Fantastic Museum! There are loads of interesting things to see and do here. Learn about Hamburg industiral harbour history. Board old ships and explore them on your own. There are old cranes, different railroad wagons, steam powered ships and plenty of historical maritime items. I got a personal guided tour of MS Bleichen. Thank you for that. I had a really nice day here. Highly recommended and should not be missed if you visit Hamburg.

Closed for the season from 1.11.2017 to 1.4.2017 but you can still walk around the building and watch the cranes

This is museum should really be called the history of shipbuilding and harbor activities from 1900 to the dawn of the Container Age. Lots of rusting hulks of shipyard equipment and boats outside. Inside some great machines that were used to build ships here back in their day. Nice models of ships and equipment used to load them. All displays are in German language and there is no English translation available.

Very interesting Museum. It has some nice old train cars from many years ago and let the guests really see the old mechanisms that were used back then. It also has some nice old ships and grants an amazing view upon the harbour and City Centre with all its Church Towers.

A unique and must see place if time allows for a visit. The boats and the equipment are worthwhile seeing and you may also appreciate the views to a part of Hamburg harbor otherwise a bit hidden.

Very raw and nice experience. Interesting for a toddler that has passion for trains. We were not allow to go on the Peking Ship with the kid. Nice applecake at a good price . Overall a good place for 2h with a toddler.

If you are looking for a traditional museum where everything is nicely exposed, the Hafenmuseum is maybe not your cup of tea. If you don't mind strolling around in a warehouse with fascinating objects, this is the place to be !:) Unfortunately all the descriptions are in German only. The Peking cannot be visited currently due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Odd museum. The warehouse is interesting, but the outside is not well marked, and I'm fairly sure I wondered into a place I wasn't supposed to be. PS: I used the S Bahn to get there. It's a bit of a walk next to a busy road.

Frankly, some will find the museum as full of junk. But in reality this is the heritage to built on, a great work of Hamburgers remembering their history and passing it on to next generations.
