be going back! I finally got up the courage to try the Thai Spicy for the Mixed Vegetables with Shrimp 🍤! It was spicy! Either they toned the spiciness down for me, or my tolerance for spicy food is growing.

My wife and I found this place trying to get a quick bite while house hunting. The best Thai restaurant in this part of Texas hands down.

I recently dined in here and had a great experience. The dining room was clean and the service was prompt. Most importantly, the food was excellent. I ordered an appetizer sampler and Pad See Eiw. The flat noodles were cooked perfectly in a savoury-sweet sauce. I will be back for sure!

Best Hidden Gem for Thai Food!!! Ordered Thom Kha & Thom Yum soups- both delicious! I am NOT a fan of Pad Thai, but Grandma's dish was good! Finally, the Green Curry was my favorite. All of the dishes are full of flavor without the Atomic Spicy Heat I've experienced at other places. I brought my parents along to try Grandma's for the first time & they were very impressed considering they're picky diners. I live out of town- this place is definitely worth the drive for Great Thai Food!!

This was my first time trying thai and i was not disappointed. The food was so delicious and filling. Great portions for what you pay for. The older lady that works there was very helpful in helping me find what i wanted, and even asked what spice level i wanted. The service was quick as well. Definitely will not be my last time coming here. S/n: if you’re a crab rangoon lover, try her’s. It has a surprising twist to it.

My daughter found Grandmas on google and I was pleasantly surprised the service and the food were wonderful! The food came out quick and the woman who served us was very friendly. I have not been very impressed by a lot of restaurants in the area, this place was a gem. Thank you!

We absolutely love this place. It is very small but the women who work here are hard working and so friendly. It's a hole in the wall place so you know they have some REALLY good food. The wait can be long and that's because they are so popular and only one cook. If you want good Thai food and have a comfortable ending to eat in then this is the place for you.

Great food. They could improve on the look and feel inside the restaurant. There is a sense that furniture is old and antiquated and looks cluttered. However, the taste of the food is amazing! For those reasons, they get a 4!

I love this place! I got the spicy duck curry with white/jasmine rice and it was delicious. Perfectly spiced, lots of curry sauce, could’ve been more duck but it was tender and juicy, not dry at all. The cheese puffs are always crispy as well and so tasty.

One of the best Thai restaurant in Killeen. You get that authentic taste with each food and the service was excellent. What more can you ask for? Check them out and you will not he disappointed!

Great Thai food...there are many, many Thai restaurants in Killeen, but this one is my favorite - and it's not even the closest one to my house! They put lots of veggies in the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles), which I appreciate. The people who work here are very friendly, and the buffet (I finally got in there at the right time to get it) is THE BOMB. Highly recommend.

I completely understand mom & pop restaurants that boast their specialty. This restaurant is close to falling in the "Waste of Money" restaurant. There is only ONE guy running phones, taking orders, running food out, and sadly can't keep up with it all. The food is missing that ingredient called love.. they love what they serve and care about their QUALITY. That is NOT THERE. There are better Thai restaurants in the Bell county area. Until they figure out how to flow better & provide quality food, I say Nothing To See Here. Best of luck to Grandma's Thai.

One of my favorite restaurants. It’s family owned, & the food is delicious & spicy. You can choose your level of spice. Warning- the thai spicy is very spicy & is similar to Wing Stop atomic sauce or Pluckers fire in the hole.
