Neat looking bridge for pedestrians and dogs. The narrow concrete walkway on one side is where most people walk on. The wider area of the bridge is metal and it has small holes where you can see through to the water. Definitely not paws friendly and not for those with fear of height. It has a great view and f the river on either side.

Any city would be lucky to have a pedestrian/biking-only bridge like this, right in downtown with gorgeous views of a river. Great spot to walk and enjoy the sunset.

First time visitor on Sunday October 21 2018. Walked halfway. Great views. Very windy. Actually too much wind so I walked carefully back to safer ground. Will visit again when visiting Harrisburg.

Love walking down by the river and around City Island. Very peaceful.

This bridge one side is concrete road, the other side is iron cable net so that you can see the water even boats crossing under your foot. be careful, don't drop your car key off, other wise you not able to drive home. I walked three times, first time afraid of the iron, second time walked on the net while look down at river, third time walked on the net but didn't looked down at the river.

This was so much fun to walk across and a great photo opportunity. It did somewhat bother my sister who has a problem with heights and water but she was fine as long as she stayed to the side. It's also nice to be able to park on City Island and walk over to Harrisburg or vice versa when enjoying a day in Harrisburg.

This bridge is awesome! Highly recommend if you are looking for something to do. A great way to get to city island if you wanted to check that out and are staying in the city. It also connects to the riverfront park which is great for biking, running, or walking along the river.

This Beautiful bridge gives walkers and joggers an amazing experience crossing from Harrisburg to City Island.

The Walnut Street Walking Bridge is definitely a landmark in Central Pennsylvania and is a great way to see the Susquehanna River and get from Downtown Harrisburg to City Island or vice versa. Great for walking, running, rollerblading, or just site seeing. I do wish the other wide of it was open to walk to the West Shore, bit that's been closed for years. Maybe some day!

I love walking across to Front street from the island. It looks beautiful at night with the lights as well.

I love this bridge. I lived in Harrisburg when the when it went down. That was my favorite bridge

Great walking bridge over the river, beautiful views. 🏙 Only thing I didn't like was the safety on the bridge for kids, I think it could have better railings.
