Came here around 5 on a weekday and by 6 the place was full. First time here but there was a number of things on the menu that I'd love to come back to try. Tried a steak fajita burrito which was excellent along with a paloma. Can't wait to come back to try the margaritas and enchiladas.

The food was delicious and well prepared. Although it is difficult to adhere to the tastes of the original country in downtown Harrisburg, the food was a pleasant surprise. The service was excellent. Our server, a tall, slender young man, was courteous and knowledgeable. The atmosphere and decor were beautiful. In all, a lovely experience. Well done!

I can't believe I had never been here before today. We had an excellent experience at El Sol. Chips & salsa plus Guac and shrimp ceviche were all excellent for starters. Everyone in our party was very pleased with their entrees, and portions were generous. Halibut fish tacos were excellent. A few of us miraculously still had room for dessert and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service! I highly recommend El Sol Appetizer, a delicious and authentic Mexican dish! I can't recommend this enough!

This is a top tier Mexican restaurant! My wife and I shared the guacamole and chips to start and then had the taco trio. The food is super fresh and authentic with great flavors. We also got margaritas on the rocks and they were very good. Not overly sweet which is common at other restaurants.

Been here twice. The quality of the food was maintained both times. The service was okay, and the ambiance is good. Recommended.

Went there while in training for work. Food was decent. The service was a little off but I think the waiter was training. Overall a great spot. Seemed very busy. Had a decent menu with options for everyone. Price was on point for what we ordered.

The food was truly fresh and delicious. We were a party of 12, and the servers made it effortless and hassle-free. Our food came out in great time. Will definitely come again if we're in the area.

THIS PLACE IS THE BEST! I like quac ok, my husband doesnt yet he loved the guac! The fajitas were so juicy, Im always asking restaurants to make it juicy and it's usually not but these are so juicy from what they put on top! Salsa and chips were good and my husband loved the birria tacos with consomme dipping sauce

I haven’t done a food review in over a decade but I can’t let anyone else waste their time or money here. I was very disappointed when I opened my bag. This looks disgusting and there’s like 2 spoonfuls of rice. I didn’t even bother to open the container, just returned it. They’re expensive for no reason, this is what they serve. Not worth the money at all.

Love that they had vegetarian options. The vegetarian enchiladas are amazing. Bean burrito and mushroom tacos are also good. Every time i go i also get the house made limeade. Amazing. Love this place. Been coming here for years.

We stayed at the Red Lion Hotel next door and the restaurant came highly recommended by the hotel staff. Not only were we impressed with the flavors, but the service is absolutely superb. We had the queso blanco starter and shared the grilled fish tacos and carnitas tacos. We enjoyed it so much, we returned the next day. The salsa bar is an added touch 😙🤌 Overall really excellent experience

This place was amazing! There's convenient parking on the every side of the block. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The food was AMAZING! My wife and I had the guacamole, tacos, and churro (sp?) for dessert. Everything was fresh and had amazing flavors. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal, in a pleasant atmosphere, with staff that makes you feel welcome.

The food here is so delicious. The queso was unique and very yummy. You simply have to get the horchata.

Was recommended this place by a fellow traveller, but I can't say my experience matched hers. The service was great, got seated fast and waitresses were very attentive, menu looked good, free refills on soft drinks. Ordered chips and salsa along with enchiladas thinking I'd be waiting a little, but not 10 minutes into the chips my entree comes out, "careful the plate is hot". Ah, another masterpiece my Chef Mike! The serving size was decent, and it tasted fine, but $17 for some microwaved enchiladas is just unacceptable. Where's the heart in it?! Very likely won't return, which is a shame because I have no other complaints! The in-house salsa was great too!

Food is super fresh... I didn't confirm but it tastes like everything is made fresh every day in house. Portions are huge and delicious. 4 people ate and all 4 of us commented on the excellent quality. The server was very attentive. Always made sure our drinks were filled, empty dishes removed, etc. Definitely will return.

Food here is fantastic. The place gets five stars for the food alone. Service is a little bit indifferent. But what can you do. The sangria is a little watered down. But their margaritas are very good.

The food was both fresh and fabulous. The portions were very generous and the staff was both friendly and accommodating. A staff member even recognized my son's Cosmo jersey and acknowledged his favorite team. We suggest reserving a table as we did. We highly recommend this restaurant.

If you are HUNGRY for great Mexican and Latin-inspired food, you have found your spot. El Sol is a great place for lunch, dinner, or for a first date. The staff are very friendly and the food - anything on the menu - will leave you feeling full and happy. When the weather is warm, you can enjoy outside seating. If you are new to Harrisburg, visiting for a day or two, or just looking for a change of pace - El Sol is your destination for getting the best food and best service for your money. Stop by - you'll be so glad that you did. Best advice - come hungry!

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican, DON’T GO HERE. I went to El Sol because I was craving Mexican and I don’t usually hang around Harrisburg, but to my surprise, after seeing the countless of good reviews, I was extremely disappointed. While the service was okay (they seemed short staffed while I was there), the food was so bland. It didn’t taste gross or anything, but I went there expecting Mexican food that had lots of flavor. Not only was the food extremely bland, the prices didn’t match what they were serving. It was just extremely overpriced for what they had to offer. Very very disappointed. But I will say that we (my bf and I) finished most of our food because we were just super hungry already. It’s edible, but I know I’ll never go back there again.

I love this place. The service has always been wonderful. The pricing is excellent and the food is exceptional. They have a very impressive TEQUILA menu with the whole gambit of styles, quality and pricing. The atmosphere is pleasant and I will look forward to future visits very soon. Cheers M8!

Food was excellent, some of the best I've had actually. The service was lacking (we didn't get chips and salsa at all, drinks only came when food arrived, no water at all). They were busy but other tables had better service. Please do better in the future, as I said the food was great!

WARNING: Went here for lunch and as our usual we ordered margaritas. I noticed $10 for rail and $14 for better tequila. I did notice mp which I found odd since market price is usually for fresh seafood not liquor. Bill arrives $50 per margaritas we had our normal 2@ $200 for 4 margaritas! Beware mp could be $100 for each on your next visit. Either put price on menu or tell the customer up front. Shady!

I went there for Happy Hour with a friend and had a great time. The Happy Hour menu had a nice selection of items. We ordered a margarita pitcher and it was some of the best I have ever had. We ordered chips with a variety of sauces, and had a few of the tacos and everything was delicious. I can't wait to go back there for Taco Thursday.

The Host, Bartenders, and Servers are so friendly, attend to me and my friends on time every time I go there. I just moved to the area and this was the most authentic Mexican restaurant I’ve been too. The food was beyond expectation with a beautiful scenery it’s a nice place to take pictures for any event. Whether it’s prom, casual day , wedding, you can dress to any apparel and feel comfortable.

I have been coming here since the first day I moved here! The food is absolutely amazing and delicious! I also have ordered food to go it usually takes them about 10 minutes to make a burrito. The offer valet parking because there is construction on the corner so there is barely any parking. There is a parking garage two blocks away. The only thing that I would want to is for their carnitas to be served cut up if possible but the flavor is always right. I also have ordered a couple burritos for pick up and one time they did provide rice and beans and the next it was just the burrito. Overall, great dining experience. Great for groups and date nights.

I hope all is well, I must say I loved spending my evening here. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the place gives you a warm family atmosphere. The paintings are also unique. Best Mexican food in town !!!

Excellent food always and amazing service and workers. I got to meet Josue one of the owners I think and he was so nice and very much cares about the restaurant and his staff and food. He really strives to make it the best. He is awesome! -Rae
