Tourist attraction Museum Open air museum

👍👍 Open air museum a bit outside of Hamburg City Center. The exhibition shows the (farm) life of the Vierlande-People. The exhibition is well preserved and explanations are in English and German. The ticket master took some time to explain us a bit more about the peoples life and answered all our quest... People often mention museum, beautiful, nice,

A nice little local museum. You can look at an old farm. I found the entrance fee at 4 euros to be cheap. Source information ONE OF THE MOST MAGNIFICENT AND OLDEST FARMHOUSES IN NORTHERN GERMANY. The Rieck House, built in 1533, is the oldest surviving Low German specialist hall house in the Vierlanden. Together with the barn, Haubarg, bakery and field drainage mill, it provides a clear insight into the farming culture and the coexistence of people and animals under one roof. The farm garden refers to the traditional cultivation of flowers for the Hamburg market. We had an exciting and humorous tour with Mr. Ernst Cord. thank you very much. There is a barn where sayings and their meaning and origin are explained. Interesting. The Ewert trip on Bille and Dove was great.

This small museum is worth a visit. Anyone who has always wanted to know where all the nonsense comes from, like the board being lifted, making a mistake or do you have bags in front of the doors and much more will be explained here. The explanation of the mill was also great. Very clear and beautifully designed. Thanks for the great tour

A beautiful living museum about real ancient history. It's particularly interesting if you can take a guided tour there, where you can learn not only about the history of the house, but also about earlier times and the habits of people in ancient times. Despite National Mill Day, it wasn't crowded. Particularly worthy of mention are the beautiful cottage garden at the front and the extensive herb garden at the back. Unfortunately, apart from some coffee, nothing else was offered, although you would have liked to eat a piece of cake in this beautiful place.

We came here for strawberry festival. It was way more sad then expected. Some industry cake probably with defrosted strawberries from last year. One spot with grilled sausage, few stands with local craftmans' stuff, some 80 years olds singing poorly on the stage. Dissapointing that there is no fresh wind in events like this. All done by old folks for old folks.

A nice open-air museum. It shows the history of the lives of Hamburg's rural population. Worth seeing. Especially the strawberry festival, which is held once a year.

It was for the strawberry festival with a few small stands and then a visit to the museum. The devices (very old things) that were used for were explained well to visitors with a lot of patience and the makers were completely unknown to young people

Lovely small farm ,it had such beautiful pure roses and other flowers around . The choir sang so well and the local traditional dance was awesome ...was amazed to see the spirit of the elderly dovey couples👍👍👍not to miss the yummy strawberry cake and was surprised to see the little farm house ...how people stayed on the 1500 ...the heater in the room took me by surprise and was awestruck how thoughtfully made..not to miss the fleshy sweet cherries and strawberries 👍

This is a small homestead similar to an open air pioneer museum in the US. I think you need to be reeeeally into history and come on a day during which you won't mind the weather. My daughter and I arrived right as winter was turning to Spring. It was an easy bus ride but decently away from Hamburg. You probably only need an hour to get a good view of everything. Pretty interesting history. Lots of examples of German cross stitch
