I
booked
through
American
Express'
Hotel
Collection
and
prepaid
for
the
room.
The
room
was
great,
and
was
centrally
located.
This
was
my
first
trip
to
Europe
so
I
wanted
something
nice.
When
we
went
for
brunch
at
the
restaurant,
we
were
told
that
all
tables
were
taken
and
we
should
had
made
advance
reservations.
It
would
have
been
nice
for
us
to
have
been
told
this
at
check
in,
as
I
would
have
made
reservations
for
brunch
then.
The
restaurant
manager
(I
assume)
thought
outside
the
box
and
we
were
able
to
get
our
food
and
dine
in
the
lobby.
Not
idea,
but
a
good
compromise
given
the
circumstances.
The
main
issue
I
had
with
the
hotel
is
that
when
my
partner
left,
the
front
desk
associate
told
her
that
she
had
to
pay
the
balance
of
the
stay.
Even
after
my
partner
told
her
that
it
was
prepaid,
the
associate
insisted
that
she
needed
to
pay
for
the
whole
hotel.
I
had
already
left
sind
I
had
an
early
morning
flight.
After
numerous
calls,
my
partner
had
to
return
to
the
hotel
and
show
the
associate
my
American
Express
receipt
to
obtain
a
refund.
In
addition,
due
to
exchange
rates,
she
received
a
considerable
amount
less
than
was
originally
charged
on
her
card.
I
don't
want
to
imagine
what
would
have
happened
if
my
partner
did
not
have
the
ability
to
cover
all
the
charges
of
the
room
when
she
checked
out.
Please
train
your
associates
to
avoid
this
extremely
embarrassing
experience
from
repeating
itself.
