Came to Er at 6:30 pm its now 3:20 am. They tell me 45 min to an hour for the results. Its been 3 hours. So I ask them at the triage. N the little Chinese girl Siri I think her name was got extremely rude with me. Thanks for the other nurse Nicole who actually helped and knows her job. That other girl Siri is going to catch you guys a lawsuit. My recommendation would be to get rid of her. I noticed she was snapping at a few other patients as well. If u don't like your job find another one. Your a health worker for crying out loud, u work with people, if you don't know how to talk to people in a calm manner then you should just find another job. I'm disappointed n dissatisfied with the lack of respect that she gave my me n my family.

Today during my visit (AM hours ER) one of the patient's registering staff had a nasty attitude towards me as she was training another staff. Feeling extremely sick and trying to hold back from cussing her out made me think twice of returning back for care in the future. I've never experienced this before and will not tolerate disrespect. My medical data privacy was so violated to the point of a need for her to be disciplined. Luckily that I am not the Chief Director of her department or HR. YES, I will be contacting PATIENT RELATIONS for I have worked in healthcare close to 30 years. Saint Francis has the responsibility to provide patient care in a humane manner. Do not hire trash from the streets!!!

Mixed review. I was recently in for four days for lung cancer operation. Surgeon was great and all nurses except one night nurse were kind and courteous. That being said, I waited 1 1/2 hours for someone to help me when I had to urinate for the first time (no bedpans in my room or any other room my daughter looked in so that she could help). Also no one got me up to walk until 1 hour before I left even though I brought this to their attention. I do feel this set my recovery back and caused me to have to go home with oxygen. The food off the menu was horrible except for the omelette or muffins. Barely anything in cafeteria. Hardly ate anything while there. To be fair, my husband spent much time in this hospital and his care was exceptional and the food wasn't bad at all. I also ate many a night in the cafeteria. I believe all the problems I experienced were the result of COVID. Short staffed everywhere. There were actually two traveling nurses. The only reason I'm writing is so that you will understand the harm COVID has caused. Very Sad

I had my baby in January he didn’t get his first bath from the nurses for days. We called nurses for hours and no one ever showed, they never set up my insurance with husky as they said they would, they sent me out and discharged me with new baby in a state shut down from a Nor’easter. They never showed or taught me to pump or help me about it and now I have to pay for a birth certificate for my new baby and was never informed of this at hospital…. DO NOT GO HERE FOR A DELIVERY OF YOUR BABY

I was treated in late May for a possible heart attack, I was a bit upset due to the fact they put me in the waiting room but it went up from there. The staff are 5 stars and the doctor was there the whole step of the way. Once I was in the ICU the nurse was amazing I haven't eaten for hours and had to wait a bit more before the cafe can open for lunch. The nurse gave me a bag of veggie chips from her own lunch I was shocked not only that in general she was awesome and made me feel comfortable and in good hands. Hopefully I won't have to go back to the hospital anytime soon but if so I'll choose Saint Francis!

I went to the ER for severe abdominal pain and was quickly treated. I had surgery that evening a colostomy and also was treated for pancreatitis. The care, compassion and teamwork was much better than other local hospitals. The doctors were outstanding! The hospital was clean and all staff friendly and helpful. I was even visited by a priest and got communion and had a prayer session with him. I also enjoyed hearing the morning reflections. Thank you all for making a scary, unpredicted situation a positive one. I will definitely tell my family and friends to come to Saint Francis for care whether urgent or regular.

Worst experience if you are giving birth in my opinion, u never see the same doctor and are switched around from person to person. After my c-section delivery I was transferred to a extremely small room to recover. I’ve stayed in hotels that were cleaner than that room! The makeshift maternity ward had construction going on which could be heard from my room. The call button wasn’t placed within my reach and I had to yell for help for almost 5 minutes, if there would of been a emergency with my newborn those 5 minutes are extremely crucial. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone !!!!!!!!

Diane and Dana were fantastic in taking care of me before and after my procedure! The anesthesia team were also tremendous. Last but not least, my doctor performing my surgery and his team were amazing. All around great experience for surgery. They all made me feel very comfortable before my surgery. Thank you!

