Having a very old dog (14) we have had a lot of grooms. Giovanni is amazing, he treats my old boy with love and respect. My dog is always happy to go and comes back looking absolutely perfect. Can not recommend a better groomer 😊

I recently had my pet groomed by Giovanni and he did an amazing job. From the moment I arrived, Giovanni was professional and attentive to my pet's needs. He listened carefully to my instructions and made sure to ask any necessary questions to ensure he understood exactly what I wanted. During the grooming process, Giovanni handled my pet with great care and gentleness. He was patient and made sure my pet felt comfortable throughout the entire process. The end result was fantastic - my pet looked clean, fresh, and absolutely adorable. Not only did Giovanni do an excellent job with the grooming itself, but he also went above and beyond by providing additional services such as nail trimming and ear cleaning. He truly cares about the well-being of the pets he works with. Overall, I highly recommend Giovanni as a groomer. His skills, professionalism, and genuine love for animals make him stand out. I will definitely be returning to him for future grooming needs.

I have been using this store for years. The staff are always polite and check if you need assistance. The store is well laid out and has plenty of items to choose from. Parking close by can be a bit of a hassle if it's a busy time for the shopping center.

A big shout out to the team at Westgate Animates. I had a stray cat that I needed to keep in a crate for a few days following a procedure and they stepped up and loaned me one, so I could keep the kitty safe while recovering! Thanks team - you’re AWESOME!

Good pet shop wide range of items. They usually have a few kittens and pups to look at. Really aweosme dog grooming area. Great staff,offering holds with the animals and generally knowledgeable in the products the are selling... the grooming area is soooo cool

I've been coming to this store for a while now, and they used to have good staff. However, the good ones have gone and left the stale ones behind. The customer service here is really bad. The DIY Dog Wash is NEVER CLEAN. Staff all stand around doing nothing and are are too busy gossiping with each other. They don't pay attention to customers who are wanting help or are at the counter waiting to be served. Also, don't say "have a nice day" when you clearly don't mean it. Especially when you didn't give good customer service to start with. If you don't like serving others - perhaps it's time you find another job. Maybe the owner of this animates franchise needs to pop in and see what the rest of the one star reviewers are talking about.

Johann was very professional and knowledgeable of his job. We purchased a pump that had a manufacturer fault and he confirmed it and rang around all the store's to get another. When he did locate one he asked them to test it and it had the same fault. He them supplied a replacement of another model and everything was sorted. We never once felt like we were being a bother and will be back because of his service and attitude. He is an asset to the company.

My wife takes our elderly dog to Giovanni. Buddy the Shitzu absolutely loves him. Buddy always comes home from there relaxed, happy and looking so handsome. I highly recommend Giovanni as a Groomer!

After a year long search for good groomer for our labradoodle, we finally found Giovanni! He’s the best groomer around - hands down! The so-called specialty groomers in the vicinity (Hobsonville) aren’t even basic as compared to him. Our handsome boy came home relaxed, looking beautiful - you can see the cuts on his ears, tail like a proper haircut. He smelled gorgeous too! Can’t recommend Giovanni enough!

Not only was the service extremely unpleasant today, but when i got home, i realised something was wrong with my dogs eyes after she started crying as the swelling got worse - she has contracted an infection after her groom, which led to an after hours emergency vet trip, where they said this is common if the groomer cuts the dog, doesn't clean the equipment between dogs or uses harsh chemicals. My dog is prone to tear stains, so it wouldn't surprise me to know they used something harsh to try washing them. she is in a lot of pain. the experience used to be amazing. I will not be returning there for a groom, It looks as though it is under new "management" she used to come home smelling beautiful, with a little bandana round her neck and happy, the women there were so lovely. this is not the case there now.

The staff here are also very nice. I had to get my dog's nails clipped and 2 of the team took care of it. She even got a treat once done.

This is a review for Giovanni the Master Groomer. He is so gentle with my boy and always gives him a perfect full groom :) . He is the best at his work. And the best part is that not only my boy comes back looking handsome he also comes back HAPPY :) Giovanni is undoubtedly one of the best groomers in Auckland!

Recently we had our Cocker Spaniel groomed by Giovanni. Our dearly loved doggy 🐕 has an excitable nature, & can be difficult to handle. Giovanni was marvelous with him - calmed him done, made him feel at ease and Princeton came out looking sooo handsome. Strongly recommend.

I found Animates Westgate to be a very nice friendly shop, the staff are excellent in their listening skills and knowledge. I wasn't aware you could take your dog in on a lead. this was a great experience for me and my puppy. Thankyou

Customer service is really bad. I went in to just asked question about supplier and they make a joke about a question that I asked nicely. It could have dealt a bit better.

Brittany the dog groomer doesn't listen to instructions, ask her not to do something & she does it anyway then won't take accountability for her mistake & instead blames the customer when they complain, worst customer service skills, will be spending my money at a small local business who appreciate loyal customers from now on.

Good service but severely overpriced. In fact my pet food had gone up from $19 three months ago to $36 now!!!!!

The staff here are always super helpful and friendly, even when the store is busy. The store is always clean and tidy, and everything is well organised and easy to find. Can't recommend the store enough!

Just thought id reach out and commend the great customer service i recived last week from a lovely young lady. Had no idea what i was looking at when it came to fish but an amazing young lady named Liv helped me through out the entire process. Highly recommend having this wonderful young lady help you out.
