Wow, this is a place where you don't let first impressions get you down. I arrived at 2:20 p.m. on a Friday afternoon and was greeted with a girl at the front desk who stated my housekeeping staff just got here, you can't have your room right now. I asked if I could have a cup of coffee, she said yes but the coffee was either empty or cold. At this point I was regretting my decision to stay at this hotel. However we left and came back an hour later and were greeted with a very hard worker by the name of George. Every time I encounter George he was full of kindness, helpfulness, and they can do Spirit in his job. He worked hard every time I interacted with him. He checked us in very efficiently. Remedied the cold coffee situation. Gave us new shampoo and we discovered that the shampoo in our room was only half full. The next morning he assisted us with breakfast. This hotel is in a great location and is blessed to have a good hard worker like George. Hopefully the rest of the staff will pick up his winning attitude for customer service. Overall the hotel is clean and everything worked fine. This is a good place to stop if you need to stop in this area.

My husband and I only stayed one night, but it was very relaxing. I had planned to have their free breakfast, but when I glanced at the time, it was already 8:30, so I missed it. However, I heard it was very good. I plan to visit here again in my near future!

The stay was great...the room was clean, just not smelling as clean, but alright. Front desk needs some social work, he was adequate but felt botheted by social interactions. He did his best...thats what counts..morning person was very elusive and not up to par..i like the hotel!! A few minor updates, as my boyfriend pointed out and a better good smell and its worth the price... This is not a diss but an honest opinion! The hotel has all the markings of being the best in the atea...minor things are minor things, cause we all have our own standards...I do recommend this gem in the making! 100%

The fan in our bathroom didn't work. The waffle batter dispenser was nearly empty at 9:00 and no one available to answer questions. All that aside, it was clean and well kept and the price was incredibly low. I would stay here again

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The room we had 115 bathroom tub was dirty and floor had hair on it. Then the TV wasn't working our whole stay told the front desk and she kept talking about she emailed the manager and they wouldn't even give us a discount for the inconvenience. Then the vending machine was out of order and empty and dirty. Also no ice machine on any of the floors. Then the gym room was also out of order. I just don't know how this hotel is still in business and can't even give the customers basic services 🙄

We won’t choose this hotel again. It’s run down, smells very musty, our room reeked of cigarette smoke, the thermostat was missing the arrow buttons ( I had to put my pinky finger inside where the wires are to adjust the temperature) , the bottom of the tub was gray and gross, all of the metal in the bathroom is rusty, the staff was lacking. The breakfast guy was too busy playing his video game to take the chairs off the tables for breakfast. We were very happy to leave.

It not as bad as people rated them. You get what you pay for. Our room was clean. The bathroom needed a little cleaning. It's nothing lysol couldn't fix. (PRO Tip: It doesn't matter what hotel you stay in. You should always have a bottle of lysol) The front clerk was nice. The breakfast was just like any free breakfast.

Beyond disgusted! Toilet stopped working, would not flush. Turned water on to take a shower, and lucky I let the water run for a few minutes to get the water warm and the water started coming out yellow!! As if it was the same as in the toilet! Gross!

My mom stays here all the time. We love the Rooms. The breakfast used to be excellent now it’s horrible. Went down for breakfast the eggs was watery like very watery it looked like slop mind you we have stayed at this hotel multiple times. The apples looks like they just sats out an old. Maybe try adding something else or the person that works morning shift don’t know how to make breakfast. When the African American gentleman was there in the morning the breakfast was nice he made sure nothing wasn’t ranned out an asked if we needed anything he was so sweet .

I stayed in this hotel a couple of weeks ago, and this hotel is not worth the money they charge for the rooms. When I walked into the hotel, I was greeted by a very nice front desk receptionist that told me everything about my room and the amenities. All of the employees were very nice my entire stay at this hotel and the best part of the hotel sadly. When I got to the second floor, the ac did not work in the hallway to the room so it felt like walking into a sauna immediately when I got to the second floor. When I walked into my room, it was decent. The bed was comfortable, but there were stains everywhere. Mysterious stains. These stains were all over the carpet and the chair in the room. The T.V. barely worked on most channels and when it did, it was mostly static showing on the screen. I did not try the breakfast the next morning just because I wanted to leave this hotel immediately when I woke up. This hotel needs a lot of renovations to even make sense for anyone to stay here with the prices they charge.

