To be honest if I could rate lower I would after my experience with rivers edge. Me and my girlfriend made an appointment to look at some apartments they had available and we where blown off. This wouldn't be a big deal if she didn't drive 2 hours to see this apartment in hopes to move to the area and the fact that I left work early too. The appointment was for 4:30 and the office closes at 5pm, I arrived there at 4:15 and was let in by a tenant only to discover the office lights where all off. Just a word of advice if your looking here call in the morning to make sure you won't be forgotten.

This is a great apartment for low income, the elderly, and young people just starting out. Utilities are included, the apartments are in ok shape, and the maintenance team and office staff work hard to provide comfortable living areas for everyone. Here’s why this apartment complex gets two star: 1.Parking. There’s none of it. I’ve been waiting since I moved in (August 2018) for a spot and I’ve been given a temporary spot recently (February 2019) that I have to share with businesses (cannot park 7am-7pm and I must share with other residents after hours. It’s MISERY owning a car and living in Haverhill. The apartment complex tows often. Haverhill offers free parking by the police station. Management is working to address this issue but it’s unresolved. Update: I spoke with Katie and there’s significant improvements and flexibility here. Update: April 2019 and I’ve secured a permanent parking spot. The parking situation is much better for me. 2. Legal and illegal drug use: it smells like weed Thursday-Sunday and sometimes early in the morning. I’ve been told there’s nothing the apartment complex can do about this problem. 3. Basic Apartment Items like the fridge, sinks, and toilets are all very old and require a lot of maintenance requests. The maintenance team does the VERY best they can given the amount of complaints they receive and they work diligently and show an awful lot of respect towards residents. My sink is constantly clogged and when it’s fixed the tub and sink are both slow to drain. My fridge broke after a power outage and needed replacing. All my food spoiled and it took them a couple weeks to get a new one in. It’s an inconvenience. The staff really do try their hardest to keep up. 4. Office management changes often. A lot of staff BURNOUT from the abuse they take from residents. Many come and go. I’ve watched three management staff leave since I moved in (August).

Wasn't able to look at any units as they no longer accommodate low-income rentals. ** I was rejected

DO NOT move in unless you want to be living amongst cockroaches and patches of black mold all over the walls/ceiling. The bathroom vent fans haven't worked in ages but management has higher priorities (such as redesigning the front lobby) than taking care of the residents. This creates for a very damp bathroom area and huge patches of mold which are eating into the drywall. I've been living in these moldy conditions for months now and my breathing has suffered from it. Between my allergic reaction to the mold and the cockroaches which have infested the entire building, I've developed chest tightness and chest pains. Management was informed of the roaches months ago but decided to hire a "professional" who only sprayed the kitchen. I don't know any self-respecting exterminator who would spray just one area of an apartment, let alone avoid spraying all the other apartments on that floor so the problem doesn't immediately come back. And the problem did immediately come back. My apartment has been uninhabitable for months now and a lot of the time, management will not respond to my emails or phone calls. When they do respond, it's weeks later and without a solution. The entire parking lot and elevator is often littered with empty nips and other garbage. Management has instructed residents to smoke tobacco and marijuana right in front of the back door, not even 5 feet from the building (against state law). There are actual children that live here and get marijuana smoke blown in their faces. There is also a narcotics problem in the building, and the cops are here regularly. People deal drugs right in the parking lot outside the building. The elevators are covered in graffiti and often times filled with trash or blood due to fighting. There is always trash everywhere. Rats have been reported to be living in apartments as well by my neighbors. This is the scummiest place I've ever lived.

The staff aren't brave enough live here so I suggest you don't either. Weird though because they're cockroaches like you'll find throughout the building

Leah is amazing and she totally makes living here a excellent experience. Sure the building has some issues but Leah is trying her best to fix those issues.

Is this considered stealing if we pay for parking and this person takes our parking. Third time now someones been stealing from us.

It’s always a pleasure working with Leah & Diana at the Atherton Apartments. When I bring my clients for a tour they always make us feel welcome. When I have clients who are looking for a place to call home around the Haverhill area, Diana is the first person I reach out to for the current availability at the Atherton. I am grateful of our partnership and I look forward to working with Diana & Leah for the foreseeable future!
