Really beautiful capitol building - one of the most beautiful I have been to. The grounds are also very nice and it is easy to access. We enjoyed our visit to Harrisburg and seeing the capitol building while we were there.

The building is so beautiful and the details in the art work is amazing! The stain glass windows are so beautiful, the bright and clear colors are just so awesome. I went with my son class on a field trip . I so wish we had more time to just take our time to see more of the whole building and intake the beautiful artwork. It's amazing how old the artwork is and doesn't even appear that old. The man who spoke to us about some of the artwork and rooms was so kind and very knowledgeable on everything! I am definitely looking forward to planning a trip on our own to take the time to really explore and enjoy the sights! They have clocks threw out the building that run by turning them it's amazing that someone has to go around and turn them ever so often! The chandeliers are so beautiful they are amazing! They say some of them to be cleaned have a man gets inside of it to clean it and change the bulbs. That's how big they are! Some of the kids were amazed at all the gold and saying about it being real or not. Our guide said if you can't touch it, it's gold. If you can touch it, it's probably not. Lol, either way its breath taking! The floor in the main hall is just a big mosaic it's definitely a must-see!

This is one of the best state capital buildings we've been to. We had a great tour guide to show us around and the building is beautiful with lots of art work, paintings, sculpture, stained glass, mosaics, marble and wood, etc. If you are in Harrisburg you must go and see this statehouse.

The worst place in the world. U will get a parking ticket if u look at a parking spot for too long....and then another one just because u r ugly. The girls r easy but the beer ain't cheap if ya know what I'm saying..... I'm pretty sure cockersmokers3 was filmed here....??? Stay away or U might go home with too many fleas.

I visit the Capitol when we lobby for Healthcare policies and it's always an enjoyable trip. Parking is a challenge so I suggest finding a parking garage or street parking nearby and walking to the Capitol, especially on a beautiful day. Security is friendly and when you get lost, the folks at the information desk will point you in the right direction. I said 'when you get lost' because you will, trust me. The building has had many alterations since it's initial construction and no matter how many times I visit, I inevitably take a wrong turn and need help finding my way. There's places to get snacks and the building is always very clean.

One of the nicest old-school Capitol buildings in the nation. It underwent a huge, much needed multi-year renovation 10 to 15 years ago. Ornate without being tacky. Nice fountain on the East (newer) side (closed in the winter).

It's a must see place in Harrisburg. I was lucky to join the tour and the tour was very educational. It's a beautiful historical place and it's free, so I see no reason not see it! :-)

The Capitol building and Capitol Park in the fall are gorgeous. The property and building were beautiful and they offer free tours that take roughly an hour. It's rich in history and the interior is absolutely amazing to see. They let you explore a large amount of the Capitol building on your own as well.

The capitol is beautiful inside. They only allow you in the main entrance on a Sunday, but the view and detail of the building is amazing. You can take beautiful pictures. If you walk down the stairs. You can also take amazing picture of the building.

First time ever visiting a state capitol building and it was pretty impressive. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and it was under an hour to visit the house of representatives, the Senate, and the supreme Court PA Chambers. The architecture is outstanding with ornate detail stemming from the French classical period. Built in 1909, when PA had the wealth to build such a magnificent structure and along the road to the Capitol there are plenty of places to get a quick bite.

412 Justice organized a charter bus to take a group of its members to attend Lobby Day. We were able to visit a few of the state representatives offices to speak with them personally about issues in our communities. We had lunch in the cafeteria, I got a salad from the salad bar and it was absolutely delicious. They even have a small gift shop. It's nice that they have days that the community is able to come there to have our voices heard on these important issues that affect black and brown people concerning education rights for our children, community, and environmental issues.

What a spectacular view. Events daily. They even have a lovely little eatery inside. The architecture alone is so amazing. So much history inside and out. If you have never been to your state capital, then I recommend that you visit.

The Pennsylvania Capitol building in Harrisburg is an extraordinary place to visit. It is open to the public to self guide your own way to see the different chambers with phenomenal paintings adorning the walls explaining our history. Murals and paintings were created by Violet Oakley who was chosen to put her talents onto our Capitols walls. It is truly an unforgettable experience that will leave you both inspired by the artwork and with a better understanding of Pennsylvania and Americas history.

Love going here to ride my bikes with friends. It is a perfect place to bike ride. The restaurants around the area are great. The scenery is amazing. Check out some of my pics from past rides.

Wonderful tour of the Capitol building. Stunning architecture and adornments, but the artistic wonders to me are the huge murals in the Senate Chambers and Supreme Court painted by Violet Oakley. Her vision of PA history shows not just the triumphs but the tragedy, like Lincoln's bowed head at Gettysburg. She shows the burdens of war, complex decisions, and irony. She weaves the words love and wisdom into the word Law in her more Deco design of the court chambers.

Free tours of the Pennsylvania State Capitol, every half hour year round. I believe it's only closed on Christmas. Artwork, murals, tiles, marble, granite, statues and opulence everywhere you look, inside and out. See the PA Supreme Court, PA House and Senate, the rotunda, fountain and Soldiers Grove. The view from the Capitol steps overlooks State Street right through to the Susquehanna River.

The artwork and grandiose is comparable to the Capitol in DC. Very knowledgeable tour guide and an absolute must go for anyone visiting Harrisburg. & ofc, it's free for everyone . I'll be going again very soon to look at the murals in detail.