Let me start by saying that I had called this hotel a couple of days before our reservation, and the person who answered the phone, answered it by just saying , " Yeah! ". No greeting or anything. Then once I asked for confirmation for if we could check in a couple of hours early, the next response was simply, " Uh-huh". I just hung up the phone afterward. The day we checked into the hotel, my wife and I noticed several things and issues from the beginning and just from the first night and following morning. 1. Hotel manager at the front was the same person whom answered the phone a few days prior. 2. After we checked-in, we noticed the fire-alarm in the hotel room was pulled out with wires showing. 3. The hallway and lobby smelled musty and outdated. Musty from lack of cleanliness. 4. Had to ask the manager/front desk for "do not disturb" signs. She said housekeeping had them. I asked house keeping and they said they do not have any. 5. Wi-Fi is unsecure, so the so called premium Wi-Fi that's listed as an accommodation, isn't necessarily premium if anyone can access it and it's public. Not to mention, it kept going in and out. 6. 1st morning, I had inform the front desk manager that their were several breakfast items out. The response we received was as if they were annoyed and we were being a nuisance to her. Not only that, but there was a nice puddle of water in the breakfast lobby, in which I informed her of too. Not sure where it came from but she ignored it, even after walking over to that area. ( No wet floor sign and didn't even bother wiping or cleaning it up ) 7. 2nd morning of breakfast, same thing. This time, we just said whatever and didn't even bother sitting down and eating there. 8. As we were leaving our stay, housekeeping left their cart in the middle of an already narrow hallway and with the luggage cart, both can't side by side. The cart was at the lobby side of the hallway and one of the gentleman that looks like he may own or help run that location, simply just sat there and watched me as I am trying to move the cart in order to get down the hallway. At this time, he had his feet propped up on the same table in the lobby for the 3 hours we went in and out of our hotel room and the lobby. (Between breakfast and packing up our vehicle). This is absolutely one of the worst hotel stays we have been a part of. And it certainly leaves a terrible taste in our mouths for Choice Hotels. Especially with the signage in the hotel, claiming it's all about service and it's excellence.

If I could give zero stars I would. The lady checking us in was unprofessional and did know what she was doing. When we walked in the room, the their were roaches crawling on the walls and termites around the window. We had a group of 8 families that booked rooms with us. We all immediately left and got a refund.

Fire alarm went off at midnight and nothing was wrong. Woke everyone up in a panic. Breakfast is horrible and the lady preparing it was not wearing gloves (so unsanitary). Worst experience ever and not worth the money to stay here.

We chose this hotel because it was highest rated. The hallway smelled musty. The fire alarm was ripped out if the wall. The bathtub was stained. The first big light hanging in front of you as you enter was full of dead bugs. Staff was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was definitely not the safest either. Lack of choices is the only reason to stay here.

The hotel is nice overall. Bathrooms a bit grungy. Breakfast was lacking. I had good experience with service, but others in our party did not. Pretty close to USM

Hotel is clean front desk employee is very friendly and very helpful lobby smells clean and fresh the bad the room stinks like mold and mildew gave me a headache and sore throat. Floor was wet and burnt out light bulbs. bathroom fan don't work bathroom door handle is broke light fixtures are rusted. TV is old would flicker while watching. Rooms are clean but out dated and Maintenance is very poor. Need some serious updates and figure out ventilation AC smell and mildew before people get sick.

Common issue in this hotel is the sink plug maybe in place, and a front desk does not know how to fix it. It turned out that it is "push-in and push-out" type. If plug is in place, push it like a button, and it should rise up and unclog the sink. I put 3 stars because this was our issue with the room, and suffered from nonfunctional sink overnight. Another front desk personal next morning told me how to fix it. The check in lady (one ignorant) also did not know how to honor payment through agents, she double charged me upon check in. I had the another person fix it next morning. I was gonna do 1 star, but the person fixed me next morning fixed my rating as well. Breakfast was good.

DIRTY AND POORLY MAINTAINED. Initial room did not have a shower curtain but DID have a large, dead bug on the bed. When I reported it to the desk the young lady went looking for a spare curtain that I would then need to install myself. No luck so she agreed to move us. After packing everything up, we moved to a new room where halfway through the night we discovered the toilet was stopped up. We made it until early morning and then used the lobby restroom. HERE'S THE STRANGE PART... at checkout I told the clerk about everything and politely requested a discount on the price of the room. She never said a single word. Not a question. Not an apology. NOTHING. She printed the receipt, folded it neatly, handed it to me, and motioned to the next customer. SILENT. To my surprise, the receipt showed a full refund. I was thankful for the consideration, but confused as to how she couldn't apologize. PS... The customer behind me was also reporting an issue with the sink not draining.