Please do NOT seek medical attention at this place My son was attending college in Massachusetts. He started having weird chest pain and was diagnosed with a heart issue. Because of his college status he was covered for health insurance. He left college due to his heart issue and the stress of college. He recently relocated to Connecticut. He no longer has health insurance because he relocated and is no longer in college. You know that catch 22 for a 24yo. He has sought medical attention at St. Francis three times since he relocated to Connecticut . Last Saturday was his most recent visit toSt. Francis, for chest pain. He checked in with the medical secretary complaining of chest pain. She told him that he would have to wait because this was his third visit to St. Francis. She totally dismissed his pain and the distress that he was exhibiting because of the pressure he was experiencing. She proceeded to argue with him. She documented his reason for the hospital visit as anxiety. They also lost his driver's license during this visit. There is no age limit when it comes to a parenting. Because I wanted to limit my son's stress due to him still experiencing mild chest pain, I told him I would contact the hospital on his behalf with him on the call. I was greeted with "St. Francis." I said with whom am I speaking to? You are talking with operator number 3. I replied "Oh wow ok." I explained that my son was recently seen in the ED on Saturday and was not given his driver's license back. I was then transferred 3 times, Kamila, Becky and finally to Carolyn. I explained the dilemma to Carolyn who stated she would look in the lost and found box and call me back. She called back within 5-7 minutes stating she was not able to find his driver's license. I inquired if he would be compensated for the cost of obtaining a new driver's license. She stated there was nothing she could do about it. I pretty much ended the call. This has to be the WORST hospital in America. Let's get started on what needs to be addressed. If a patient comes into the ED complaining of chest pain the first action is to get that patient to the triage area to obtain vitals and be assessed .You never argue with a patient about how many times they have sought medical attention. Let's move on to greeting without providing a name and your department? WOWwwww, training on hospital etiquette is needed. The whole transfer game is ridiculous! Training/ re-education on who works in what department with title and roles are needed there. The lack of empathy these employees has displayed is a reflection of the hospital. Losing someone's driver's license and being nonchalant, well that just means you suck as a human being, there is no fixing that. The appropriate response should have been " I am truly sorry this happened to you. I will contact Jane Doe to see how the hospital can compensate you for your loss. Someone will contact you with information on how to move forward." Throw away this whole organization and start all over again. Its hard to comprehend that a whole organization lacks hospital etiquette. The bizarre thing is the medical facility is not large, it only has 617 beds. One would assume being such a small medical facility they would provide exceptional care.

Waited in the ER for 6 hours just for the doctor to tell me to check in with my PCP! He was very dismissive and seemed to be in a rush. I also saw people come in with serious pain and injuries and all they were told by the receptionist is there are no beds. Update: went back because I’m still having headaches and the doctor who saw me was so dismissive, rude, and obviously didn’t care about anything I was saying, and he kept cutting me off when I was describing my symptoms. He seemed to be in a rush to do anything else. No one wants to feel like their pain doesn’t matter when sitting in an ER for hours.

I’m currently sitting here in the ER with my husband going on 10 hours now and so far they’ve taken a urine sample and taken his blood. He’s been asked the same questions at least 6 times “what made you come in” don’t you guys communicate? Whoever checked him out said they were extremely concerned for his liver but then leaves us in a hallway for 4 more hours? Make it make sense

Sheirly is very rude and works in the back.. when I asked for her last name she said “we don’t give those” which is fine but she knew why I was asking because she was being rude. I wasn’t trying to make any request as she insinuated. I was just trying make sure that they had somebody in to do an X-Ray on me IF needed. She barley let me speak and should not be answering phones to ER emergency department if she’s going to show no care.

I give the Emergency Department a 2 because of the uncleanness and communication to patients; setting patient expectation to alleviate anxiety. I've worked in a hospital before and there were several dedicated custodians readily available to clean the any exam, procedure, rooms, etc. in the ED. The room I was in (s29) had coffee stains on the floor among other stain and plain old dirt. That floor had NOT seen a mop for several months. Picture does not do justice.

I think the Nurses do more talking about there personal lives than helping people! I was at the Nurses station in the E.R and had to wait for them to finish their conversation.Just to not notice me. Its rude This is a Ghetto hospital it makes the 2 good Nurses i did have look bad. Still waiting to be discharged

I’m super super disappointed in Saint Francis. My mom was brought in by ambulance (she was in a bad car accident) and she’s been laying in the hallway in a bed for hours now. They gave her pain meds over an hour ago. Bag empty and no one has come to check on her. What’s even worse is that she laying in this bed in bad pain in the hallway. THE HALLWAY! She’s been waiting to get a Ct scan to make sure there isn’t any internal injuries. If there were any injuries or bleeding my mom would be dead. It would make people feel more at ease if staff would just check on their patients. I’ve seen multiple people going up to the desk asking about help and where’s their nurse. It seems they are understaffed and the patients are the ones who suffer. I swear I wish I can take my mom out this bed and leave, but I don’t want anything to be wrong. I’m so upset with this hospital that I’m writing this review while I’m here. I used to love Saint Francis but now I think I’ll be going to Hartford Hospital.

