Weak Mexican food, no seasoning tasted Mexican including the salsa. If you want American-ized then this is your place. Very popular though, I just recommend you find something more authentic.

We travel to Hays every November for basketball tournaments. Usually we eat at the fast food restaurant's near the highway. This time we decided to try something new. Near the University. Taco Shop was very delicious. Prices very reasonable Portions very filling Staff very friendly and helpful Food very tasty. Very yummy!! They have three sauces. Mild, hot and very hot. They offer customers the ability call in orders and drive up to pickup. YOU CANNOT ORDER IN THE PICKUP AREA!

Upon moving to Hays 5 years ago all the locals point me to Taco Shop. Not only is the food horrible, it's the worst taco shop I've ever been to in my life. I am amazed and dumbfounded anyone would think this place has acceptable food. It's like some kind of collective delusion. There are excellent authentic Mexican spots in town and I hate to say it but Taco Bell is five levels up from this dump.

Ordered my food. I got a spicy Burrito. I didn’t even think it was spicy. Plus it looks like something I could have made at home in 5 minutes… Food tasted Fine but definitely Catered to a white person that can’t handle spicy.

Wow, I don't live in town now and look forward to coming back and eating at my favorite place, atleast 3 times before I go back home. This time it was terrible. They changed there receipe on there meat, it doesn't have a good flavor at all. I will not be going back, very disappointed.

I mean, what can I say? If you’re from Hays, this is probably the town’s most famous restaurant. I grew up with it, and I love it. My wife (not from Hays, never had Taco Shop until she was 37) now loves this place. Some of their items are meh, but the “staples” are just great. The service and management do a great job here. Fast, friendly, and mostly consistent. 5 stars. All the way. Mic drop.

We are from way way far away. A coworker told us if we were to ever visit Hays Kansas we had to visit the Taco Shop. He was right..... the tacos were amazing. We visited May 2023

This is a cute little place. Our family enjoyed our meal and we are likely to go back. Our favorite thing was the queso. The chips were fine, though not salted. They have great daily specials and a large menu.

Not only will you find THE. BEST. FOOD. but the best service, the friendliest staff, and the best atmosphere of a classic Hays original experience!! Not a single stop to Hays, Kansas would be complete without a visit to Taco Shop! 🌮🌯

Seems popular with the college crowd. Great prices. Not authentic (that's okay, but don't go expecting authentic Mexican food). Great service. Filling. A lot of food for the price.

Place has been a family favorite ever since I was a kid! It's always a "must" to stop and eat or order take out anytime we are in town!

Always a treat to dine there! The food is just like it was when I was in college back in the 80's. I ALWAYS have to dine there when I'm in the area. I love the place! A flavor unlike any other place I've been! And, just for the record, there are other restaurants with the same name, like in Wichita, but not even close flavor-wise, not affiliated with the local Hays place...unless my research and tastebuds are lying to me...which is a slight possibility. Pobody's nerfect. The foods below do not reflect my entire purchase because some things I had were not an option to pick. I think their pricing is very reasonable.

The man who initially took my order was so kind! Super welcoming, food was fast, service was amazing of course and I come here all the time for this comfort food. 10/10 I recommend this place to anyone looking for a great, fast and delicious meal!!

Seriously the best tacos in Hays hands down. It has been a staple of Hays since I can remember. Even a lot of friends that moved away still come back occasionally just for the taco shop and if they were coming anyway taco shop is the first stop. All the way around it's a great place, super friendly staff and clean bathrooms, actually clean everything. You get good sized portions for reasonable prices. Definitely a must try for any newbies to hays.

Not being a Hayes resident, I've heard from a few people this place has great food and a must stop. Having been here twice, I'm just not impressed. Had to wait from some friends, about 1/2 hour, and it was always busy. Maybe its just a decent price for okay food, but I probably wouldn't go back. Maybe a better choice for college students.

A hays staple. I just moved back and the quality is still there. I recommend the giant taco supreme and the con queso with meat. Oh, and the salsa fresca is amazing. Delivery was promised in 30 minutes, took 15.

Really good food and good prices!

Ordered 3 soft tacos and a drink. Total was $8. Long black hair in one of my 1/2 filled soft tacos that literally went end to end. Just remade the one. Hardly an apology for almost ruining my taste buds for this place indefinitely.

I liked the pork quesadilla and crazy taco. I wasn't really into the sauce on the quesadilla though and the cup of taco sauce was kind of bland. The queso on the taco was great. The guy working the window was very helpful and friendly. He said the prices had increased, but they were still relatively low. We loved the crunchy cinnamon sugar dessert that came with the kids meal.

Everyone should eat there at least once. I eat there everytime I'm even remotely close to Hays.

WONDERFUL ownership, staff, environment and most of all- FOOD! Meals are prepped by clean hands and is always as fresh as you can get it. Prices are reasonable and it's a great place to be for anyone needing a quick, delicious meal- from an individual to a whole group! ((((The beef nachos are Ahhhhh mazing!))))

It is a very American style Taco Shop. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't go here over a more authentic restaurant, and honestly might change my plans if it were the only taco place open.
