I get it, follow procedures, rules, and urgency comes first. But if you come here you will wait 8-10 hours just to literally die in the waiting room just to be seen by a physician for 5 minutes or less. Sigh. This experience was unreal and so sad. They even have a sign that says "best emergency room" but how? Yeah we may not understand what goes behind it all but what I saw was a mess. Different nurses calling for the same patient name but a nurse already took them back! It was constant, so I'm like huh is there no communication back there of who is getting which patient? Smh. We waited 7 hours and even asked the girl behind the desk my husband couldn't breathe. Please we all ask PLEASE come up with a better system to get all the patients be seen less than 6 hours wait or less! We are humans. All of our lives matters, yes urgency ones who looks like their dying is first and if so communicate with the 30 pts in the lobby waiting that who feels like they're dying too. We need more emergency room or expand it at least during this horrific time of covid. For anyone to come here, expect to wait 6 hours or more. Sigh. My friend went into the ER because he couldn't breathe and he waited for hours too and they told him to go home. Wow. Healthcare isn't the same and it's worse here at Catawba emergency. Do better.

This place flat out sucks. Wife dumped in a wheel chair in the lobby after a ambulance ride. 9 hours. They did nothing. Doctor Jeckel does not know anything about liver disease. Sent her home and said ice packs and massage. Dude you straight up dumb. She is worse on Saturday. Save your life or save a friends life. Stay out of this place. You will be happy you are still above ground. Peace out

Still can't fathom why someone would come to the emergency room just to have to wait over 5+ hours to been seen. This is the only emergency room I have ever been in that this nonsense happens. This place seriously needs to get up to par with other states that run fantastic emergency departments.

Do not go here!!! I'm calling Medicare and our family attorney in the am for referal for malpractice attorney. We had to leave because lack of communication for the medical staff, they were shady, saying one thing, then,no Dr,no nurse,no nothing until after 5pm,when they could charge us another night. The nice man who checked up on my husband, checked in on him while emptying the trash? Really?

Took our toddler there for trouble breathing. No wait at all! Got checked in and went right back. Everyone was very kind and attentive, and super kid minded. The nurses, respiratory therapist, xray tech were so great! Made a nerve wracking experience a little easier.

This emergency room was the slowest!! I got there at 12:45am, did not get back to a room until 3am, and didn't see a doctor (PA) until 5:30am. They told me they only have ONE doctor on staff from 1:00-5:30am! That is wild to me as emergency rooms are the only option for medical care between those hours. Once I started with a doctor, I really appreciated how kind and helpful everyone was. But it blew me away that they only have one doctor.

I had to give a star to write this. The night shift nurses were awful. We got there at 4 and nothing happened till 7am when the day shift came in. The nurse was very rude and got nasty with me when I agreed with her. She was in such a mood she thought I was being smart by agreeing with her. She do u have a problem. Wow didn't know it was ok to talk to sick people like that. Its not ok to act like that cause ur having a bad nite.I will never use this hospital again nor my family! The day shift came in and in 25 mins did so much meanwhile the night shift did nothing but but an IV in and didn't use it. When people are at their worst they should not have to worry about being on guard and prepared to fight and argue. We were in the C wing so whomever reads this can do something about the nasty nurse.

Treat people like they don't matter. Have sent my grandson home several times telling him ER is for emergencies, telling him they think he has respiratory infections and needs to see own dr. At night, on weekends when Dr is not available. BP all over the place, passing out, trouble breathing and don't help him ! He has a diagnosed brain tumor and has a heart monitor implanted in his chest and they don't care enough, just send him home to deal with it. They performed appendectomy ( unnecessarily) on him a couple years ago which caused him to have pain and sickness for months afterward and repeatedly sent him him saying he was fine. He was taken to Winston and had to have immediate surgery for a grapefruit sized access in lower abdomen that was poisoning him due to dr cutting a perfectly fine appendix in half to remove it since he was already in, he decided to go ahead and take it. He had drains through his buttocks to rid him of infection . Thank God for caring drs at Winston ! Have no use for Catawba.

Took my son there with severe stomach pain. Got there at 12:30 and he was taken directly into a room. Blood drawn and Dr was in right away. Did CT scan and got results and was leaving by 2:00 pm. Great place. Especially if you are from Statesville and have to use Iredell.

Worst place for anyone sick. Been sitting for 5 hours with no end in sight! Don't worry, you're near the top of the list! Disgrace of an ER. Obviously short staffed but they just don't care!!!
