What a great Indiana State Park with a ton of history. Beautiful old growth forests on a scenic area along the Ohio River. You must check out one of coolest nature centers around. Also get the story in the old barn of the hay press and restoration of the barn.

Another wonderful Indiana State Park. What ever you do, you can do it here! Hiking, Biking, wild life watching, history, relaxing, camping with friends, you name it. We camped at site 84. The pad was fairly level but there was a step off that could cause you to trip if you weren’t paying attention. Fire pit are was clean and plenty of space to sit around the campfire. We were there on Memorial Weekend and it was very crowded. Lots of families, kids on bikes and scooters (they need to learn to look out for the walkers). We loved the Nature Center. It has a wonderful accessible 1 mile trail around it with information placards posted around the loop. There is a pioneer village with several exhibits that were very entertaining. We were also fortunate enough to see the huge Hay Press in operation with their oxen, Gump. The view of the Ohio River was amazing from the #2 Shelter House! I’m told they have an amazing pool but we did not use it however by the amount of hanging swimsuits and towels, it was well used! We will definitely consider returning.

Very nice park , ended up here after going to marengo cave , was not a planed visit just some random adventuring. Climbed the fire tower :). Then parked at the horse camp by the water recycling plant because some trees were down on the road , climbed over the trees and walked the road to the bluffs (7mile walk round trip), was a very excellent and cloudlessly beautiful day. Set by the Ohio river then Climbed the bluffs from the lower trail to the top , we set on a pick-neck table some one moved onto a boulder at the top of the bluffs for a few hours watched the boats and barges go by. Was amazing :)

Not very happy with our stay. We qualify for a handicap accessible site and it was anything but. It was sloped to the point where no wheelchair or scooter could possibly navigate it without injury. Our lot was a hill and the grass looked like it hadn’t been mowed for 3 to 4 weeks. You could not sit around the fireplace because it was on a hill also.Very disappointed. We requested a different table and no one came.

Cinco stars all around! Hard to get going though. Not clearly marked. It would be nice if the map included clear locations as well as marked on signs in the park. A logical frame of reference on where to start would be sweet. But I had a super time and met some cool people and did some awesome jumps and trails. I will go back there again in a heartbeat

The AHT was a great hike, starting in the campground it was a 2.5 day hike. The Lloyd shelter overlooking the Ohio River was a true gem.

Really nice place! First time here looking forward to coming back!! Make sure if you have a camper that you stop at the water station first and fill up, they don't tell you that up front. Other than that, a beautiful camp ground!!