Horrible place to stay! Hotel smelled terrible including the room. Door to room would not lock. I put my luggage in front of door for some type of security. Management did not send anyone to fix the lock and I was afraid to sleep. Front desk was called several times regarding all problems. Toilet will fill up to top of bowl as if it would overflow. Sink in bathroom also filled up with water when turned on. Front desk told me to come and get a plunger myself which I did as was afraid toilet and sink would overflow. The tub looked as if it had not been cleaned in ages! Pictures are proof. Hotel has a serious plumbing problem. Light in bathroom would not work. Front desk sent a man who replaced bulb which went out five minutes after he left and had to return to replace again. Room was filthy dirty with dust every where. Phone on desk dirty with piles of filth on it as well as lamps. Management was informed of all the problems but never offered to change my room. I was told that "I can go somewhere else." There was no vacancies at other hotels as I checked. I had my six year old great grandchild with me and was treated badly. I was never rude to management but was treated rudely by staff. Manager was person who checked me in and then lied about who she was when I called after I returned home. I did inform manager that I would contact Corp Office which I did. I reported all the problems to them as well. This hotel need to be investigated as they are taking money from people and not offering good service. I was afraid to sleep in the bed and stayed up until around 3am and had to get up at 4:30 am to leave for Sturgis, MS for the burial of my mom. Yes, I was there for burial services for my 98 year old mother. This hotel have a lot of major problems that Choice Hotel need to investigate and see for themselves. I was not the only person complaining as when I went to front desk, there was a couple other people complaining as well. This is by far the most horrible and frightening experience I've had to deal with. If other people are saying they had a good experience, they are lying or just used to living in disgusting living conditions. After I contacted the manager again regarding my stay, she agreed to refund me for my stay. I'm still waiting to be reimbursed. Corp office is aware of everything. I would have left if I could have gotten a reservation elsewhere. FYI: I stayed at another Choice Hotel in another town two days prior to checking in at Sleep Inn and had no problems and had a very good stay there and returned there after checking out of this hotel.

My wife and I have been coming to Hattiesburg to visit family for years, and we have tried many different hotels in the city. My wife uses a wheelchair and is very picky about wheelchair access in the room and the quality of service provided by the hotel. Over the years, we have found that the combination of room quality and hotel service is the best in Hattiesburg for wheelchair users. If you have a disability and need a hotel in Hattiesburg, you should stay in Sleep Inn & Suites. They are the best.

Room was nice, tv worked but was not clear. Got up to take a shower, no hot water! Went to call the front desk.. phone didn't work. Called from my cell, took 3 times for them to answer, was told that the water only went to a certain temp.. so just.. cold or freezing? Had to dry some clothes, light didn't work in laundry... Mold in ceiling, and bottom of tub was not clean. Never returning.

The room was adequate and the bed comfortable. The shower was poor… put on straight hot and it alternated from warm to cold repeatedly. The breakfast was pitiful. At 6 am, when it’s supposed to start, the hot water was cold, and the selection was awful. Yogurt, waffles, two cereals, apples, tiny muffins, eggs, sausage, and bagels that are hard as rock and nigh impossible to chew with average human teeth. I’m not sure if the breakfast is a repetitive issue but the one night I stayed I was far from impressed. I cannot speak to the staff as I’ve had minimal interaction with them but they seem nice enough.

Room was large, we had a king bed and full bed. The room mostly was clean, with the exception of the animal/dog smells that couldn't be ignored. Thankfully I had a large can of lysol to get us though the one night stay. We had to stay there in a pinch. I wouldn't choose to stay there ever again.

The staff was friendly and my bed was so comfortable. One thing I appreciated about the bed was all the pillows . The room was clean and smelled decent . The A/C worked properly and I slept peacefully. One thing I would like to point out (WHICH THE HOTEL HAS NO CONTROL OVER) is that sometimes I had got a scent of marijuana that would creep into my room. I wish those individuals would have taken their habits outside and follow the rules as stated by the hotel because we were in a non smoking section . Overall, I would definitely recommend!
