I feel this place would be fine for a school day trip for elementary age students. Interesting place.

The exhibits inside the visitor center are great, especially the huge keel boat display. But outside, the fort was in desperate need of funds because it was falling apart and so you can't visit it. The cabin, also outside, was really interesting. But it was extremely warm inside and there was a major issue with bees or wasps that made my son scared to enter the cabin. Also, the guy at the main desk had an attitude when I asked where the real passport cancellation stamp was located. I had to go asking at the other counters because anyone not associated with the bookstore, was obviously bitter about something regarding that stamp. So don't ask for it, if you're a collector. Just for where the gift shop is, And save yourself the headache. But overall, the interior exhibit shows an important part of the expedition. About a part the is typically never focused on, at all. The portion the started it, in Illinois.

Very cool place. When you go in you go left to the museum and the rebuilt fort. Make sure, after you see the cabins and the boat and read about what they did here, that you take the road, that would have been on your right on the entrance, to the river. Less than half a mile. The whole thing comes together. It is really cool!

This is for the park, not the museum which I believe is listed under "Lewis and Clark State Historic Site." I was underwhelmed by this park. Turns out there are two roads, the one on the right leading to a place where you can view the confluence and see a historic plaque that is not in great condition and an information board. The road going left takes you to a parking lot on the river with a small picnic area. But with all this green space on the map, I sort of thought there might be some trails, etc. If there were I couldn't find them. There was one long looking bike trail though (not sure where trailhead is). I couldn't find any park maps anywhere on the web either. So this is a good place to see the confluence from this particular vantage point, especially as the other two vantage points are both closed due to past flooding at this time, but I would have liked to see some more guidance on what the park has to offer if anything. Maybe it really is just a fishing and viewing spot.

Plaque is hard to read. Nothing there but a stone plaque and a info board.

It was a rather fun experience to see the exhibits inside. Hope they are able to fix up the outside cabins with authentic materials. They have a little gift shop that had several items of interest. The staff was very friendly. And they have nice pavilions outside for a get-together. Also has a walking path that is well maintained.

Very enjoyable and educational. The park is an adventure in nature and history. The Lewis & Clark exhibit has tours daily mon-fri. The park and restrooms are open daily mon-sun, park closes at 5pm. The park is also located at the north end of the Chain of Rocks canal system. A great fishing and picnic spot and if lucky enough you will see American bald eagles flying overhead from time to time

What an awesome place to visit. Sad to say I never knew it was there. Next visit to Illinois hopefully it will be open. I am really looking forward to it.

This area is part of the Lewis & Clark State Historic Site. You can view the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers from here. (Note: The park gates close at 5 p.m.)

This park is a wonderful place. My boyfriend brings me here. We can go for walks by the river or lay out a blanket and cuddle up. I consider it our adult time out spot.
