    I visited Mandara Resort Mirissa and I gotta say it was average. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location and has easy access to the beach. The scenery was calming. The rooms are spacious but there were issues like broken equipment and I got no hot water. Need better maintenance. Considering this is a 4 star hotel the buffet was pretty good. The food tasted good and the spread was fine. But the restaurant staff seems to have a lack of experience in handling guests. Things I requested never came to my table and the staff is small. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay in the sea breeze.

    Not a recommended stay. We booked and paid for superior Sea View rooms but we were given Standard room. When informed about this they said to go to the balcony to get a sea view. The view from the balcony was the pool and the garden just on the side. Additionally, the locals (who also pay and stay) are highly discriminated in this hotel.

    This sea resort is right on the beach. The access road is very narrow for large cars/vans to get in. It is close enough to the Mirissa harbour (famous for Whale watching boat rides). It has excellent and modern rooms equipped with modern and clean bathroom fittings. The rooms have a good view too! However, the rooms lack centralised AC and proper comforter/ blanket on bed making it uncomfortable to sleep at night. The buffet dinner has live music which is good on most counts. The food spread lacks vegetarian fare and what is available isn't well made. Definitely needs Improvement here esp. with Indian guests around. The staff is good and courteous.

    The staff at this property are all great! They all go above and beyond to make your day comfortable. Super standard service and food is also very good. It was my Dad's birthday and we could get more than we expected from the Management and the staff at Mandara Resort. Would recommend this place for everyone who expects a high quality service and super calm mind relaxing vacation. What a lovely experience. Thank you team !!!

    Good sea facing hotel. Has a private beach. It became a little uncomfortable as hotel was hosting a wedding and it became loud at night. They packed our breakfast as we had early morning whale watching activity. Over all nice hotel.

    Astonishing Service This resort really knows the meaning of service. Right from the point that you enter to the complete departure, it was an outstanding and astonishing service. Rooms are so well maintained and clean with luxurious standards. They truly know it all about clean rooms. Food was amazing, buffet breakfast had a very wide choice which was well suited for our group of 13 pax, as some were vegetarians. We had dinner one night here of the 2 nights we stayed. We had the head chef to make a special Indian light meal as explained to him and showed over the internet on phone of Khichdi. Wow, it was too good and all our vegetarians went crazy over it. Hats off to his culinary expertise. The rest of us went in for the buffet, yet again excellent preparation and choices. We had booked for bed and breakfast, but we had also booked separately for Whale Watching cruise. They were so very kind to pack us breakfast boxes as we checked out after returning from Whale Watching experience. Any other resort would have said that by the time we come back their breakfast times are over. This showed that they cared so much of their guest and their comfort. Facilities around the resorts like swimming pool, etc were also very good and we did have a good dip in the pool with the group. They even looked after my mum who is an elder by providing breakfast in the room when we all went for our cruise. Their resident manager Mr. Glen personally looked into every detail. He is a good asset for this resort. My recommendation to stay here whenever you think of Mirissa or even Sri Lanka.

    This is good considering hospitality standards in Sri Lanka. The view from the room was amazing also the food was good, though Buffet was not very impressive. Had an unpleasant experience while checking in but later the service was good. They tried to settle me for a lower room type even though the type I booked was available. They had to finally give me what I had booked for after quite some unpleasant interactions n lot of waiting.

    There is one good thing about the resort. It's on the beach. Sure it's the corner and there is a muddy lagoon on one side. But still a beach, and the view is great. As for the rest, it's best avoided. Service is imaginary. It started badly - we paid for a room with sea view and they simply said we hadn't booked it but booked their basic room, 10 minutes of talking to management and they suddenly recollected our booking gave us the correct (and more expensive) room. Asked for wifi, and first day the Service didn't exist. The next day after 4 attempts we got a non functional router brought to our room. On our exit we didn't get the Courtesy of a bag drop from our room, after an hour of waiting we just carried them out ourselves, rather than ask the reception again. I could go on a bit more.But suffice to say their service is abysmal, and a dis service to their owners and their nice location. Rooms, well, they were ok, basic but needing a lot of repair - doors and windows needed repair, our door didn't lock without your muscling it shut. And then their restaurant. We ate once and then decided to not even try their meals, even the breakfast we had paid for. It was just the sort of place you stick to bread, fruit and water.

    We requested for an early check in and it was never full filled. We had to carry our bags to our rooms as there was no bell boy. Room bathrooms were not maintained at all! Lunch was alcarte and took 15-20mins from starters to main meal and from mains to dessert. Everything was delayed. I do not recommend this to both locals and foreigners! There are so many other nice hotels near by which have better services and quality. Also there was a hair in the soup!!

    I prepaid for 3 nights at this hotel in a room with a private plunge pool starting on Christmas night. Upon arrival I was taken up several flight of stairs to a room which was not what I had booked and payed for. I had pre paid many months in advance for a room with a private plunge pool but placed in a room with a lagoon view and no private plunge pool which ruined my Christmas. The front of house manager lied to me stating there was a problem with the plunge pool room and they could not fix it until the next day. He lied to me and had sold my room to another couple. I’m disgusted by this mans behaviour. I was finally given the room I had payed for the following day about 1:30pm after the other guests had checked out. There was no reimbursement for the fact that my Christmas was not in the styled room I had paid for. This hotel is poorly managed with rude and unprofessional behaviour from the man who did my check in Christmas night. Please don’t stay here as this hotels management are lying, money grabbing people who will ruin your holiday and not care.

    I have been to this place on 2019 for a three day stay and only on the first day they had the buffet, on other days it was a set menu. Food is overall average. But it is important to take a picture of room's refrigerator when you checking as they tried to charge me for beer cans which I never drank.
