Quite a unique museum, and perhaps a little bit expensive for entry, however lots of exhibits across three hangers. The exhibits include the prototype Mosquito, an actual Comet and many other aircraft. Each exhibit is very well documented as is the entire story of De Havilland. Overall, a good place to visit if you have an interest in aircraft history or engineering. More suited to late teens and adults as younger children may not appreciate the information and exhibits as much.

Fantastic relatively small aircraft museum where you can learn everything about the De Havilland aircraft produced over the past 100+ years. Great covered displays of many historic aircraft. Especially of interest the famous Mosguito fighter bombers. Other exhibits include the famous Comet aircraft and many more. I was lucky enough to get a free guided tour by one the volunteers which enabled me to see some restoration work in progress. An absolute must see place for aviation enthusiasts.

Really enjoyed my first visit to this museum. Having spent the morning at the RAF museum in Hendon, I noticed that it was only a 15 minute drive to pop over to the De Havilland museum so paying a visit was a no brainer. Very interesting exhibits, many of which have cockpit viewings on offer at no extra charge. This particular museum is home to my favourite jetliner, the Comet of which they have 4 on show! 1 being an original mark 1 full length fuselage (minus its wings) 2 are forward fuselage sections which are displayed outside and the final is the empty shell of another forward fuselage section which has been farmed for parts to help with the refurbishment of the Comet 1. Many other interesting aircraft, engines and weapons on display and a very well stocked shop and cafe, ample free parking and accessible toilets. The best part of my visit was meeting some of the lovely stewards who look after the museum. I had several very informative conversations and learnt a few things I didn't know before. I especially enjoyed chatting to Jason in the workshop, Rick in the Mosquito hangar and Colin who was looking after the Comet. Great bunch a guys and a museum that I will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend to others.

A very enjoyable, educational visit. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. The cafe was quite limited in choice of food but reasonably priced. The gift shop had a good choice of gifts and all at a fair price. This was my first visit, will definitely return in the near future. If you are a wheelchair/mobility scooter user, there is only one very tiny issue, at the entrance you may need help to gain access, it's a double door with one door bolted so to get in you may need that door unlocked. The staff are there to help and were very quick to do so. As I a very tiny issue which didn't impact my enjoyment of the facilities

What an absolute gem of a museum. I spent just over 3 hours here and would probably have been longer had the weather been warmer, but it was a grey day in November. There is a surprising number of exhibits here both inside and outside and they are fascinating to see; the 3 Mosquito aircraft take pride of place but plenty of other aircraft to see and by no means just war planes. The staff here are excellent and can add so much detail to the story beyond the information boards.

Nice day out although not a huge place. Thought a bit pricey at £14 per adult considering it can took me just over an hour to go round with a toddler. There was some nice activities for youngsters such as colouring and other craft stuff. Several aircrafts you can enter and walk through both inside and outside if weather permits

I would strongly suggest to anybody thinking about visiting this museum to please ignore the 1 star reviews. This museum is absolutely fantastic and seriously well worth visiting, you will find on display some of the most incredible British engineering achievements our country has ever built, and a wonderful reminder of our sadly mostly lost history and heritage in aviation, especially its star attraction is the worlds only surviving DH98 prototype Mosquito, I appreciate that I’m slightly biased as I have a family connecting here as my grandfather was an engineer in the drawing office at De Havilland and part of the genius team that designed and built the Wooden Wonder.. If you have any interest aircraft and history you really should spend a few hours visiting here.

This is a small but perfectly formed idea of the perfect museum. Exhibits you can walk around, and walk into. Explore cabins. Take photos of cockpits without perspex in the way. Wonderful volunteers with plenty of knowledge to part out. Even some nice pictures to purchase 😉

A local gem with lots of DeHavilland history. It took about 3 hours to look around, although I could have spent more time. The volunteers are very interesting. Well worth a visit.

A small but well kept selection of famous aircraft including THREE complete Mosquitos. A charming lot of competent volunteers take plenty of time to explain what you see and the surroundings are beautiful.

Great museum, amazing aircraft and extremely kind staff, spent ages talking to one of the workers working on restoration and the person and listened ages to one of the workers in the BAE 146. It was really quiet during time of visit too. They have a really good gift shop too.

A great day with plenty to see. Excellent history write ups dotted about plus aircraft outside you can go inside. A nice cafe and being a model show day hot food and drinks were outside very reasonably priced. Plenty of helpful volunteers are the oil in the machine. Definitely should visit for this piece of aviation history with actual WW2 Mosquitos as the stars of the show.