For me, they had better care than at Hartford Hospital. This happened before the pandemic. I needed hospitalization and Hartford Hospital discharged me from the emergency room without caring how I felt. I arrived in San Francisco and there I received the care I really needed. So much so that they hospitalized me for 4 days. until my recovery. Thank you very much for your attention, both Dr and nurses, I was blessed and very well cared for. dlbm

this is by far the worst patient communicating hospital in the world... Pray, that if you are being treated by Trinity you do not have to call with an emergency!!! suppose you're dying... and want to inform your medical support... after you've tried to reach Trinity, you'll hear... call 911.. why should I call the police for medical care?

Now going on 1:00am sitting in the hall with my husband who was brought in by ambulance around 4:30pm with a severe bladder infection and possible TI. Humiliating, horrible experience.if I were not hear he would be suffering all night. Planning to admit him but of course a room is not available. Clearly you are short staffed and stretched thin. No confidence. Horrible conditions in the hall with a husband in pain. I appreciate follow up.

My wife had stage 1 cervix cancer. These people have kicked thier feet until it became stage 3. Simple surgery they said. After 4 weeks of, " we need this scan, oh..wait..we need that scan..oh wait...I need a certified board of monkies to tell me which direction I need to take..which unfortunately takes 2 weeks..(seems they have other obligations than my wifes cancer) so now it's stage 3..sent thru the vicious pre op of chemo and radiation.. the port placement was epic...that is where the fantastic nurse at that port placement clinic let my wife puke all over her self and sit it it for 2 hours because that nurse couldn't deal with vomit.. But now my wife has to go to internal radiation but with a different hospital...4 weeks ago we seen this provder...and they call my wife today saying her insurance is not in network.. 4 WEEKS AGO WE SEEN THIS DOCTOR AT HHC..AND TODAY, THE DAY BEFORE HER FIRST APPT THEY CALL AND SAY THEY CANT TREAT HER???!!! You guys at st Francis...have like done this before right??? Your scaring me. I love my wife.. 38 years my best friend..

I suffered a major Heart Attack on January 8th, 2023 at 9:22 AM. After being rushed via Enfield EMS to St Francis, I spent 5 minutes in the Emergency Room before being rushed to the Cath Lab. The whole entire time before I was anesthetized, I had at least 5 people holding my hand, constant reassurance I would be fine, and I needed this because I was horrified. I was in Enfield for a Dog Show, and I live on Long Island. Dr. Joseph Mitchell was my Cardiologist, put 2 stents in my heart, and visited with me that afternoon after the surgery, and again the next day. From the Ambulance crew to every single person I dealt with in the Hospital, I was treated with respect and unparalleled care. The Nursing Staff were the very, very best. And the food was great as well. These people were my Guardian Angels, they all truly saved my life. I will always be grateful and pray for them all daily.

My daughter is in the hospital. I cannot get there because I am a caregiver for my husband. I wanted to cheer her up. I called the gift shop. Ada was the one who helped me. She was the sweetest and so helpful to me. Everything she picked out was perfect and made my my daughter's day. Thank you so much 💓

The Nurse who was supposed to be taking care of me didn't exactly do a nice job of it because I came in with Hyperglycemia from Dangerous High blood sugar due to type 2 diabetes that I have! She put an I.v. in my arm with solution to help Bring my blood sugar levels down to a safer level. I was Intentionally Ignored and had an Empty I.v. bag with i.v. left In me for Over 2 hrs!! Her name is Maggie in the E.r. Dept from Yesterday's visit to E.r. on 07/21/23. Then after the Very Poor Service I Received from the E.r nurse Maggie I Ended up having to Remove my Own (Empty I.V. bag Along with I.v. that was Attached to me because No One cared to Check on me or Remove it to discharge me At the time. I Honestly Wouldn't Recommend going to this hospital again if you have a medical emergency,Please try to find somewhere else to go other than St.Francis Hospital 🏥.I'm Very Disappointed in this place and the Nurse in Particular overall.

