This is a Buddhist temple developed from the scratch using the various contributions from the local community. The original head monk was , Ven. Sri Sumathi Thero and Ven. Soratha Thero, have been the figurehead of the society who spent his entire lifetime helping the local community and developing the temple. They organise all religious and societal activities to help and uphold the welfare of the community including Katina Pinkama, Sil programmes. It is highly recommended you will visit the temple when you pass by Mahabage / Welisara.

Beautiful temple. I occasionally visit there. It's near my hometown. But when I visited there recently in one of the class room corridor areas there the lights were on during the day time. That's wasting electricity. No need to mention who turned them off but I sincerely hope that someone could maintain the place.

Buddisht temple situated beside of the Colombo Negambo main road at welisara, most of the Buddhist devotees come for the religious activities.

U have all the facilities .but no seating areas.
