If you have taste buds, then don’t eat here. You will be highly disappointed. The service was quick and friendly, but the food is terrible. Green bean and dumpling soup??? Should be called slop soup. The hamburgers are pre-made soy patties, that are gray when they bring them out. I’m pretty sure they boil the patties. We didn’t finish anything, hotdogs for the kids were dried out and took two bites of burger and thought I was going to throw up. Total waste of $57. I thought this place would be good, because it looks like a old diner. The best part of this meal was the mustard.

10/10 double burger good flavor paired with a strawberry shake! The girls who were working were super friendly. Loved the vibe of the place. Will stop in whenever we are driving through and need a bite!

Hands down the best burger I had eaten in a long time….I had a bacon cheeseburger and the wait staff recommended the onion rings and I had a peanut butter shake omg I had to eat it with a spoon and the peanut butter flavor the best …..I took a bus load of students when I went there and they were great with customer service and getting food to us in a timely manner I ate my food on the bus but couldn’t have been more satisfied….. I will be coming back Vernies you can just expect it every time I am in Hays Kansas!!!!

This was only my second time eating here, but both times were good. The prices here are really good compared to eating out at some places now. They have great milkshakes and really good burgers. The staff is nice also!

If you're looking for an old-fashioned hamburger joint this is the place the staff and owners are extremely friendly and the food has a good quality to it and it just has his own charm.

Vernie's is a quality local restaurant with good prices and an even better atmosphere. We like to have our date nights in here when we can. Very good amount and quality of food for the price.

Cozy little mom and pop restaurant. Simple dishes with American and german influences. Customer service with a smile and qaulity product at a reasonable price. Historic building and popular local spot.

Food beyond delicious 😋. A little pricey but worth every penny. Handmade hamburgers take a minute as they cook your food but well worth the wait. Daughter loved the oreo shake.

My brother and I are out here from Oneonta Alabama for our yearly out of state deer hunting trip. Although the deer hunting might suck, the bacon cheese burger, corn nuggets, and peach milkshake did not. This food is the best thing that’s happened to me all week. I would definitely recommend eating here.

Friendly cashier. Good burger shop atmosphere. You can definitely tell burgers are made with fresh meat. Could use more peppers on my Philly Burger. Quick in and out even though very busy

The employees were friendly and helpful and the burgers were delicious. It looks like an older building but it was clean and in nice shape. I would come again.

Paid $12.00 for a happy meal. The Philly burger was smaller than most places kid’s happy meals. It came with 4 onion rings that tasted like the oil was a month overdue of changing. I ate there at 1pm, and have been burping ever since, reminding me of the terrible onion rings and the over priced tiny meal that still left me hungry. The food was warm tho!

I just love eating at vernier. The Patty's are hand formed as soon as you place your order. The shakes are made with real ice cream the way they made them back in the day & the French frys are just as awesome. The prices are comparable to other hamburger places but the quality of service and food is not. They're much better! I recommend that you go to vernie's and see for yourself you won't be sorry. Absolutely worth coming in to get a bowl on green bean dumpling soup and anything else. Love stopping in and reminiscing about when I came in with my Grandma and Aunt as a kid.

I liked the cheeseburger and onion rings. However, their pop tasted a little funky and we were not the only customers that thought so. I did not feel that the waitress was very understanding. They did replace our drinks with something else but she acted very displeased.

Good place to stop in for a bite of classic American food. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and my fiancé ordered the 3 piece chicken strips. The burger was good. Not too big. Not too greasy. The chicken strips were bigger than we expected and were nice and juicy. We also ordered chocolate milk shakes which were the highlight of the meal. The prices are fair and the atmosphere was quaint. We'll stop in again next time we're in town.

Quite basic as an old fashioned diner. Very clean and well run. Hamburger was good...not great, but pretty darn good. Definitely recommended though. I went all the way up and down that main drag and just didn't see anything too exciting but this place.

Burger didn't have any flavor the color was gray and the fries were frozen. Reminds me of fast food.

What a great find! Was traveling through KS and wanted a quick bite to eat and saw this establishment and decided to give it a try! They have some of the best burgers and fries I have had and the homemade shakes were the perfect treat! A definite place to stop!

Thought it would be a neat roadside burger joint. Took a long time for 3 hamburgers. Just frozen greasy patties that had horrible flavor. Tried to eat it but just couldn't do it. Left and went to Sonic.

I stopped for a quick burger and waited 25 minutes. Burger wasn't that good either. I should have gone to McD or Sonic. I could have been back on the road sooner with a better burger 🍔 😋.