I just left there on Sunday with a kidney infection. When I came in, I had been sleeping day and night fore two weeks. I was given an antibiotic intravenously. My condition never seemed to improve. I was not allowed to eat or drink and my mouth began to peel and form blisters. I kept asking them why I could not drink but I knew they were punishing me due to a letter I had written to them 3 years earlier about the treatment of blacks in their emergency room. They also kept withholding pain meds that I take everyday for my spine. They were trying to make me suffer. I finally just got up and left, even though I had no walker or cane with me. Im 69 and almost died trying to make it out the building. Today, I am feeling no better, even though they prescribed antibiotics. So much more I could say but black people, speak up. Don't let them keep treating us any kind of way.

My family member received excellent care at St Francis Hospital in Hartford. The people who work there made us, as visitors, feel welcome, informed and included. The hospital is immaculate, well equipped and well run. Can’t say enough about the kind nurses and doctors. Everyone we came in touch with were wonderful including the security staff, nurses aids, students, valets, gift shop, housekeepers, dietary, labs, X-rays. Many thanks to all the people who work at St Francis Hospital!

This sorry excuse for a hospital is the no doubt the worst hospital in Connecticut. I’ve been to many emergency departments within the state as my job takes me there and I’ve never seen the borderline criminal treatment of patients that this hospital and its administration and staff enacts. I’ve seen staff ignore patients for hours on end, some patients laying in their own feces, not even in a room but stuck in a busy hallway while I’m sure charging the same as if they had a private room. I’ve seen maximum security inmates also placed in hallways, putting officers, other patients and the public’s safety at risk. They lie to their patients about patient rights regarding AMA and discharge procedures. They stall on paperwork for discharge to be able to bill more for longer stays to the insurance companies. The staff is unbothered and uncaring about any concerns I’ve ever heard from patients. Please do yourself a huge favor for the sake of your health, time and money and go to Hartford Hospital or UCONN if you have an emergency. They actually care about more than your money. If I could give zero stars I would.

I want to thank the staff of the Ambulatory surgery section for the kind and professional care I received today. I would especially like to thank Dr. Tanden who performed the surgery. They all gained my sincere confidence in their abilities and I would not hesitate to be a patient there in the future if needed.

Nobody wants to come to the hospital but when you don’t feel good; where else are you going to go.. To the emergency room.. customer service sucks from the time you we walked through those glass door.. security gave me the visitor attitude.. nurses ignored us and talking around the front desk talking about they’re plans for the evening.. but the Benjamin was totally awesome.. and Dr. Macadoo was awesome

Dr. Pimentel - Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine is a WONDERFUL, GENUINE, overall splendid doctor! She saved my baby’s life at 26 weeks pregnant when she did my cerclage. My healthy baby boy was born at almost 39 weeks! He made it because of her! Through out all my appointments with Dr. Pimentel she made me feel comfortable and heard. I’m a new mommy and I had so many questions and concerns but Dr. Pimentel eases all of my worries. I HIGHLY recommend future mommies to see Dr. Pimentel. Once again Dr. thank you for all you’ve done and saving my baby’s life.

If I could give zero I would. The employees here are not only unprofessional but have disgusting personalities, and the least of their worries is your health. They will hang up in your face, and have no desire to help you proceed with the best care. So if your looking for a hospital to take care of you and not objectify you, do not go here!

We are from Maine but had an emergency while traveling through CT on 2/22 the security staff were accommodating helping us park our truck and trailer. All the er staff were nice and helpful getting us in and out timely and taking care of my husbands hand. I appreciate how busy they were and not one of the staff were unpleasant. Thank you all Douglass family

I always get personal care and attention. I am always given an explanation of my health issues and what the medications will do for me. The CHF Clinic always goes the extra yard for me. I often feel like I’m visiting friends. My friends, the doctors, nurses and staff, are knowledgeable, current, and always helpful. One other thing that I think is particularly important, is that my care is a collaboration between the medical staff and myself. My voice and concerns are always considered in any treatment.

Overheard a nurse saying she had 9 PATIENTS at the ER. My aunt was a nurse and an ER nurse with 9 patients is absurd and dangerous. There is no possible way a nurse could do her job effectively and safely with that amount of patients. Saint Francis needs to stop funding their CEOs and start funding for more nurses and techs. Disgusting how many greedy this hospital is. Don’t go to this hospital for an emergency if you want Good quality care.
