Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had! Trumps buddy’s pizza. Sauce is so flavorful. I wish I knew about this place sooner. Will be back!

Love the ambiance here which gives off a 1970s vibe. The pizza seems to be between a Detroit style and regular slices. Where at Detroit style has a more thick and fluffy crusty, Loui's Pizza thickness is more from the cheese than the fluffy crusty. The parmesan flavored crust is pretty good, and the cheese bread was great. The staff was very nice and the service was great. Visited 3/24/23

BDP! Best Damn Pizza! The slices are large. This is a four slice pizza. I at two and my wife ate one. Absolutely the best pizza I have EVER eaten! The last slice we took to go. Put it in our car and left it all day, over night and the entire next day. We then took it in the house well over 24 hours after purchase. Stuck it in the microwave and still great! Definitely will return the next time we are in town! The best part: the food and service. The worst part: I drink a lot, at a setting, I may have 3-4 refills. They only allow 1 refill before charging for another drink.

Our trip was to Windsor Canada but we saw a Food Network show about Loui's pizza and had to make a detour stop. It was so worth it. We had the original pan pizza with cheese and pepperoni it was so good. The crust, the toppings delicious. The original pans came from the automotive industry in Detroit. Next time we are in the area we will make the detour again.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The waitresses were very nice and had so much personality. The pizza was delicious and had the crispest crust. The cheese sticks were just okay. They were out of a lot of things on a Sunday evening…especially the meatballs and the wine. The Long Island was very strong but definitely gave me a headache the next day. I would return and recommend for a pizza fix.

Good place to eat, only thing I wish the marinara sauce was a little more seasoned.Food is filling! I ordered carry out and Katelyn was so sweet to me when we realized the order taker thought I said “green” peppers when I actually said “banana” peppers and she took the pizza back and had the cook make me a brand new pizza! Very polite and kind service! Way to go Katelyn! Thank you for your patience!

Amazing place. Giant dining area with lots of mirrors and plenty of staff to take care of the workload. Wonderful pizza too, my first time getting Detroit style pizza and the staff told us other places just don't compare. They handled our party of seven like champs.

Loui's in an original Detroit Style, a descendent of the original "Buddy's" that lays claim to inventing the cast iron automobile assembly plant pan pizza. Very cheesy and a great truly Italian spiced red sauce. The atmosphere is a true throwback

Not a fan of Detroit or Chicago style pizza so I wasn’t a huge fan of the food but others in the group liked it a lot. Service was very nice and they let us stay after they closed. The place was clean and taken care of. Also wish they weren’t out of chicken bbq pizza bc I think I would have liked that one more.

Best pizza I've ever had. Definitely the best Detroit style deep dish. Love that it's only 5 min away from my house!!!! The curbside pick is amazing. I've only dined in once and that was a great experience as well. Heading there now with family from out of town to dine in and get the best pizza they ever had!

Meh. Combo pizza was wet and soupy and crumb wasn't airy at all. Lime it was super under proofed and didn't get oven spring. 1.3 hours to get a pizza, bread, 2 cokes and check. Server was nice but place was understaffed and dirty. Cheese blend was good not great. Sauce had good flavor balance. Anchovies were just right, nicely fermented. Too much cheese, and watery and sloppy though. They used canned mushrooms. Worth checking out for atmosphere. As authentic as you will find among places that were serving square pies before I was born. Better than Jets, but not as good as Buddys.

PIZZA Recommended! Really lovely place with very friendly service staff. Had the opportunity to grab a pie to go, and I also went in to have a side salad and a soda. The pie looked and tasted amazing! A great Detroit style pie with nicely charred edges and good crunch on the crust.

My first time in Detroit and I needed to try some authentic Detroit style pizza. I don't think I could've chosen a better place. I loved how it felt I went back in time when I stepped inside. My server Shannon, I believe that was her name, was really friendly. After I ordered my pizza I also ordered a salad to eat while waiting, and her salad suggestion was perfect. The pizza was awesome!!! My only complaint- no place to sleep off my food coma hahaha My belly and I thank y'all!!

