I
love
a
countryside
meal
as
much
as
a
countryside
wolf
loves
a
countryside
rabbit.
This
place
looks
perfectly
placed
to
deliver:
well
balanced
wide
ranging
menus
are
great
for
crowd
pleasing,
but
tough
to
keep
high
quality
flowing.
It
shows
in
the
bratherring
with
bratkartoffeln
we
are
served.
The
fish
is
standard
stuff;
no
drama.
But
the
rest
is
where
places
like
this
should
show
the
city
why
the
country
is
the
place
to
be.
The
salad
elements
are
ok,
though
a
traditional
dressing
would
help..
the
frozen
veggies
are
sodden
and
lifeless.
Even
frozen
veggies
have
hope:
well
drained
with
a
bit
of
mustard
and
homemade
mayonnaise
and
there's
interest.
But
fresh
surrounds
us
in
the
country...and
not
hard
to
hold
and
portion
cook.
The
bratkartoffeln
are
as
sad
as
a
cake
free
birthday.
Oily
as
an
old
car
engine
and
stale,
with
no
flavour
beyond
a
surplus
of
salt:
no
caramelised
onion
and
speck
as
tired
as
a
hiker
with
no
place
to
rest.
Potatoes
are
in
season,
and
this
part
of
the
dish
could
have
lifted
the
plate
to
the
heavens,
or
even
the
countryside...sadly,
not.
The
service
is
really
great,
and
while
I'd
love
to
answer
"did
you
enjoy
your
meal"
with
the
truth,
the
truth
is
not
the
diners
job
description.
Hopefully,
this
feedback
will
help.