I've been wanting to visit for quite some time and I'm glad I finally did it! From start to finish, you get to see amazing aircrafts as you walk through the history of De Havilland- from the Mosquito to the Comet. There's many planes to which you can walk up the stairs and take a closer look inside the cockpit and you can walk through the cabin of the bigger planes to really get the feel of how commercial flying used to be like when it all started. Family friendly, very helpful and informative staff and volunteers, full of knowledge and passion. You can easily spend a whole day there!

I been there when I decided to visit St. Albans , by car is only 10 min, free parking next to. An excellent museum for anyone interested in aeroplane and aviation. It's very unique because is only place to have 3 mosquito aeroplane prototype. More planes are displayed outside and inside in different hangar. Everything is well explained and the crew are very pleasant and helpful. There is a family run café nearby and toilets.

An excellent museum for anyone interested in aeroplanes and aircraft engineering. It has the world leading aircraft and engines developed by De Havilland which became Hawker Siddeley Aviation and then Airbus. Three complete Mosquito aircraft, a Vampire which was the first successful UK jet fighter, a Comet, the first jet airliner, a 146, a 125 ...There is also a room devoted to the De Haviland technical school which was located in Salisbury Hall, including the workpieces we had to make as apprentices, a trip down memory lane, thank you to the volunteers who spoke knowledgeably about the exhibits. There is also a shop with a wide stock of books, models prints and memorabilia. Will come back for a second visit in the summer.

Costs £14 for an adult, and is well worth it. Find dozens of WW2 aeroplanes in addition to the more modern ones. The iconic de Havilland Comet is an interactive exhibition, and you can even walk inside it. The highly knowledgeable volunteers answered all my questions and offered valuable information. Will certainly revisit!

I have been to this museum before but on this occasion I stopped here on the way home to have a look at the books and gifts that are for sale in the shop, and also to have refreshments. I can highly recommend the museum and the staff are friendly and engaging. Just beware that when you put the museum into your satnav it takes you to a farm, but you need to drive to the side of the barn and around the house to get to the museum car park.

A fascinating insight into the history and development of the often ignored Mosquito planes. My father in law was a Mosquito bomber pilot in WW2 so the visit meant a lot to my husband. We spent about 2 hours here.

This is a small museum with lots of enthusiastic volunteers and well worth a visit. It is less than five minutes from the motorway and way better than any service station. The cafe serves excellent cream teas and the museum has lots of exhibits. There are frequent short talks and presentations and plenty of opportunities for questions. A visit here certainly breaks up a long journey.

Fantastic tribute to this mythical aircraft manufacturer. The versatile “Mosquito” is the main star but there are many others. I have to highlight a “La Cierva” autogiro very well conserved and fantastically explained. Congratulations to all the staff and volunteers for your reopening and to all the British aviators for having these fantastic places for flight fanatics in your Island.

Really nice museum. Great to be able to get so close to 3 Mosquitos. Quite small, so more a half day than a day out. Staff were all very friendly. We'll worth a visit

What a lovely aircraft museum. A good price for admission, a lovely little shop and cafe. Plenty of things to see and do plus activities for the kids during the Summer holidays. The staff are wonderful. Very knowledgeable about everything plus they are kind and very friendly. Gerry the ginger cat who roams around is gorgeous and loves a fuss. I will definitely be taking the grandkids back and I fully recommend that people pay this lovely place a visit 🛩️

What an amazing place. Full of all sorts of aircraft, and aircraft engines from throughout the 20th century, as well as some oddities like anti aircraft missiles, rocket engines, etc. What is even better is that is is staffed by enthusiasts, who are willing and eager to share their extensive knowledge. Our 2 hour visit passed by really quickly. Highly recommended.

This is a really great museum filled with aviation history. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of De Havilland and beyond. My nephew really enjoyed taking part in a demonstration, sending morse code messages and exploring the planes. A fun half day out for adults and children alike.

Great visit to see some of the De Havilland aircraft both restored and as work in progress. Two good examples of the Vampire I was able to get up close and take photos. Also a good example of the Sea Vixen awaiting restoration.

I had a great experience here , the volunteer staff make the visit very worthwhile, very knowledgeable and some are ex De Havilland employees while at others have come from the aeronautical industry. All are very helpful and it’s a fun day out learning about our aeronautical history. I took my son who was 17 and he loved it. I highly recommend a visit and support the museum. There is also a nice cafe and shop where you can buy memorabilia relating to the mostquito aircraft and de havilland company.

Amazing tiny museum right next to the M25! Lovely planes and fantastic displays! Only let down by lack of GF options in the half hearted attempt at a cafe, but it was a good hour in passing on the way back from holiday. Will go again!