Awesome pizza and beer stop just outside of downtown! I hate I didn't go with the Chianti, but was already a beer deep prior to realizing that is what was hanging all around! Got a few pointers and tips for perfection my own Detroit pizza game! The difference in the pie toppings are staggering, awesome experiemce

Old-school, no frills establishment, very pleased with their house Chianti by the decor, but the star is of course the Detroit-style pizza. Make your own, choose a version off the list, it really doesn't matter. Inside it's a big Elks lodge, lots of big cafeteria tables in a giant hall, and chianti baskets hanging everywhere. We decided on the anitpasto -- really just some lettuce pretending to be a salad around chunks of cheese and ham in Italian dressing -- and a small sausage and onion, large pepperoni. Lots of very tasty crusty edges, very good red sauce. Loved the sausage, while the pepperoni was a little lost among the mounds of cheese on its pie. No matter, it was the greasy, delicious lunch we wanted. The servers were sharp, witty, but above all helpful to our gang of eaters. The house chianti is as expected for a pizza place. And it's not remotely expensive. The four of us were impressed and I want to go back already.

This one’s an oldie but goody. Their food is delicious and while it’s not fancy, it’s just that down home, comfy, neighborhood pasta place. All of the servers are just friendly and down to earth neighborhood people. The deep dish pizza is amazing. They have their own cast-iron pans that are well seasoned and you’ll get a delicious pizza every single time. The order does take a little bit for it to be prepared, maybe even up to an hour, but it’s well worth the wait. Definitely try the antipasto salad. It’s got about a pound of cheese and meat on it. And the dressing is so delicious. Don’t forget to try the meatballs too and they only cost $2.50 for four of them So can you beat it? If you carry out it’s wonderful. You pull up in your car and they bring it out to you. If you haven’t tried this place before, what are you waiting for? Get your butt in there. you definitely won’t be disappointed. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention they have a full bar inside as well.

While visiting Detroit my friend and I decided to do a pizza tour of Loui's Pizza, Cloverleaf Bar and Buddy's Pizza. We ordered a small Detroit Original Square with Pepperoni at all three locations so that we could review evenly. The crust at Loui's was soft and doughy, the sauce was a little acidic but the cheese blend is what set this pizza apart from the rest. The restaurant is old school with chianti bottles hanging from the walls and would make a great date or family dinner spot. It was close but this was my least favorite of the three restaurants but my friends favorite. Great cheese and this was my favorite part of the pizza but also made it a bit heavy.

A Detroit Style Pizza Institution!!! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and Loui’s has really stood the test of time! You have to love the ambience in here, with the Chianti bottles and old pictures. Cheesebread is some of the most cheesy cheesebread that I have ever had. I love that they give you a bowl of fresh sauce with it. We all thought it was phenomenal! On our last Detroit Pizza Tour (basically try to eat as many pizza places in Detroit as we can for a week), Loui’s was definitely the cheesiest pizza with the crispiest crust of all the places we went (Buddy’s, Alibi, Green Lantern, Cloverleaf, Shields, Cottage Inn, Town Square Pizza). Loui’s is a definite must stop if you are in Detroit for Detroit Style Pizza. One tip, it is much less crowded on a weekday at lunchtime, so that is when we try to go. It can get absolutely insane on the weekends.

One of the best old-school Detroit pizza spot that is worth a visit. Their anchovy pizza is a must try, especially if you are scared of fishy taste. Only thing that makes me hesitated to come back is their lack of capability of dealing with so many customers at rush hour. We had to wait an hour from ordering to get the pizzas on the table. That being said our waitress was super nice and friendly, and the foods were nice. Solid 4.5 for the foods and service, but 3 star for the ridiculously long waiting for the food.

one of the staples of Detroit style pizza, the perfect feeling of traveling back in time and history, reminded me of some of the oldest restaurants I have ever been to, the tables, the walls to the scent traveling through the space.... Just amazing Place filled with locals and we dined next to a gentleman who had been going there for 30 years and just was excited as we were! Food, we went for the cheese and added dried basil to the menu one it just hit the spot and definitely won against the other more ingredient filled one, super cheesy though and two squares will be plenty for one unless you are very Hungary and a bug eater.

What an absolute fantastic experience! Went in for dinner and the group were certainly not disappointed! Seated quickly, the server Shannon was absolutely fantastic! Quick to serve and very friendly! The food was spot on ! The pizza was great! The ‘za was well made, the dough crusty and the cheese and toppings melted in your mouth! They definitely did not skip out on the toppings either! Lots and lots of toppings and the cheese was everywhere! Definitely a recommend if you’re in the Detroit area! We’ll surely be back here next time we’re in Detroit

So fun and so delicious. It was like visiting a part of my childhood that had been frozen in time. Getting to take my children there to experience it with me was a dream come true and on my bucket list for a long time. Was the best moment to see them get so excited looking around at all the bottles and lights like I did as a kid. The food was so delicious it is making my mouth water just thinking about it. Best salad and pizza. & The best waitress. She was the sweetest I have ever met. It felt like I've known her all my life. She was seriously just so awesome. She made it even so much more extra special she even let us decorate a bottle and hang it on the wall at our booth. Which happened to be the same booth I remember sitting at as a kid singing 99 bottles of beer in the wall with my family. It was just like I remembered it. So cool. I love so much how they keep it the same. Such a cool place and such a great memory to have with my kids. I'm so thankful to have had the best waitress to make it so perfect and memorable for my kids too. (I'm so sad I forgot her name. I think it might have started with an L my memory is so bad I should have wrote it down. I think she said she has worked there for 15 years. This was yesterday night Sunday Feb 19 and she had the section of booths on the right side when you first walk in against the wall. She is short and sweet pretty sure she has brown hair and just the best. I wish I had told her thank you a few more times and wish I could have given an even better tip and told her how awesome she is and how thankful I am to her for making it extra awesome and giving us a bottle to decorate and hang on the wall made it even more awesome) I hope we will be able to go back again soon.

Been in the Detroit area for years, but the first time at this antique pizza masterpiece called Loui's. We had the pepperoni, mushroom onion pizza. Plenty of cheese on this pizza, the flavors were lots of fun, the atmosphere was great. A really cool eat-in pizza place in an area of take-out only pizza places. The pizza is a very crispy crust Detroit square. I don't know how they manage that, but it is really great. Solid recommendation.

Decided to have my group of 25 eat at Loui's Pizza. Lyndsey our server was ABSOLUTELY phenomenal!!! She was patient, efficient and service with a smile!! Atmosphere was nostalgic. Our food items were brought out piping hot and in good timing! Food was delicious! Tasted homemade. Looking forward to our next visit and will recommend to friends! Thanks Lyndsey!

What a wonderful iteration of Detroit style pizza! Loui's is worth the trip. An airy crust, that cheese done right, quality toppings. We ordered one large and two smalls (we ate big and still brought home five pieces). On a Saturday afternoon, it was busy, but there were still seats. Service was friendly, warm, and Detroit fabulous. We'll be back for more. Oh, and don't forget the Greek salad! We enjoyed a large for a family of 5. Sadly, there was no room left to try their cannoli. Maybe next time.

We ordered two large pizzas and I'm so glad we did. One pizza just would not have been enough. I love leftover pizza if it's good pizza and this is phenomenal pizza! The cheese. So much delicious cheese. I'm so sad we don't live nearby anymore because I would be eating this pizza way too often. The crust is burnt cheese and shockingly I had to give that to my boyfriend who absolutely loves the cheesy crust. If you love that, you'll be happy eating this pizza.

This pizza tastes just I how I remember buddy's USED TO TASTING when I was younger. If in the Detroit area, you MUST visit Loui's Pizza. You will not be disappointed. If you are, I'll cover your tab. JK.. I know you will not, because: 1. The pizza 2. The antipasto Salad 3. The decore (it will take you back)

The pizza took a while to come out, so prepare for long wait times. Detroit style pizza isn’t my type, but others in our party loved it. Too much cheese.
